After reading the review, and the OS Live impressions so far... its not looking good for Sega...No shame, they had a LONG way to go to fix last years game.

However, I can say with confidence that my skill level (probably ALL our skill levels) greatly exceeds that of the reviewer...The 20/20 videos clearly show this imbecile jamming on the isomotion, taking bad angles, taking bad shots...and obviously, if the AI is adaptive, and scoring on him at a close to 80% rate inside the arc...the cpu would see no need to change its gameplan against such a poor defender, which may explain the lack of CPU 3's. And didn't we just see Billups taking a BUNCH of threes in earlier vids? Now that I think about it, I don't recall seing ANY IGN footage of a successful defensive Iso move, so in all likelihood...dude just sucks.

Bottom line, I can imagine that using the right move at the right time is clearly beyond this fellows grasp...therefor his assesment is moot. Its like listening to my 16 year old baby sister's opinion on what its like being a 33 year old married MAN. Fairly useless.

Keep in mind fellas...2K's backdown success has always been pedicated on pumping the trigger in sync with the animation, and based on his skills, I seriously doubt he's proficient at it, or even knows that he has to do it in the first place.

ESPN may very well stink...but Hilary here is hardly the one to credibly tell me such. Stop worrying.

I dont give a **** about ign's ratings or any ratings... IGN gave everything or nothing a 8.5 and it turned out to be a great game, maybe not for some people but for me its the best bond game after goldeneye


so 8.5 or 8.0 make no difference

if its that review is bs or w/e just buy/rent and rate it ur self!

Even bad games dont get bashed like this. Ah, the conspiracy theory...what makes you think that the shot chart wasn't from a CPU vs. CPU game?

because he was sayin he was playing against CPU and they never shoot 3's. we don't know who was controlling the team in the screenshot, but prob is the cpu coz he is tryin to show us they don't shoot 3's

One thing I've learned from this thread is that ...

IGN is the most popular Gaming Review Site out there.

The attention (although negative) that IGN is getting from this thread is amazing.

Correction, IGN is the most popular gaming site overall. Anyways, I really hate the reviews. What I do love is the irony. I just recently wrote up a enormous review (by my standards) on my PAX Gamers site and even though my punctuation isn't that great and I may of had a few spelling mistakes, but I told EVERY single thing I didn't like about Fable and EVERY single thing I did like about Fable and I will get maybe 300 or so visitors to the review give or take, depending on who links to it. IGN on the other hand had a even longer review and said all the bad things about NBA 2k5 and how simming was cool... and there review will have maybe 1 spelling mistake at max and perfect punctuation. They will make thousands, if not more, off of advertisements from just the ads on that review and will get hundreds of thousands of visitors to that review. Possibly a million a few years+ from now.

However who's review would you trust? Most will trust IGN...because...well...they're IGN, they are the largest video game site on the internet. People, they get over 10, I've heard 15 million unique visitors per month and they make millions in sale (but millions in overall loss) and pay probably a decent low-mid wage salary to staff.

My Site (PAX Gamers) gets maybe 6000 unique visitors per month, I make maybe a buck off of Google Adsense per month and I don't pay my staff.

I think the whole IGN vs. Small Site thing is a very good debate. IGN is trusted and is big, like MS. But MS makes good products and IGN does not consistently provide good content.

IGN, both reviews suck. Debates is why Hilarry rated NBA 2k5 and why he had a second opinion on Live. (why do you guys think hillary is still around!!! debated to a site link and if your that site link, you will get traffic)

I think what I hate is a big site like IGN sees money and traffic. That's there only comprehension. Quality? Of course, but if he is bias + no debates/traffic = not getting him. Bias + Debates/mad traffic = Yeah, hire him! If I had anyone even CLOSE to being as biased and bad at reviewing games as Hillary, I would first not let him/her review that genre (basketball games, etc.) again and if they are fanboyish again, say goodbye.

Even if they get traffic in and some extra money, it's not worth it. I'm about quality, even if quanity suffers. That's what you have to give up when going to large sites, quality.
