I rented it on redbox for the 360 and rosters aren't up to date but i don't play online so i just updated them myself it wasn't a big deal. As for the gameplay there is definitely a difference from 14. I saw new animations and the blocking is toned down from 14. All in all it's a good game sort of what I expected nothing major idk if I'm willing to spend $60 on it but no complaints this way it's a video game i don't nitpick and expect everything to be perfect.

Long time viewer of these forums. But had to signup for an account to post about this game. (If that says anything)

Start off by saying I have the PS3 version and play 99.9% offline association (Always Cavs) and never use custom sliders. I've played about 15-20 games since Tuesday so I feel like I can hopefully give some constructive input. Been playing 2K every year since the beginning and never been disappointed no matter what system/gen the game was on.

With that said, with 2K15 I feel cheated, ripped off and disgusted. And I am not one to complain as I usually am only concerned with updated rosters, accurate and updated jerseys/floors/arenas, just the cosmetic stuff. The rosters were up to date out of the box (Love, Miller etc on Cavs) and after downloading the additional Official update, the rosters were even more updated (2nd Round pick, Training camp players were on the roster now. Awesome.) I quickly browsed through the other teams rosters and the rosters all looked very up to date. The Cavs arena is still the old arena but whatever, that'll be updated soon I'm sure. Commentary is good, they talk about Lebron coming back, KLove and the Wiggins saga. Could care less if it's Steve Kerr's voice as long as what he is saying is current.

So you think that would satisfy my yearly updated 2k fix? Wrong. In my opinion this is THE EXACT same game as last year. And playing as the Cavs every year you think I could be easily tricked this year into thinking the gameplay/tendencies is somewhat different as I've never played with 80% of this new, exciting mega roster. Am I the only one that think the graphics are even worse than last year? David Blatt's face animation seriously looks like it came from Goldeneye from N64. Every player movement is exactly the same, rebounding/shot blocking/shooting it all is exactly the same. I agree with those who have said if you blindly switch 2k14 into my system and didn't tell me, I wouldn't be able to tell which game was which. Before this year, even though changes were subtle you could still feel that you were playing a different game. I know this all has to do with the focus on Next Gen but this is downright insulting. I don't even care about wasting the money, just something irks me about it. Pregame, Halftime, Postgame it's all the same. It's kind of like if you order top shelf whiskey from a bar, you wonder if they just poured bottom shelf whiskey into a top shelf bottle and charged you the top shelf price? Sure the alcohol has the same affect on you but the taste is far worse.

Verdict: I can't complain because it was my choice to buy this game knowing a Last Gen version would get the short end of the stick. But this stick is the shortest I've ever seen. I bought FIFA 15 for PS3 and you can just tell EA actually put a lot of effort into upgrading from last year, it was very refreshing. 2K didn't do anything to even try and please it's last gen customers. I hope someone out there is voicing their opinions to 2K. Maybe I'm overreacting and after time I'll notice subtle changes that I somehow missed. But for now the buzz and excitement over this game has been destroyed and it will go onto my shelf to collect dust. FIFA 15 is going back in my system, probably permanently.

Even EA with Madden15 had work put into it, and thats something you dont see from EA devs to often,lol. I was really surprised with what they did this yr with the old gen game. I learned a long time ago not to ever buy Madden day 1, and there have been a few years now where I have even bough tit because of the lack of quality and work put into it. I actually bought it this yr and its a great game finally. I never thought I would put the EA devs ahead of the NBA2k devs, but I have to say with what they did with Madden 15, and the laziness of 2k I now hold the EA devs in higher regard. Never thought I would say that,lol.

Thats not to say NBA2k15 is a bad game, because its is a good game, it plays like 14 did with a few very minor tweaks to animations. I had more fun with NBA2k14 than I have had with a basketball game since CH2k8, so I will make th emost of 15 too, because it does play a good game of basketball. Still like you I do feel cheated and they did lead people on to think a few of the new gen things were in the old gen game. Namely Euro league players being able to be signed in Assocaition which was a flat out lie. They also made it seem like Ernie and Shaq were in the game too, with the preorder trailer for the PS3, which they arent. Those are the things that piss me off, not the actuall gameplay, IM very happy with gameplay being basically the same as 14, cause I loved playing 14.

