I do not work in the game industry but I`m thinking making patches to increase or decrease weapon effectiveness or damage are quite different than making patches to a.i., physics, or other specific gameplay elements in a sports game where tweaking one thing can severely affect all other parts of the game. Also most patches in bf3 are made to allow users to play on all those dlc maps or in essence compatibility patches. Also games like bf3 get 2 or 3 years to put their games thru the ringer with play testing as opposed to sports games that are looking at 8 or 9 months.
I like you would love if they could have just patched 2k13s issues but it was obvious that things such as paint contact and dunk defending werent issues that could easily be inputed. They are on record saying they had to completely write new code for that aspect of the game. To me the ability to truly affect outcomes on the defensive end is a mechanic that is sorely lacking in 2k13 and it`s addition in 2k14 could really change the dynamic of the game imo. People are welcome to express their opinions and that includes smoove who made some valid points but like others have said playing the game is the only way we can truly judge how different 2k13 is from 2k14 and I look forward to finding out for myself.
