My new videocard is on it's way! I can't wait. Hopefully that will allow me to max out everything, and my game will look the way it is supposed to!
What kinda vid card did you have before?

An nVidea GeForce 4 420mx w/ 64MB Dedicated Ram... so, not a very good one. It still played nicely, but the graphics weren't up to par... maybe like a PS-two title. Really jagged, and no detail on the player bodies, and no lighting.

Alright thanks. I'm looking to pick this up for the PC. I've got a 128MB but I'm not really in the market to upgrade since my PC gaming is minimal. Good luck with that new 512MB baby you picked up.

I have not played with Playmaker's playbook. From what I remember the playbook for all the teams is included in this roster patch. But I am not 100% sure.

If you want to use his playbook your going to have to edit the file yourself using a DBF editor. You can download a one month free trial one here: http://nba-live.com/download/pafiled...on=file&id=729

With that you will have to open that playmak.dbf file Playmakers posted here earlier, and than edit every team. It is all numbered, 0 = Atlanta, 1= Boston, etc. Than you replace the corresponding offensive number with the play you want. It is numbered by OFF_1 - OFF_2

Here is what plays are what numberers:

          0 - Shooter A
          1 - Balance
          2 - Rocket Fuel
          3 - Triple Threat
          4 - Options
          5 - Cavalier
          6 - Zipper
          7 - Sonic
          8 - Philly
          9 - Rising Sun
          10 - Rip Iso
          11 - Bulls Eye
          12 - Boston
          13 - Single Double
          14 - Playmaker
          15 - Flare
          16 - Double Power
          17 - Double Back Screen
          18 - Power C
          19 - High Screen
          20 - Power PF
          21 - Mid Power
          22 - Screen Game
          23 - Highflyer SG
          24 - Highflyer SF
          25 - Shuffle
          26 - Scorer PF
          27 - Scorer SF
          28 - Scorer SG
          29 - Shooter B

Copy this file with the orginal file in your My Documents/NBA Live Folder.

If I find the defensive plays, I will post them here. Hope this makes sense.

As far as the sliders. http://rapidshare.de/files/23631984/settings.dat.html

Download them and put them in your My document\nba live 06\settings\

Do this only after you have replaced the AICTV file.

Wow... after installing my new video card, this game is a thing of beauty. I can honestly say that if the next gen versions of 2007 fall short, I can play this game all year...

I'm running everything at Max on a 128mb video card. It still looks bad. How big of a difference would a 256mb card make? Significantly better?

                  Cool.

I've got a good card to play the game at max. For the price Live is I might just go pick it up to see the difference between the Xbox version anyway.

From my knowledge I don't think that matters for running the game at max. Do any games even need 256 yet anyway? I don't think Live would.

Can someone tell me what these new patches do to the game? Do they add new animations such as new dunks and shots??

I think different video cards have different maxes. Like Max on a 256 would be better than max on a 128. Atleast I think thats the case. My games graphics are nowhere near what they are on the gameplay vids for the PC version. I feel like I'm playing the original playstation version sometimes. The arena and floor are nice but the players...bad.

That's how mine was too... but now, good lord this game is beautiful. I've got AA fully on, AF fully on... everything at Max detail and this game is nicer looking than my 360 games.

I'm playing on All-Star I think... I can't remember off hand. It provides a heck of challenge, and you have to use plays to get open. It's a tough one, that's for sure.

One game, Cavs (me) vs Wizards... they killed me by around 30 points... the next game, I slowed the tempo down, played defense (which you have to do EVERY time down the floor so they don't get on a run), and I won in OT by 4. It was a great game. I'm absolutely having a blast with this title.

I went and picked it up. Now to make all the additions from this thread and put it to the test

                                :y4:

You're just as bad as I am man. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as I am. I took some videos using Fraps... hopefully they turned out. I captured one animation that was just plain sick. Varejao sets Lebron a pick at the 3pt line on the right wing... LBJ goes around the screen, both guys go with Lebron, Varejao cuts to the hoop... Lebron is still double teamed, as he goes behind his back BETWEEN the defenders and finds Varejao for the nice no look bounce pass. It was just plain old nasty. It was the smoothest looking animation I have seen in a hoops title, and I just marked out like crazy.

This version has some great animations... and the visual style reminds me of my beloved Inside Drive with my new videocard. It reminds me of a next gen Inside Drive.