You really need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills, because you still have no idea what I am telling you about the draft classes. But I guess it doesn't matter to you, because you are the world and all that matters. Please go back to the 2nd grade and learn the basic rules of English grammar.

You said that the draft classes generated rookies are horrible?.. i answered that.. you said my player generated rookies are horrible... i answered that.. what else is there? you didn't mention anything else so yea, clearly your a troll and just don't know how to answer without insults, am not the world and all that matters, if anything you are, thinking some generated rookies affect everyone that plays, when you can just create your own, or fix the stats yourself, WOW!! such a big thing to do, will take all of time dammit, i hate 2k for that!... no.. very mature with the 2nd grade comment, just shows you can't keep a mature debate and need to rely on insults.

Yeah I could see where online gamers would be more happy than say the offline gamers are. I do think I remember a poll back a year or so ago asking if people preferred online or Association, and surprisingly Assocaition was still the preferred mode. Kind of surprised me actually and Im someone who has never played online.

It fine if you could care less aout somehting being broke, thats your choice, but to say who cares its not important is wrong, Cause the issue that was stated was it does ruin MY PLayer after a few seasons, and that is true. Hard to play when you have a buch of guys with no Off awarness and cant dribble on the court,lol.

LIke I said it dont effect me cause I dont play My Player, nor do I have any desire too, I stirckly play Association and use Custom drafts classes, but I do feel for the people that do play that mode, cause it will be whacked after a few years, and a lot of people will play their intire career out. I agree in its repetitive, but each his own I guess not something that interest me, but Im not going to fault someone that does enjoy that mode. Personally I find Crew mode to be stupid, and have no desire to play it, but Im gald they brought it back because I know a lot of people love that mode.

Bottom line is 2k should make all modes playable, especially when you basically sell the customers last years game over again.

The key word in that association winning over online poll, is, "back a year or so ago".. online previous years was horrible, servers were always having problems, some animations were OP and people exploited them, etc etc, this year though, people who play online will experience something different, because the gameplay is much improved.

I say who cares because is something you could either fix (association) or totally ignore (my player, because your my player becomes OP after season 1 eitherways, 80ovr rookies won't make a difference).

I love crew mode totally fine if you don't, but if you have never played it i totally recommend it man, i made my most memorable memories of all 2ks in 2k11s crew mode with my good buddies, 5 on 5 full rules with your my player vs other peoples my players, what else could you ask for? its the competition that counts, the rush, the clutch (don't know what else rhymes with ush lol) but yea, i understand if you don't like it, might have your own reasons.

Fair enough, but in a way is our fault, we knew they didn't release any news, so it was already a pretty good indicator that they didn't give us anything other than crew, heck they didn't even mention new gameplay, well actually they did mention new animations, but to me they did fix the gameplay a lot, its way better than 2k14s, highlighting defense, am mostly happy cause of that, but lets be honest, 2k has always been based on online to highlight the game further, as almost every game of this generation does too, even though the servers have never really been reliable, people still try to play and rely on online to give them the most fun, that being said, i just don't see how 2k without online is worth 60$, its just not made for that.

