It doesn't work for me even as a SG. I can changed the defense with right on the d-pad and change the offensive play with Y/triangle but that's about it.

On Court Coach wouldn't be bad to have but I play on the PC so I can't earn VC. It would take half a season to get 10k points together.

Yeah, I know it seems like 2k has screwed PC users for a while

at least from what I read online

I'm on the 360...maybe that's why I can get it done

Well, it absolutely does not work for my power forward. The only option you get is what defense you want to run. There are no intense perimeter choices whatsoever. I am majorly bummed right about now.

Can anyone else pick something in defense other than then norm? If so, what position are you? Are you in Xbox 360, PC, etc? What digs do you have? Maybe that is it.

Are you sure you're pushing LEFT and NOT right?

right lets you call the plays on defense...

left should give you the pressure option...

unless maybe you're on PC or something, then I have no answer

So did most people just start of with the default roster? I waited last year until a custom one came out. I really want to start one now as I just got the game yesterday and can't be bothered waiting.

How is the default roster compared to other years in regard to player performance once you get up an running and are the stupid tendencies still there where I will have someone like Roy Hibbert chuck up a random 3?

The default roster looks good compared to previous years in regards to accessories though most players have branded shoes and such

I got traded to Warriors for Stephen Curry im in a 91 Overall now in my 2nd season and this like the perfect squad to play with everyone actually shoots, they also before i got traded there they had traded Andrew Bogut and David Lee for Danilo Gallinari and Marc Gasol so we have
PG:Me
SG:Klay Thompson
SF:Andre Iguodala
PF: Danilo Gallinari
C:Marc Gasol
but anyways They literally shoot all open shots with ease and it makes it so much easier on me to not sit here and play with dumb teammates most perfect team I've ever been on.

Tanked interviews, and got drafted by the Pacers.

The computer is stupid. Nothing seems to be changed at all. Teammates doesn't hit wide open shots, but my opponent does.

This is annoying.

I was just on Pacers and yes that is very annoying even Danny Granger wont shoot wide open sometimes.

I have not been able to enable this feature on the PC either - there are a few "controls" I have not yet defined, so one of those might be the needed control but it is not as much of a pressing concern of mine so I've been too lazy to try to figure it out.

I actually use a wired 360 controller. I have full play calling outside of My Career. And my actual attributes are still in the low 70s but I got the 'top 10 player in the league' milestone already so I'm pretty well-respected on my team.

I think you just have to a be PG or have the On Court Coach skill.

Other than PG or Point-Forward SF you need the On Court Coach sig skill. I had an SG whose secondary position was PG and even he needed On Court Coach to to defenses and defensive settings.

SN: Double-doubles with anything other than PTS/REBs don't count for SM challenges which is stupid.

I dropped 52 points and had 12 assists against the 'Blazers and failed my SM challenge of getting a double-double.

After 3 tries I finally got my guy drafted to the Knicks

Bombed the showcase and went to NY at #24. I had about 15k VC saved up so I increased some attributes, mainly the physical attributes as I always feel it's more realistic to come into the NBA with your physical traits (speed, quickness, vertical) in tact, those aren't really things that develop. So I maxed quickness to 92 (92? Seriously? Is there any way to increase this? Or do I just need to buy a certain pair of shoes?) and Speed to 90/92 (again, 92 is ridiculous. There are probably 10 PG's in the NBA with more speed than that). I increased layup to 90, some minor increases to ball handling & passing, bought a shooting sleeve and now I'm ready to play game #1.

You know you're having a BAD game when a dynamic goal pops up "Make your next shot" shot 2 for 11 vs the Lakers but T'Wolves win by 9.. 4 boards 3 assists for my backup PG, playing more SG of course.. just doing what I can to get team chemistry up so they'll shoot when I pass.. hasn't improved at all except they ARE passing me the ball when I'm open with chemistry nearly 60% now.. started at 49% in this career. Can't get the jumper timing right yet

As for people saying they can't blow by slower defense guys I've done that ..that's the ONLY time I get assists.. blowing by and dishing to the big guys underneath..

Beat the Clippers for 6 wins in a row for the TWolves..and now the game can't retrieve data from 2k server.. so much for a game that actually turned out really good with points, assists AND rebounds .. awesome time for the 2k server to not work. May have to give up on 2 AM games of 2k14. The only good thing I guess is I got my VC as far as I can tell.. just can't go back into 'My Career'.. at least they warn you that it'll change to offline if you do

So i just ran into a scripted loss. I was 38-11 on a 6-game winning streak. playing the grizzlies, 1st quarter, we're winning by 10, i get subbed come back 2nd quarter and were down by 15 WTF? so i bring it to a tie game then get subbed immediately again, come back and im down 15 again with 2 mins left in the fourth. So i quit the game and try again, same thing happened. After the third time, i gave in to the loss. SMH!

Sorry it's not working for you mike. And you ARE pushing LEFT on the control pad right?

Maybe since you're a pf you have to have the on court coach sig skill before it can work for you.

I play pg on HOF/Sim and it works fine for me.

Maybe if you create a pg just to test it out. doesn't matter where you get drafted.....

Yeah, I was quite bummed about it. I think it is STUPID for them not to allow it regardless of position. My pg has the ability but none of my other positions have it. I always get my VC up and then take my guy offline so that I never spend the VC. I then save each type of guy with the full sp. I will take one of them and test out the court coach skill. If it ends up being true, double shame on 2k. So, of the 5 sig skills two are now the "have to have regardless"? I mean who does not take the Gatorade one? You are crazy not to. If you want to play REAL defense..aka don't leave the shooters wide open at the three point line...you have to blow 10k...freaking ouch.

My win vs. Clippers didn't count, have to play that again.. BUT I kept the VC from it.. interesting
