I know this doesn't affect the game as much as the main teams and classic teams but I'd like to know how you guys feel about the Sig Skills that Team USA '92/'12 should have.

Re: HyperBaller/DC NBA 2k13 Signature Skills Project
Tyson Chandler actually proves our point. He has proven that no matter what team he plays for, their overall team defense becomes better. Look at the list of players we have given this skill to:
-Noah
-Garnett
-T. Chandler
-D. Howard
-Duncan
-K. Perkins
All of these guys make a significant difference to their team's defensive schemes and how other teams approach them whether they are on or off the court. Also, all of these teams are playoff teams. If /when a team like the Warriors show that their one acquisition changes their entire defensive culture, then I can justify giving Bogut that skill. Bogut will still have his great defensive ability, but how he affects a team like the Warriors is to be determine.Comment

How about Metta World Peace being an exception to the big man only rule and be given 'Bruiser'? All you hear about is him wearing his matchup out with his strengthComment

Re: HyperBaller/DC NBA 2k13 Signature Skills Project
Hype, nice to see you & DCAllAmerican working on another 2K roster project. I really, really enjoyed the one y'all did last year. As far the Spurs are concerned here are the Sig Skills I'd assign:
Tony Parker - Acrobat, Finisher and Shot Creator (http://youtu.be/uKfCTdjvQwE)
Danny Green - Corner Specialist
Kawhi Leonard - Corner Specialist, Hustle Points, Scrapper & Active Hands or Interceptor (http://youtu.be/soylosVIIZA http://youtu.be/3tO-9Xvymw0)
Boris Diaw - Post Playmaker
Tim Duncan - Post Playmaker, Fastbreak Starter, Defensive Anchor & Spot-Up Shooter (http://youtu.be/fd5xIrkWxEg)
Sidenote: Duncan is no longer an elite player in the post. His ability to score in the lowpost has been severely hindered by his ailing knees. He can still score when feeling good, but most of his moves are predictable now (fadeaway over left shoulder and hook shot) and can be blocked. His outside shooting has improved considerably, especially from 16-23 feet, where many of his attempts are assisted.
Manu Ginobili - Heat Retention or Microwave, Charge Card, Shot Creator, Acrobat & Floor General (maybe Closer) (http://youtu.be/-Xctxnzioyo http://youtu.be/02MqM9Tobm4)
Stephen Jackson - Pick Pocket or Interceptor (maybe Closer)
Tiago Splitter
DeJuan Blair - Hustler Points, Scrapper and Active Hands or Interceptor
Gary Neal - Microwave and Shot Creator
Matt Bonner - Spot-Up Shooter
Patty Mills
Nando De Colo

I agree. He is an exception. Ron Artest will have BruiserComment

I believe Udonis Haslem should have Charge Card and Scrapper. I could argue about him having Hustle Points too. What is your opinion on this?#HeatNation

Re: HyperBaller/DC NBA 2k13 Signature Skills Project
Tony Parker - Acrobat, Finisher and Shot Creator (http://youtu.be/uKfCTdjvQwE)
He has this skill along with Spot Up Shooter
Kawhi Leonard - Corner Specialist, Hustle Points, Scrapper & Active Hands or Interceptor (http://youtu.be/soylosVIIZA http://youtu.be/3tO-9Xvymw0)
He has this skill
Tim Duncan - Post Playmaker, Fastbreak Starter, Defensive Anchor & Spot-Up Shooter (http://youtu.be/fd5xIrkWxEg)
I agree with you about Duncan's post game. I will consider removing Post Proficiency from him.
Manu Ginobili - Heat Retention or Microwave, Charge Card, Shot Creator, Acrobat & Floor General (maybe Closer) (http://youtu.be/-Xctxnzioyo http://youtu.be/02MqM9Tobm4)
Although he still takes awkward drives at the rim, he does not have the same elevation he used to, so Acrobat is 50/50 right now. I'll add that to his other skills until we decide what to do with it.
Floor general is only given to PGs (and LeBron and Pippen) only.
We are not assigning Closer to anyone until we see if its realistic during gameplay or not.
He does have Active Hands. But since you follow them, do you think he should have a different skill that represents how he gets his steals?
See above about Closer.
Active Hands have a steal per 36 mins requirement that he does not me. He is at 1.6 while the cut off is at 1.7. He barely misses out.
He will have Microwave, but does not meet our requirement for Shot Creator.Last edited by Hyperballer21; 09-15-2012, 06:29 PM.Comment

These are all highly considerable for him, since these are the main things he does in real life. I will update you when we come to a decision.Comment

Re: HyperBaller/DC NBA 2k13 Signature Skills Project
He didn't make the Bobcats better. Don't get me wrong, I've liked Chandler since he played for the Bulls, but it wasn't until he joined the Mavs that he got this uber defensive reputation. He's always been a good defensive player no matter what team he played for, but winning always seems to magnify players, or finally give them their just due. I'm not saying Chandler isn't a defensive anchor, just that Bogut should be considered one as well. He averaged something like 3 blocks per game 2 seasons ago, and it's not like he's a weak side shot locker, a la Serge Ibaka. Maybe the Bucks lack of success was due to him being hurt? Maybe a healthy Bogut will improve GS?

While he wasn't the only reason, he was a big part. I think this project is jumping the gun a bit, but by having a blueprint ready now, it will save time later in their process.Last edited by nova91; 09-15-2012, 07:21 PM.Say "No" to railroaded MC modes.Comment

I believe Westbrook should have Microwave, Interceptor, or Active Hands.

Edit:
James Harden should also have Microwave and Spot up shooter as well. Maybe Shot Creator if he doesn't qualify for Spot Up?
