It has 2k11's blocking. 2K14 was terrible in regards to block shots. You could drive the lane at will against the Ibakas of the game and they couldn't block.

If you take notice. The blocking response and system is almost identical to 2k11. This is a good thing.

Other than that. Then yes, you can make a case that the game is pretty much identical to 2k14 other than roster.
It still needs some under the hood work to optimise the cpu's behaviour and gameplay. But I can do that so all is good.
Please Nogster, wait just a little bit before starting your tweaks please

This is what Leftos reported about the Association generated draft classes bug:
"Tracked down the issue, should be fixed with the next roster update. Unfortunately, like with any roster update, the fix will only apply to newly created draft classes and MyCAREER/Association saves. Apologies."

I've never experienced this type of input lag playing online.

It makes it virtually unplayable when you have to anticipate what your assignments going to do 2 seconds before he does it.

I'm causing turnovers left and right. air balling shots and missing easy rebounds because of it.

I'd be a beast on blocking with this years system and with all these randoms playing stupid ball but with this delay, forget about it.

I know what lag your referring too, it used to happen to me in 2k14 all the time, but 2k15 hasn't happened to me yet, good luck with that though maybe try contacting them, although they will probably just blame your connection

After more time with the game, 2k15 on the ps3/360 is essentially that car you've had for a number of years that has issues and won't turn heads with it's looks but keeps chugging along and gets you where you need to go..lol. I can tell they did a lot of work under the hood of the car as it runs better after some time in the shop, but not much work was done on the exterior..It has various minor scratches and small dents on the outside and could use a repaint but still runs well..Happy I picked it up.....

Some friends of mine who stopped by over the weekend to play also felt it was a big improvement in the feel department over 2k14.

EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Yeah, I haven't had a chance to play too many games but 2K15 so far has been a blast to play. I'm still on default sliders (All-Star/Simulation) and haven't felt the need to really change anything yet.

            Re: Last gen impressions?

So far I am really enjoying this game online. Had a few games that were wacky but there are few and far between. Still feel there is that games are force to be close but not as strong as last year. Hopefully there will be roster updates to make the game even more enjoyable. My biggest issue with the game is the miss layups and mid range jump shots. Don't know if I should tap the button/stick or hold it down. Lays seem to be more explosive but I'm missing to many even with superstars like James and Durant. Of course I'm not forcing in a pack paint but still missing due to minimal contact even open sometimes. Some I feel a foul should be called. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

I've read the impressions from the writer's here on OS for the next gen NBA 2k. And the main thing that I kept seeing was the AI is amazing! They force you to play to the team's strength and tendencies. They force you to think and know and use the fundamentals of basketball. Is it this way on last gen?? I want to get this game so bad but afraid I won't like it. However if last gen has these improvements for how the AI plays on offense and defense then that's enough for me to buy it. PLEASE tell me the AI is this good!!

This is not an impression, but there isn't really an appropriate thread to post in.

I am on PS3 and have had the game since release. I haven't once been able to connect to an online quick match. I get stuck on "searching for matches" every time.

                Am I alone here?

AI is more competitive this year. I've played on Superstar and most games are pretty close, of course it could be a 2k cheese where they make CPU hit alot of 3's to keep the game close but overall, the games are alot closer and less blowouts

I just rented the game and played my first game on Allstar sim, 12min quarters. I held on (pulled away some at the end) against the very bad 76ers with the Raptors at home. I won 101-94. Overall I was pleased with the AI, but they never take mid range shots, 52 of their 94 points were in the paint. Maybe it was just the 76ers since they do have Embiid and Noel. But I think this is normal for 2k...have to adjust cpu shot tendencies on the sliders so they shoot more mid range and less in close.

Again, as it always the case with 2k. Big stand outside the 3pt line for no reason. Hansbrough, Patterson for me, both standing outside the 3pt line when I drive in with a guard. Like I'm expected to dish it out to them for a 3pt shot??? Why can't 2k figure this out and have the bigs roll to the basket or at least get in position for a possible offensive rebound (which is always low until slider tweaks, but never that good).

I thought the game felt more smooth though. I liked how I was able to shoot immediately after a pass.
As usual, the lack of a variety of turnovers is a problem with the game. The only way to get a realistic number of turnovers is upping steals, pass accuracy, or play pass lanes etc. When will they ever add traveling violations and charging calls at a realistic rate?? Even if traveling was coded in as a random occurrence I'd be thrilled to see it added to the game. Catch the pass and drive in, oops! Traveling violation is called. Idc if I have no control over it, I'd be happy to see it. Could even add a slider for traveling call frequency or something.

I was scared to buy it also but loving every minute of it! The AI is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than 2K14. The entire game itself is a great improvement and much more fun due to the super smoothness and fluidity of the players.

Yes the AI is smarter this yr, and they will exploit your mistakes, but not in a cheesy way, it happens in a realistic manner. Teams also look for their Stars more often as well as if a guy is having a good game they will look for him more often even if he isnt the star.

I thought 14 was very good but never did feel that the AI would punish my mistakes or that Stars felt like any different from just a good player, but this yr I feel Stars play more like they should.

Defense was improved a lot in 14, but its even better this yr. Teams rotate better defensively when the ball is swung from 1 side to the other, and its harder to score in the paint this yr. In 14 I could hold the AI down with PIP, but I could score pretty much at will in the Paint if I wanted to exploit it, but this yr you will have a hard time trying to exploit the AI because they are a lot smarter.

Even without adjusting shot tendency sliders, you can get good ball movement and the AI not just trying to constantly drive in the paint an score. IMO you still need to tweak the shooting sliders, but not nearly as much as in the past, and if you dont want to mess with sliders at all you will still get a solid game in.

The game is still basically 14, and its obvious the devs didnt put much effort into the game, but imo they did do enough to improve gameplay that its worth the purcahse if your a diehard basketball fan.

Game does look the same and in a lot of ways plays like 14, but you will or should be able to tell the tweaks made to improve gameplay.

Personally I really like the better rebound animations, you will see guys go and grab the ball with force this yr, and it looks pretty cool.

If your not a diehard basketball fan, then Im not sure you would want to waste the money, but if you are and have the money to be able to get it then I would recommend it. Granted if you can wait it out till the price drops then that would be smart instead of giving them the full price considering they lied about some things, and didnt put much effort in the last gen game, but still they did improve the game and so far I havent found anything they broke. Although Im sure the things that were broke and havent been fixed for a while now are still in the game as well.

They did fix the Team Chemistry in Association, so it shows the right % for your teams this yr, so thats something positive.

I would now advise you to pick a team that is very perimeter oriented - see how much different the shot selection will be. If you are using Philly, I think it's clear they would force it to Noel and Embiid - makes sense. Try a team like Golden State and see if the difference is noted.

I play on HOF and trust me the CPU will exploit matchups, punish you for slacking on D. AI this year is exactly how it should be IMO, and that even includes your teammates on MYCAREER. Much smarter.
