    are CAPs still amazingly generic?
and what were the stats for some of them? i see a few rated 80/90+ but none crack top 10 or 5.

Re: NBA 2k14 Association Mode: The Good, the bad and the ugly (A more in depth look)

sorry for the length of this post.

for years past I've tried to get into association mode, but found through year 1 I had to controll all teams lineups since the A.I logic is so terrible. I would like to know if during sim this is fixed?

      Basically my issues...
Miami heat... udonis haslem is starting power forward, but shane battier is higher rated. the cpu seems to want to put LeBron at pf since his 2nd position is pf. then moves higher rated sf/sg ovr ray allen up to starting lineup as sf or moves him to sg and dwayne wade to pg.

This happens to a few teams including the spurs with ginobli. It seems the player roles A.I is off and/or the OVR rating system takes over. I cant keep ginobli on bench since he's rated so hi regarless of his 6th man status. I understand he will play his minutes but not as starter. this throws off the progression system as a danny green wont get time or starts.

has this been addressed or are we still playing with all teams again this year

I usually play an association with the sixers..it's good to hear they fixed the potential cuz that got annoying..then again I'm not hardcore into this mode like i used to be.

I know how you guys feel tho, beaux they neglect crew guys too.

But i get aspired when ppl say this is 2k13.5, i really think they did a good job on the game play
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

I'm not sure if this is still the problem (I've just started my Boston association and only played the first game), but I did notice that the rotations which are in the roster aren't carried over to the association (just like last year ), and the CPU apparently sorts everybody according to their OVR rating and then fits them in a rotation.

So we went from a somewhat flawed Potential implementation to an overly predictable and equally flawed Potential implementation?

                    Great...

                      THE DRAFT CLASSES
Well this is my area of expertise so I may be unfairly harsh on 2k so forgive me. For starters there are several new layup ratings since the inside shot rating is gone. When you allow 2k to generate a draft class, all of these ratings are 25 for ALL of the players. Potentials can also be unrealistically high as one draft class I went through had three players with 90 plus potential all at one position. My suggestion is to use created draft classes or edit your own.
Not only that, the inside shot tendency is at 0 for all players, too. It's a joke really.

There's a fix to this. If you go to the create draft class section, the class that is generated has the layup ratings and tendencies fixed. Just save the draft class and load through association

Not on PC. Haven't checked out console versions, but playing on my laptop I only get layup at 25 and inside shot at 0 with draft classes created in the main menu. Glad I only rented 2k14.

Reading about the many problems with the association this year, I guess I will just do a 30 team single season association and just take my time with it until the next gen game comes out and hope for the best that the association on next gen actually brings something good to the table.

Do you have to do this each new season in your association or just once at the start?
