    Not the best option but I found something. issue being OVR rating system, I did a test with Miami Heat. I removed Dewayne Wades 2nd poition PG. I also did it with a few other players. I did it prior to starting Association Mode. Before I did it, I had to do the following...

    1. start association with 1 team

    2. check each roster after 1 day sim to see the reorder the CPU did, and take note of guys who are moved into starter role due to OVR. I found D. wade at PG and SG R. Allen. so I removed D. wade 2nd position.

    3. Write down all ratings before editing.

    4. A few players like ATL K. Korver is rated real low. Just give him a boost.

    so far issues are LAC C.Crarford and SA M.Ginobli, since they are 6th men that are high OVR compared to starters. J.R.Smith is too, but I use knicks. This is just starting point

        Are injuries already assessed when you start Association mode? Thanks.
        2k has not in previous releases made those changes as far as future draft picks being traded in previous years. Those have to be done before you play your first game in association. You can refer to my Association Reference Guide in the roster forum section for what trades need to be made and what teams need to be involved from the 2013-14 season through the 2017-18 season I believe. If you have any further questions regarding this area please dont hesitate to send me a message.

          I think I'm going to have to wait until the Patch is released to see what changes if any are made.

          Even with the potential ratings mechanic change the Association mode is too messed up to deal with at the moment.

          Maybe 2k's goal is to get everyone to stop playing Association so their statistics tell them they can remove the mode entirely :wink:

          I am most disappointed that the 2k team seems to have reintroduced legacy bugs that they fixed before - the fixed moral is the most prominent example.

          If the patch does not address many things I think I might forgo the Association mode for the first time since 2k10.

            Unfortunately this don't work for PC version.

            So basically, until someone have the time to create a dozen of draft classes, PC offline assoc mode players are screwed due to the 0 tendency and 25 standing layup stats.

              2k went from having a flawed association to destroying it. We all know they are not going to fix it. I have absolutely no faith in 2k regarding association.

                As unfortunate as it sounds, I may have to skip out on next-gen 2K14 if the Association Mode is as bad as it is (according to you knowledgeable folks) on 2K14 current-gen.

                Association Mode is all I play. I don't play online, I despise MyPlayer and I think MyTeam is for 10-year-olds. I usually take each of my teams in Association to about 20-25 seasons.

                Damnit, 2K. I really want to get NG 2K14 - it looks amazing. Why do you constantly have to take a dump on the Association players? It's not like Association is this obscure mode that only fanatics play.....every sports game has a Franchise Mode and it's usually the most popular mode in each game.

                Why does 2K feel the need to make it seem like Association Mode is only for a select few?

                  Its mind boggling not to support association. Its a sports game. The nba season is a franchise mode. Its the most realistic mode. When you follow sports your following the gameplay and franchise mode. Not watching Lebrons path to greatness. Lebrons path to greatness over association mode? Really 2k

                    It couldn't even stay the same as last year. Now they destroyed draft classes therefore destroyed association. You can edit the whole draft class I suppose. I don't know about you but I'M TIRED OF EDITING!!!!!!!!!

                    Tired of editing attributes, tendencies, coaching profiles trying to get realistic sim stats. Tired of editing draft classes cause they are horrible. Every year the majority of my time playing the game is spent editing. I JUST WANT TO PLAY!!!!

                      Agree with everything said above. It's not like we are demanding these massive new features. Just fix the (many) existing issues! The current iteration of Association was introduced in 2k9. Five years ago. All of the issues were pointed out that year but:

                      2k10-stayed the same, all the issues still there
                      2k11- stayed the same, all the issues still there
                      2k12- stayed the same, all the issues still there
                      2k13- stayed the same, introduce Total Sim Control which while great in theory, was poor in implementation with flawed options and an extremely limited range of results. All existing issues stayed the same.
                      2k14 CG- stayed the same, they even managed to top themselves and create another issue with the draft classes!

                      It's not like we have been impatient, we have been the most patient fans of any area of 2k. But this just isn't good enough. After five years of the same glaring issues. Hopefully a miracle happens and live comes out with a strong Franchise/Association mode, forcing 2k to match it next year.

                        What I dont understand is why is association mode there worst game mode, and its the only mode that gives us the chance to replicate what we see during an actual NBA season. Lets get pass the fact that its a video game for a sec, and really think about the fact that the only true mode that is purely NBA is and has been broken and flawed for the longest time now.

