I will sooooo try this when I get home. My PF is in the best situation IMO. He is now starting as the center because Duncan is at PF. That just means I am way faster/quicker than whoever is guarding me. Anyways, I will try the d-pad and make them drive at ME. Maybe I can average more than 3 blocks a game this way. Besides, NOTHING is as bad as that open 3 when they are shooting 50%+ on me.

Question: with the extra perimeter D, do your guys tire faster? What about the opponent'a 3pt percentage? Is it lower but their 2 pt shots higher? Currently in my games the opponent takes a MIN of 20 3pt shots making at least 8. One team shot 48 at me. I would too if the opponent sagged off me by 10 feet.

The only thing I'm not sure about is

since you have a PF, I don't know if you can do it. It might be limited to pgs or those who can call plays. Not sure as I ONLY play pg, no other position.

I've never looked at the opponents percentage since I've started using it. I WILL say that the number of attempts has DRASTICALLY decreased since I've started using it. The computer now only attempts wide open 3s after ball reversal or rebounds...that kind of thing...not just shooting it cause the defender is laying off

Yep, and how they call for the pass then decide "I should go behind the person guarding me as soon as he passes the ball".

Or, even though I have a an 85 ball handling rating and an 80 pass rating as soon as I touch the ball behind the 3 pt line both guards run up to me calling for the ball, trying to get it out of my hands instead of getting open for a Point-Forward SF with dimer and floor general.

I have a Point-Forward style SF, so I have been able to do it from the beginning, but you may need the 'On Court Coach' skill to do it. It doesn't work too well anyways as all it really does is let the hellbent on attacking the paint CPU attack even easier.

works well for me

better to have the computer attack the paint where I have a guy who is a defensive anchor with 96 block waiting

than to let them just shoot me into the ground with 3s

Oh yeah another thing, the passing in this game sucks too. You shouldn't be in the NBA if you can't make a chest level and it goes soaring over them.

If 2k would have spent more time on things we actually wanted (summer league, preseason, realistic draft process, etc.) Instead of this flashy pass stuff most of us will barely use, there would be little to no complaints.

Well, it absolutely does not work for my power forward. The only option you get is what defense you want to run. There are no intense perimeter choices whatsoever. I am majorly bummed right about now.

Can anyone else pick something in defense other than then norm? If so, what position are you? Are you in Xbox 360, PC, etc? What digs do you have? Maybe that is it.

Hi All

I have searched and searched about this. But does anyone know of a break down guide or something on how to set up MyCareer players?

Like I want to know how to get what maximum stats etc. I have made two players now a PG and a SF, but no matter what I do I can't for example get 3 pt maximum to 99, this is just one of the stats I have tried (since its the most easy or so I thought to select all 3pt playstyles in creation).

So yeah. Does anyone know the ins and outs of max stats when creating players.

The only way to get any stat to 99 is to have that stat at 89+ and buy a +10 training boost, 92 is the new stat cap this year otherwise.

Sorry it's not working for you mike. And you ARE pushing LEFT on the control pad right?

Maybe since you're a pf you have to have the on court coach sig skill before it can work for you.

I play pg on HOF/Sim and it works fine for me.

Maybe if you create a pg just to test it out. doesn't matter where you get drafted.....

Nothing. Everything is pretty the same as last year aside from the draft and a few bugs fixed, such as the All-Star starting.

Really? Man that sucks and is pointless. I still don't understand why they lock down MyCareer so much.

Anyone had any luck changing the max stats with CheatEngine?

I'm a SG with the Celtics.

I complained about losing (even though we're still sixth in the East right now) and requested five Centers.

Ended up with Bynum and Jarrett Jack for Rondo and Jeff Green.

I'm happy with the trade overall as Jack complements my SG better and balled out in his first game with the team. Bynum will be a problem IF he stays healthy...he sprained his elbow before he could make it to his first game

But now I have Gerald Wallace starting at SF and there's a log jam at guard. Bradley, Lee, Brooks, and Crawford and for some reason they all get even minutes so Bradley's talent is being wasted.

I want to get Bradley and maybe Brooks or Crawford traded for an upgrade at SF. I'd settle for being started at the 3 with Bradley moving into the starting 2 guard spot but I doubt that's going to happen.

If I complain about a player the GM just tells me to get over it. How do I get Bradley traded? Can I do the pick 5 players thing twice in the same season?

So, I managed to answer my own question. I wasn't successful in getting Bradley traded specifically but they moved him into the starting lineup with me at the 3 a game or two later. He stayed there when Bynum came back.

A few games later I get the 'I'm tired of losing' option again and can pick another five players. I'm not sure who to choose though. I don't really like Bradley starting as an undersized SG and would happily swap him for a similarly rated wing like Caron, Deng, or Batum who can play solid D and spread the floor.

But Jack is getting abused by opposing PGs. Jrue Holiday and Westbrook embarrassed us in back to back games. I'm debating whether I should try getting a Lowry, Hill, etc. who will just play defense and play the perimeter off of myself and Bynum.

It doesn't work for me even as a SG. I can changed the defense with right on the d-pad and change the offensive play with Y/triangle but that's about it.

On Court Coach wouldn't be bad to have but I play on the PC so I can't earn VC. It would take half a season to get 10k points together.

I have not been able to enable this feature on the PC either - there are a few "controls" I have not yet defined, so one of those might be the needed control but it is not as much of a pressing concern of mine so I've been too lazy to try to figure it out.
