Push left on the dpad while on defense and it will give you the option of how you want your guys to play....defensive strategy

Just be mindful that if you tell them to pressure shooters, then the computer players will start driving around your defenders. This works for me cause I'm a pg on the bucks and I have Larry Sanders behind me cleaning up any defensive mistakes we might make

So you may not want to try it if you don't have a defensive anchor or good defenders. I did this against the heat and the very first play, Lebron drove by caron butler and before any of us could react he dunked it on him for the and 1

but we did win 113-111 with me making the game winning free throws after mario chalmers fouled me with one sec left and the heat having no time outs
I will sooooo try this when I get home. My PF is in the best situation IMO. He is now starting as the center because Duncan is at PF. That just means I am way faster/quicker than whoever is guarding me. Anyways, I will try the d-pad and make them drive at ME. Maybe I can average more than 3 blocks a game this way. Besides, NOTHING is as bad as that open 3 when they are shooting 50%+ on me.

Question: with the extra perimeter D, do your guys tire faster? What about the opponent'a 3pt percentage? Is it lower but their 2 pt shots higher? Currently in my games the opponent takes a MIN of 20 3pt shots making at least 8. One team shot 48 at me. I would too if the opponent sagged off me by 10 feet.

My biggest 'pet peeve' is STILL being subbed into the game for the first time.. the next basket for either team, a timeout is called.. always the same in 12, 13, and now 14

My PG can't hit a shot, but is fouled on EVERY layup attempt it seems.. at least someone on my T'Wolves team gets to shoot freethrows even if I'm only at 75%

It don't matter who is guarding you your speed makes no difference. CPU will still brick wall defend you encase you didn't know.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

I'm past the 2nd year AS Break with my Andrew Wiggins SF career with the Kings. My guy is really hitting his stride, as I was just named MVP of the AS Game and the Rising Stars game as I played both and just hogged the heck out of the ball. I started the AS game at PF since Durant was the SF. No biggie. The East had Carmelo at PF too, so I wasn't over matched. The worst part about the AS game is that it's set in Houston........ huh? Moving on.... I think I've found the greatest sig skill ever: On Court Coach. Might cost 10k VC, but it's worth it. You can call plays when not a PG and they pass it to you nearly every single time you call for it. It even seems that my teammates play better with this skill equipped.

Surprisingly, we're actually in 2nd place in the West even with Jimmer Fredette starting at PG. My Lord he's awful as a starting PG. He has 61 in passing for Pete's sake! SIXTY ONE. I've tried to get him and numerous other guys traded (mostly just him, Thornton and Travis Outlaw because they never play him), but every time I ask for it the GM shoots me down. I'm hoping he changes his mind next year (we're past the trade deadline now) and finally picks up a capable PG and gets rid of Thornton so BMac can finally start at SG (Their minutes are getting closer though. BMac is at around 22 with Thornton at 29). I wouldn't mind Jimmer as a backup PG because he can drain 3's, but as a starting PG he's awful. I'm averaging about 20ppg to go along with 8 boards with 5-6 assists per game. I'm playing 48 minutes a game too, which I think is entirely too many. I should probably get rid of the Gatorade sig skill and maybe it'll go down.

Best part about playing last night: I'm going against Durant and the Thunder and I iso myself against Durant. I do a pretty lame triple threat move and Durant just falls over. All I did was fake to one side and he just fell over like a sniper got him. Pretty hilarious.

That's my biggest pet peeve with the gameplay itself. No matter who's guarding you, you can't blow by them. Whether there good defenders or not.

works for me...y'all should give it a try
I have not been able to do this with my SF. Am I correct that this team command only works if you are playing the PG position?

I have a Point-Forward style SF, so I have been able to do it from the beginning, but you may need the 'On Court Coach' skill to do it. It doesn't work too well anyways as all it really does is let the hellbent on attacking the paint CPU attack even easier.

Know what pissed me off most about this mode? I was told by Ronnie 2k himself on Twitter that they fixed that stupid teammate **** where they wont take the open shot.

It's still there. I pass it out to Melo wide open on the wing he decides to go to the hoop instead. Melo in real life wouldn't pass up a shot like that in his life.

It's still there and so is stupid spacing by teammates on offense.

I've been able to cross people like Rose, Wade, and LeBron. But as far as getting past them without crossing them up its impossible. The screens are really weak too.

Ronnie doesn't know much about basketball

Ah, but have you tried using the pick and roll with your pf holding the ball? I got to throw down three hammers in the last game because the computer center had NO ability to get in front of my pf playing center guy. It was freaking sweet! Yes, the defender recovers too quickly and it is almost impossible to just blow past a defender without a screen or doing some fake. However, with the right setup it becomes dunk city! Hey, it beats the annoying complete miss after I faked the defender out of his sox in the low post!

And they can all evade screens like Houdini. Playing a PG is a nightmare right now(on the Mavericks with VC injured for the season), Ellis won't take any open shot, always tries to drive into the teeth of the D, Ellington misses everything, and I'm rarely on the court with Calderon(who the team won't trade, just relegated him to like 10 minutes a game while I start).

I'm pretty frustrated with the game right now.

Yep, and how they call for the pass then decide "I should go behind the person guarding me as soon as he passes the ball".