                        It really makes me think about the direction of 2k, is it all about giving the casual gamer what they want (myplayer, myteam, etc) or making a realistic NBA simulation. As of now the game should be called MY2k14 not NBA2k14, becuase the NBA side of this game is poorly put together and basically a joke.

                        Gameplay wise the game is good I cant lie about that, but as far as game modes go I would like to see a lot more focus on the NBA side of things.

                          I've been reading many of the posts from you guys and I also feel the sameway you do. I think that in order for you to have a professionals sports video game, NHL, MLB, NFL, NBA you need to implement a franchise/dynasty/association mode that allows users to really get their $$ worth by playing beyond the upcoming season and creating their own simulated sports world. I as well don't touch MyPlayer or MyTeam and the Path To Greatness mode is a joke (Greatness has just 2 rings, might wanna wait to see if he gets 3-4 before referring to him as Great, cause if he's Great then whats Kobe, Jordan, Magic, Kareem and Russell?).

                          I remember back in the day when I use to play Madden on the PC, i think it was Madden 07, but the franchise mode for that game on the PC was the best I've ever had. Being the owner and making franchise decisions gave me total control over my team. I think that is what is really missing from the NBA association mode. General Manager isn't a high enough rank, we need to be the owner/general manager/head coach/players...that gives us the entire board to work with and we get to have experiences in the different areas to make our team more dominate or begin the rebuilding process. In my opinion any NBA sports video game needs to adopt this style for their association/franchise mode...

                          1. Accurate owners, general managers, coaching staffs and rosters. I can't stress this enough but how can you make a professional sports game and NOT go all out and make it exactly what the professional sport is and include all the intangibles. Enough of the generic head and assistant coaches, include the entire coaching staff, rank them and make a lead assistant and put the others in charge of scouting and such.

                          2. Every player that played or was on a roster the previous year needs to be either on a teams roster or in free agency. This is the most common problem with 2k yearly as they HIDE players on the game disc and it's a complete waste, why they do it is beyond me. It's sad when a player like Julyan Stone (although injured last season) has been in the league for 2 years and remains hidden while Patrick Beverley is signed back in January/February and he's included in a roster update. Now that is some serious lack of attention to detail.

                          3. Salary Cap/CBA needs to be implemented.

                          4. AI Logic/Free Agency. The AI/CPU logic needs to be revamped and needs to factor in many intangibles just as the players do when they are free agents and making their decisions.

                          5. Player roles/rotations. I am still wondering why with the players roles in 2k, why does 1 player role usually count as 2 different ones on the screen? A prospect player role also takes up a role player role? That really doesn't make sense to me, but here is how you give players the proper roles. Right now as it stands I think 2k sets it up to have 8 player roles per team, I could be off by one number or not. Instead of assigning players roles, having a screen where there is a list. For example it would look something like this...

                          STAR Player = ???? (if a starter, he will retain Star Player, but be included in starters tally)

                          Starting PG = ?????
                          Starting SG = ?????
                          Starting SF = ?????
                          Starting PF = ?????
                          Starting C = ?????

                          Sixth Man = ?????

                          Role player (energy player) = ?????
                          Role player (defensive stopper) = ?????
                          Role player (dirty work/hustle) = ?????

                          Prospect = ?????

                          Bench Warmer = ?????
                          Bench Warmer = ?????

                          Inactive = ?????
                          Inactive = ?????
                          Inactive = ?????

                          There's just a few ideas of mine, I have many more but didn't want to make a long layed out post.

                            I've written some long-winded responses here lately basically echoing these sentiments. I haven't written off 2K, but I certainly have a lot more questions about their direction lately than I've had at any other point within the last 12 years.

                            Just shooting from the hip, but sometimes I wonder if one of the repercussions of Live's recent failure is the former divide between what some believed Live represented (slightly arcade) and what 2K represented (simulation and realism) has melded together to create one big supergiant of a game that's trying to meet all needs from all corners, perhaps shunning certain aspects as a result.

                              sadly, 2k is more interested in getting people's money from buying VC than improving this game mode. I agree with everything said, Association is the only sim mode. My Career has the potential but your teammates are terrible, and My Team while fun (for me) can't match up to Association. It's been a copy and paste for years

                                I find it ridiculous that year to year they release such an unpolished product. As a PC user... This is game-breaking for me. Just like always - seems to have so much potential but doesn't get enough support so we're all left with a garbage product.
