I just wish they would allow us to choose whether or not we want a nickname and if yes, let us put what we want instead of the corny names they have.

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
A few questions about the REDitor -
1.Will it be possible to switch the Thunder with the Sonics without having to customize the league or create teams?
2.Is there a limit in regards to overwriting/renaming players? For example, renaming those crappy fake players on the classic teams?
3.Is it possible to edit years pro to "1" instead of just having rookie, 2, 3, etc.?
4.I think I asked this before but I dont remember so I'll ask it anyway. Is it possible to eliminate that "nickname" crap and have the announcers say the player's jersey number instead?
Thanks and im hyped for the editor."Never say never, because limits are like fears and they are often just an illusion."-M.J.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
SIDE NOTE:
Here's my last findings in regards that i have found and think that it for retro uni. And none of the arena or street courts from nba 2k7-2k10 are in the game too bad.
See here are the sonics 03 yellow alts and the old red nets alt unis in totally different compared to the away in the game. the alts have sliver letter and numbers and red darker. The new away are bright read and white letters and numbers.
this is the new away to compare

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
This is all super awesome stuff you guys are pulling off here.
Do you guys have any theories as to why graphical elements such as classic jerseys are hidden? I thought I could explain the missing historic players (perhaps a loss of likeness rights), and I thought I could explain missing Nets and Sonics jerseys (Nets attempting to disassociate with New Jersey, Sonics no longer existing) but I'm wondering why they'd get rid of those old Milwaukee Bucks jerseys or the some of the Philly and LAC duds.
With all that said, I'm a little surprised the blue Nets jerseys didn't pop up. Even still, awesome stuff.
What do you guys think are the chances of all these edits and customizing corrupting from overload when attempting to upload or download rosters?Comment

none so far i have 125 team active one my rosters and gone well over the 10 cap space no issue's as of yet. I havent upload anything to 2k share and with all these masive edits i most likey wont put them on there. I know people who have gotten banned from 2k share and online play because of hex editing crew team unis."Never say never, because limits are like fears and they are often just an illusion."-M.J.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
^ i remember reading or hearing someone from 2k say that they added more retros and removed some based on the consumers wanting or not liking some in the game. i doubt that its true because if that was really the case we would have got the 90s pacers and suns unis that we have been asking for years for.
the teams need to make it known to the league what unis they will be using prior to the season starting so the league passes that info along to the game makers so those retros are in the game but as for the other retros i assume its 2ks discretion. ive heard people say that live had a contract with mitchell and ness or something and thats why they always had more retros and 2k couldnt use those because of that but i dont believe it. the simple fact that all these unis are still on the disc just leads me to think that its just laziness. 2k adds a couple of retros here and there every year and calls it good.
as for the reasoning behind these retros being hidden, id say theres no real rhyme or reason. look at the sixers for example. they have a huge selection of retros and for some reason just the home or road retro has been hidden. im guessing 2k was like nobody uses this one and philly has so many already, nobody will miss this one. why would they hide the pacers 80s home but leave on the road, i doubt the pacers said you cant use the home uni. 2k simply just plopped the thunder over the sonics as was evident by the fact that in 2k9 the thunder still had green shoes and accessories FAIL LOL but live still had sonics retros so im calling it all laziness.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
Yeah I've heard those same rumors, we've probably spread those same rumors to each other at some point. I just hope 2K one day realizes how integral retro jerseys could possibly become (or already have become) with the emerging classic team situation. They are surely no longer just there to rock on our own personal "Hardwood Classic" night. They have a real tangible use. So as I've always said in regards to retro jerseys, the more the merrier.
I would love it if they just would of keeped unis in the games from threw out the years since the 1st 2k game came out in 99. And arenas and courts would make the games life span so much more longer and folks that dont like todays NBA would love to play with retros."Never say never, because limits are like fears and they are often just an illusion."-M.J.Comment
