I'm in the group of the older generation of gamers staring at the end of the line, I'm never buying an Xbox One or PS4 so this will probably be my last video game purchase - potentially ever. I barely have any time for video games and that's not changing soon so I can't justify the cost of going to next gen. I'll wait to see if I can get this game for $30 or so and then I'll pull the trigger.
You are right where I'm at. I'm 42 - the 360 is my last gaming console. That's it. I'm done doing rosters and sliders, as I know the time has come. Both a fading interest and my schedule - like you... I am also disappointed in what these consoles have become. I'm a gamer. I don't need all these added bells and whistles in an "entertainment" console. I purchase my sports packages through DirecTv, and my wife gets our movie rentals through her Redbox account. I just don't want all that extra crap...

          Re: Last gen impressions?

Well reinstalled my game and it took forever to load, thought it was going to lock up again but I started wiggling the controller sticks and it went to the home screen, lol. I actually think 2k is having server issues and thats why its acting goofy, probably wouldnt have had to uninstall then reinstall the game after all

Just played a game with 2 Euro teams, cant think of the team I used but it had Charles Jenkins on it, and I played Russia. Sonny Weems is a beast, he was good last yr on the game but he is even deadlier this yr. Man if he played like he does on 2k IRL he would be a Super Star

It seems like every time I play a game I see some better animations this yr. While the AI is still overpowered on the reb side of things, I have seen some pretty rebound animations. They just seem to grab the reb with more force this yr which is nice.

That issue with players in foul trouble not being taken out and fouling out early wasnt fixed, so thats not good. Really wish they would have atleast fixed that, they had always had that right until last yr when they screwed it up, and refused to fix it last yr in a patch and its still their this yr.

It still amazes me no more than they did to this game, I never thought they would get this lazy. I think all they did was add a few better animations and possibly tighten up D some and thats it from last yr. Considering how good the game was last yr, if they would have put some effort into 15 on fixing little things like the foul issue with players not being taken out would have went along way, with me as well as probably other on paying 60$. While I am glad some of the animations are better with gameplay, I wish they would have fixed the not subbing out with foul trouble problem.

ONe other thing I did notice or it seems like it anyway is players seem to have a little weight valued, and they play rougher on the blocks, which is great. Maybe thats just me and if I hadnt deleted 14 I would play it just to see if there is actually a difference or if its just me not remembering because it had been a few months since I had played 14.

Actually a lot of people care about generated rookies because of My Player, it will ruin that mode in a few years as well as Association if you dont use custom draft classes.

It dont effect me because I only play Association and use Custom draft classes, but I dont htink you can use custom drafts classes in My Player, so I can see why a lot of people would be upset about it.

I get what your saying but for those that play My Player and to a lesser degree those thatwant to use Genrated rookies in their Association it does affect gameplay agreat deal.

I did go thru a generated draft class just to see if it was a fluke that it happened to some people but every draft class has players ballhandling and off awar at 25. Not sure if thats something new they screwed up or if it was like that in 14 too, since I use only custom drafts, but it is something that people have a right to be upset about.

              Re: Last gen impressions?

Man... This thread is as depressing as walking into a gym to find a lonely kid bouncing a ball by himself. As a PC gamer who now has the next gen version, I really wish that the game remained last gen with the proper updates and improvements.

Have you read the PC forum about this year's game? It's a bit of a disaster in my opinion.

First, the game is download only and requires one to book vacation time off of work to download.

Secondly, the specs released by 2K for the game don't seem to be correct as gamers with powerful PCs are having to adjust their settings to get the game to run smooth (ya, I want to upgrade, but the current situation is making me worry as to what to upgrade to.)

The only benefits I value from this next gen game are those that could/should/were available in the past.

Other than new players and the Hornets, I would be well happy with a slightly improved last gen game.

I play my player? am totally fine with that, its about my player, i don't care what some generated rookies might do, i also play association and do custom drafts, i usually make my own 5 best players of each draft and there, am happy seeing their results, i won't complain on that, i can see how a person that doesn't play online might be mad with these things, but then again, the highlighted feature that was announced for the game was the return of crew, which is an online mode, that being said all their effort went into gameplay and crew, for all the people that requested the mode, that was basically their selling point, as crew alone carried a big part of 2k11, even after the servers went down because of new games being released, people were mad at them for shutting them down, that says something, that being said to expect improvements in other modes was kind of obviously not gonna happen, since aside from how you may see it, i say the majority of the users play online more than association, and 2k probably thinks that too, they obviously didn't go on detail with the little things, but for a crew surrounded player like me, i could care less, thats why i mentioned that i only recommend people to get the game if their gonna play online too.

                  Re: Last gen impressions?

Been playing MANY games since launch and this is the BEST NBA 2K EVER!! 2K14 had less improvements from 13 if you ask me. The only difference I noticed from 13 to 14 was some more animations, better collisions and you could actually block a dunk in 13 it was impossible to block a dunk. In 15 the overlays look different, the game play is way smoother and the players move WAY more responsive. This is the best D in the series since 2K8 and 2K11. The new shooting is way harder which is great for online. A few new camera angles are present and there are even more animations then last years. This 2k goes with 2k8 and 2K11 as my favorites. I felt way more ripped off last year going from 13 to 14. This game is GREAT!! I have bought every 2K game ever made the year they came out take my word. I hated 2K12 probably the worst and I felt 09 and 10 were pretty mediocre if that helps.

ya, because it will basically make the game unplayable in My Player and Association after a few years. Keep writing, it is funny.

I am in a pretty similar demographic & situation, and feel pretty much the same way. Although not quite drawing the line in the sand yet. I am in no hurry to jump to the next gen, but might upgrade in a year or so if the right deal comes along? Perhaps Microsoft or Sony down the road will recognize a market that just wants a video game system, and offer a scaled down version of the console? For now, I have plenty of 360 games that haven't been played to thier fullest.
