    How are the generated rookies.

In past 2k's rookies from both online and offline association all could not shoot. Had horrible perimeter games...all they could do is dunk.

Hmmm always the same with those rebounding, assists, steals and block stats. Scoring seems to be a tad to low but it's okay. The other things are more important to me, hating it to only rack up 9-11 rebounds per game with KLove or D12. Hopefully they change that til next gen

@Taer - Here is the injury report after a month:
Kevin Love Sprained Toe - Hurt - Day to Day (-2)
        John Wall Sore Knee - Hurt - 1 to 2 Weeks (-4)
Rudy Gay Strained Quad - Hurt 1 to 2 weeks (-5)

Andre Igoudala Broken Finger - Out Day to Day (-13)
Andre Drummond Sprianed Ankle - Hurt 2 to 4 weeks

Man there are a lot of them lol. I'm not going to list all of the injuries but after a month there are 35 injuries.... 17 players out and 18 players just hurt.
Maaann I just had an in game injury (all star-sim) and they still just mysteriously happen..the play just stops and asks for a replacement smh.

So, they changed nothing but potential is what you're saying? Not that i'm shocked, but damn 2K, the fact that hardcore Association fans keep getting shafted is beyond ridiculous. I knew they wouldn't change much, but in the back of my mind I always had hope.

          Hope = Gone.

This is pretty good, a lot better than I thought it would be. Thanks for informing us CWsapp! I do have one question though. Will a player always reach his potential?

Madden's Franchise Mode this year>>>>>>>>2k's Association Mode the past 4 years

And it's amazing if you understand how dreadful Madden's Franchise Mode was for years.

i hope at some point they put in the ability to pick what year you're starting, on consoles. on pc it's incredible to start in the 90s and work your way up literally resculpting the past.

i never played association until the past few months and i realized that it's actually an incredibly fun mode. problem is that there are so many issues with it. i'm truly hoping for next gen fixes.

                  any improvement with rotations -

do rotation minutes carry over to association?

do cpu teams still play 12 players every game?

I think potential shouldn't be steady or absolute for young players. Instead it should be used as an indicator, depending on the talent of your scout. For example, a player with an 80 potential should only be a rough indicator and depending on how you train the player (off-season training camp, practice drills, etc) there should be an opportunity to increase or decline the potential, e.g., within the ranges of 70-85. The more you train, the higher the chance of a good potential, and the more you neglect the player (i.e., benching him and not doing any practice drills, etc.), the more likely the potential will diminish. This way, it also gives more realistic chances of drafting busts.

Take the following players for example:
                    - Michael Beasley, Anthony Randolph, Hasheem Thabeet, Terrence Williams; all players deserved such high potential but never really lived up to the hype.
                    - Marc Gasol (bet the Lakers never knew he had this kind of potential when they drafted him), same case with Nicolas Batum
                    - Brandon Jennings, O.J Mayo & Tyreke Evans (they had tremendouse rookie seasons and how many of us thought they would emerge as All-Star calibre players)

Furthermore, injuries should also limit one's potential, possibly diminishing it.

Oh I totally agree vtcha. When I said this year is better I was more so saying so because of how bad it was in previous years. I haven't tested enough to see if each player reaches his full potential or not but it's looking like everyone gets pretty darn close. What I will mst definitely say though is that I would take that a million times before I take a player with 80 potential reaching a 90+ overall every single time like last year because it just inevitably leads to the overabundance of superstars.

Oh, and the rotations appear to still have issues when controlled by the CPU. It actually seems to be the main reason that scoring stats are so low in later years.

Yep, Association junkies keep getting a raw deal on a yearly basis anymore. There was a time when they cared about us cause we were the ones that actually made them what they are today with buying the game yearly. Its sad to see how they cater to the casual fans more now days than they do the diehard fans of basketball.

Thank you for simming the Association so we could see how messed up stats are. I am glad that potential has been locked, although if they could get it right it really should be locked, but since 2k screws this up every year this is for the best that it is set in stone and dont increase. Looks like stats are still not overly realistic especially with assist, but I think some of these stats might be able to be closer to real life by running a 30 team Association and controlling minutes of players.

1 thing I am hoping is fixed but probably isnt knowing how 2k does things is the 2k share glitch where if you download a roster or CAPs it glitches Association and teams records will be off with a few teams not showing all 82 games played, as well as sometimes names change to. Its been quite a while since I have been able to actually get thru a season in Association because of th emess that 2k has made it, and really hope this year I can finally play several years into it like I use to do a long time ago.

Could you post team's stats and standings? I didn't get NBA 2k13 but I had NBA 2k12-NBA 2k8 and ever year to often teams that should be good would have bad records and to often bad teams would do good. Also teams didn't score enough points you would have like 4 teams a year scoring 100 or more when in really life there are normal like 9-12 teams doing it and shooting % where to low form what I have heard in NBA 2k13 that was still not fix woundering if it is any better in NBA 2k14. Association mode not being imporved for like the last 5 years is what has kept me form getting nba 2k13 and probly passing on 2k14 in less next gen 2k14 is a lot better then this gen. If 2k dosnt improve association mode I may not get a 2k game for a while Association mode has became bad one of the worst franchise modes in sports games.

If it wasnt for the improved defense with shot blockers actually effecting the game this year I wouldnt be wasting my money on another NBA2k game with Association being overlooked once again. Franchise modes is the only modes I play in any game and NBA2k has became the worst of them all. They have really did the Association fans dirty these last few years, and if I wasnt such a huge basketball junkie I wouldnt buy it with them constantly catering to the online whiners while the people like us is the ones who has made them as big as they are by buying their games all these years. It will be a while before I can buy a next gen PS4, but when I finally do I will give NBA Live a real long hard look if they have concentrated on Association mode, although I dont have much faith in EA getting Association mode or gameplay right, but maybe they will shock me for once.

One thing I haven't seen anyone talk about regarding Association Mode is COACHES and the ridiculous coaching carousel after a few years.

Does every coach still end up on 1 year contracts changing teams at the end of every season regardless of the teams success? Do the generated coaches still have pre rendered photos that do not match what the actual Coach looks like? Can you promote Assistant Coaches to Head Coaches yet?

This has been a big issue for me in Association mode for the past couple of years.

Thanks for going through the mode for us!

EDIT: I also was wondering if we can put Euroleague players onto NBA teams or into Free Agency for use in Association Mode. Would love to get Bojan Bogdonavic on my Nets in Association.
