So I read in the game informer preview that coaches switch up their lineups during the season based on player performance.

Anyone who got the game early notice anything like this? Bench players earning more minutes because of playing well? Or vice versa?

Awesome job, CW. The tread title is definitely very fitting.

I do have a couple of questions though...
Do proverbial role players still get upset about their minutes with Player Morale On? Does injured players morale go down?

        Thanks for the work, OP.

You have officially put in more time analyzing NBA 2K's Association mode than the NBA 2K development team. (Feint praise, I guess)

This mode could be so incredibly immersive and captivating. It could be what "Road to the Show" is to MLB: The Show.

But I guess slightly reducing the potential ratings on draft classes is just as good....

Thanks for the information Sapp, looks like many of the issues are largely unchanged AGAIN this year. I guess we'll just have to hope NG paid some attention to Association.

Made a mistake buying 2k13, After seeing franchise mode go largely unchanged i'm definitely not making the same mistake.

Seems like a patched 2k13 with a Lebron DLC mode added.

Madden bombed and now 2k is basically tweaking the game and not being innovative. Franchise mode is what makes sports games last past 3 weeks...

WTF? You can't even use any euroleague players in association... Why did they even put them on the game if you can't even use them in the one mode where it would make most sense to use them.

They sure didn't put much effort into this one.

Hi CW, I have one very important question regarding the association.

Do Free Agents still disappear after each season, if they haven't been signed during that season?

This was a major issue in 2k13. It made association unplayable. For example, Greg Oden would just disappear after first season if he hasn't been signed.

                Thanks!

I thought the same thing, was really hoping it would be tied to Association mode. It would have been neat to be able to see non drafted guys and FA signing overseas with those teams in Association mode. Even if they werent playable in Association mode they should have tied it in someway, especially since they took D-league out last year.

Id say it a good bet that scrubs still get upset with not enough playing time, its been that way for a few years now, and 2k dont seem to care about fixing it. I also heard 1 guy say team chemistry is broke and every team has 10% chemistry and it dont go up or down, so sounds like that is broke. 2k seems to forget it was us Association mode guys that made them the company they are today, not the casual gamers that they seem to cater too now days.

Let's just make sure we keep this thread going until at least January-February. It already has 30 likes so hopefully LD2K sees it and let's the dev team know.

Wouldn't count on it, myself a few other guys spearheaded a thread like this for 2K13 with EXTENSIVE testing and results. The dev team just doesn't care about Association, or they're saving something big for next gen.

It's clear their focus is the online player, and us Association guys are gonna have to take a backseat and just try to enjoy what we have.

Seems a little bit better. But overall the player-development is the most important thing. The main-Problem always was that players don't get way worse like in real life, after a injury etc.
At least the rookies don't seem to dominate everything after a few years.

LD2K said he would pass the thread along to the devs, he probably did as a guy who usually keeps his word, but the devs clearly did nothing with it haha. Hopefully they did some serious overhauling for next gen.

Right now though, all we can do is keep up threads like this in hope LD2K will pass it along again, we gotta let these guys know association means a lot to some of us. Right now though, we're falling on deaf ears.

I just picked up my copy, I'll be going home and doing some more extensive tests, seeing what needs to be fixed and improved. Right now, I can tell you that #1 will once again be overhauling the player roles system

I'm a big fan of the series, but I haven't gotten the game yet. The reasons being all the things mentioned in this thread.

I would be perfectly fine with no new features to association mode if some of the legacy
issues were addressed. It sounds like none besides potential were touched. Thats amazing to me.
This seemed like the perfect year, being the last year before next gen takes full priority to
tackle as many of the issues as possible, knock em' out, Then rehash for future releases.
We've been given the same mode since 2k11. I know it's sad, but it's hard not to be slightly
                                insulted.