If I could do it all over I would not trade in my copy of MLB THE SHOW 14 FOR IT but oh well. It is exactly the same game as last year so you have been warned. I will still play it because I love basketball but yes the ship of last gen has officially sailed. I will not be buying a ps4 anytime soon because I have loads of games on my hard drive from ps plus. I assume you cannot transfer those over to a ps4. Oh well how the market works.

i still don't get why people say its the same game? how? the gameplay is way better compared to 2k14, it has more animations too, its not a few new ones, if you haven't seen all the new ones you haven't played enough so stop confusing people, i have seen a lot of new animations, the features yes they are the same, but at the same time it was obvious since 2k didn't mention any new modes aside from crew and 2k heroes, so if you didn't realise there wouldn't be any new features/modes its your own fault for lack of common sense, online gameplay is better too, the online problem are the servers with their usual probelms at first weeks of launch, but ive gotten lots of games in and you don't get kicked from the game as often as previous years so thats another plus, 2k14 was get kicked almost every game, and if you didn't get kicked everyone else did, its a huge improvement gameplay wise, and thats all that should matter right now, if the console couldn't handle anymore data, am glad that gameplay is what they chose to improve instead of adding some new mode that would still be horrible without better gameplay.

Dude, yes animations have changed yes they are going to change some things throughout the year. No reason to berate, we are just making a point if you don't really like 2K it is worth just keeping 2k14 and updating. Its not worth 60 dollars at all. Calm down man damn.

I am calm..? don't take it personally, i don't see where it indicates that am mad in my comment? anywways, I say its not worth 60$ if your not an online player, but if you are its totally worth it, way better than 2k14, am just trying too inform people better on the game because right now theres lots of people looking for reviews, and if they find an incomplete one they will be confused just like i was before i got it, our words mean something, the game has a bad reputation right now because people keep saying its the same game, well i just want to clear out to people that there are also other people who are enjoying it and won't say its the same game, you go to twitter and all you see its "i heard that 2k last gen users got screwed over" when i don't feel screwed over at all, and am not the only one, those people who says its the same game just judged it superficially and didn't take time to look at the difference.

Guys, if you could help me out with a few questions I would appreciate it. It would really help me make my decision on whether or not to get this game.
1. Online League - Is there any way to play in an online league with friends? Similar to a Madden connected careers where each person controls a different team? If there is, can you have computer teams in the league or just human controlled teams? (Meaning if I have 4 friends, can it be a full league or a 4 team league only?)
2. My Player - Can you make multiple My Players with different looks? In NBA 2K11 I had a tall Center with a mustache. A short PG with long hair. In 2k12, although you could make multiple different positions, the My Players had to all look exactly the same. If you changed one, they all changed to look like that one guy.
3. Crew - I believe I know the answer but I want to make sure, do they keep individual career stats for crew games?
4. Servers - How hard is it to get a crew game? Instant? 5mins? 10mins? Never works?

I agree with leasim this is a pretty solid game,,,looks like lastyear but plays like a beast in my opinion,,,what do people expect last gen is not the focus anymore,,,enjoy

2. Yes but no, you would have to edit the look of each player each time you change from each one.
3. No, i wish, but they took it out for some reason.
4. Right now the game is having server issues because of first weeks of launch, it always has problems first weeks, ive played online though multiple times, not for crew though, blacktop etc, and i gotta say, everythings look smooth, fast to get in a game and unlike previous years, you don't get kicked from games AS often, you still do sometimes but not as often, id say if you want wait for a few days until the servers are back.

not just crew bro, gameplay improvements everywhere, main improvements are defense and rebounding, tons of new animations too, if all you played in 2k11 was blacktop and crew like me, this is for you, its like 2k11 3.0.

Im old, so Crew has no interest to me. My feeling is people should get off of the lazy rears and go to the park and play or a rec center if they want to play together.. No wonder there are so many worthless kids these days

Not saying your that way or anyone on this site for that matter because I dont know non eof you personally.

I dont fault you or anyone else for liking that mode, and while I could care less about it, I am glad they brought it back, and improved the gameplay for the online guys.

Thats all Im saying is dont say who cares about something that just dont interest you, because all because you dont affect you, it deos effect others. Heck I feel about MY PLayer like I do Crews, but I do feel bad for those that love My Player and have it ruined after a few years because of crappy draft classes.

I do feel the game represents a good game of basketball, although I wouldnt go as far as to say there have been a lot of improvements, but there have been a few that make the gameplay even a little better than last yr. I could see where what few improvements in gameplay could benefit you if you do play online.
