    Re: PC Version is great

After playing a few games I'd have to say I'm converted. But, it is only a few games so far.

It's amazing the difference between current gen and the PC version. So much more real, fun and better looking.

That TNT patch is awesome. The acact 4.5 (is that it?) is also great. I hadn't seen it before but I've seen some cool things with it.

I added the audio patch also but must have done it wrong because I'm yet to hear any music so I'll look into that. Haven't installed any faces, courts or jersey's, etc. Don't think I'll bother since it looks fine already.

Am only playing the game on 4xAA and 4xAF and it still looks loads and loads better than the current gen. The sliding which was a huge turn off for me is better here also. I think I'll be playing this for a while now.

Funny though. I've had all PC versions since 1999 but decided to skip 2006.

Can you get those fraps vids out Will? I want to see them and also see how good that card is. I've got a reasonable card that can run at max but I'm thinking of getting a better one to truly make it shine

      Re: PC Version is great

I'll see what I can do... the videos are absolutely huge for some reason though. I'm new to fraps... so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. For some reason, all of my videos say that they are 3.90 GB in size! But they are only 20-30 seconds long, lol.

I have another nasty video with Lebron and Damon Jones on the break. It was a textbook fast break, with passing back and forth, and Jones finally feeds LBJ with an Underhanded oop for the sick one handed throwdown.

I'm having a blast with this game so far.

        Re: PC Version is great

I recently picked up this version and haven't patched a Live PC game for awhile. It's a .BIG (overlays~score.big) file that I tried to import into overlays.viv using eagraph.exe, but somehow it's not working. I also tried just to put it in the same directory, but that doesn't work either.

How do I add in the TNT overlay? Thanks.

Got to the 4thqrt.net site that's posted on the first page. There four different .exe files. They install automatically. Does anyone know how to add face patches?

How'd you get the 360 controller to work with the game? It won't let me map any controllers to the triggers. What drivers did you use?

              I'll return the favor . . . go to

Get the first one on the list and install it - the driver for the controller. Then you need the XGI file - the 3rd one down on the next list below to map the triggers as digital buttons - you have to load this file through the drivers interface. If you have any trouble with this let me know.

You can run the executable to install this driver even if you have the default microsoft one installed. I did this the other day, but I can't exactly remember - you have to remove the microsoft driver and reassign the controller to the XBCD driver. You either do this by going to the device manager and updating the driver for the Xbox 360 controller - the entry that actually says 360 - choose some kind of automatic way of changing the driver so it will give you the option of the default microsoft driver and the XBCD driver. Choose the XBCD driver.

Again, I can't remember what i did, so if you still have problems, i can try it again on my computer.

Do you have a copy of that file? That site doesn't seem to be up - can't find it.

Bar user 'superstar' highlights, there are no replays unfortunately.

As far as I know, all faces go in the sgsm folder. Well, that's where my Ben Wallace (cornrow) is. Unzip the rar into that and try that. They'll just be a bunch of .fsh files I'd think.

If you can get them down we'd all like to see them

I think there is a sticky at nba-live.com about fraps explaining how to do it. Maybe there is some info there.

I can't believe how different the game is to the console version. The graphics are now so much better and the sliding to me is no where near as bad anymore.

I wonder if 2007 will be using the current gen again or move to next gen?

Holy Cow... I just had my greatest game of bball ever. This game continues to show me stuff.

Okay, I'm Cleveland against Detroit. Detroit won the last meeting by around 12 points, but it wasn't even that close.

This game, I slow the game, and play Cavalier basketball. It was going really well, until the Wallace brothers started rebounding the ball like crazy. Big Ben was coming in for offensive boards, and then going back up hard throwing down huge dunks. It was plain old nasty seeing him work hard. I went to a 2-3 zone, and that slowed him down a little, having 3 defenders to deal with.

With around 1:13 left in the game, I was down by 10... Steve Kerr said after Lebron made a shot to cut it to 10:

"With the lead cut to 10, I still don't think they can come back... but if anyone can bring them back, it's that man right there (referring to James)"...

So off we go, next possession, I play tight defense, and Drew Gooden (who has been HUGE all game) causes the loose ball, as Larry Hughes picks it up and heads to the other end for a two on one with Lebron... Larry serves up the monster alley oop, down by 8.

Ensuing trip down the floor, Lebron playing tight D on Prince, STEAL! Damon Jones comes up with the ball, and they are off down the floor for yet another oop to LBJ. Down by 6, 0:48 to play.

Next trip down, Cavs play tight defense, Billups tries to complete a cross court pass, but it goes sailing out of bounds, 0:39 to play. Lebron drives to the hoop, looks to be fouled... no call... ball is up on the rim, bounces out... DREW GOODEN soars in for the monster two hand putback dunk.

Inbounds pass, stolen by Damon Jones who finds Larry Hughes for the easy duece. Down by 2, Pistons waste most of the clock. Cleveland fouls with 0:18 left on the clock... Billups to the line... sinks them both.

Cavs inbound to LBJ, who takes it coast to coast, all the way down and finishes with the smooth finger roll... 0:13 left on the clock.

Pistons inbounds to Rip... who runs with the ball and the clock shows :03 when he is fouled. With the chance to seal the game... he misses BOTH freethrows... and Lebron James grabs the board... calls time out.

LBJ inbounds the ball to Hughes, Hughes, splits two defenders (awesome new animation), takes it in to the hoop, leaps... lets the ball go as the buzzer sounds... over top of the two Wallace's outstretched arms...

Ball is on the rim... rolls around the rim... still rolling... IT'S rolled out! Pistons Win!

Dang, what a game. It was absolutely awesome. I wish I could have recorded the whole thing. Honestly, it was probably the best game I've ever played. Stats were spot on too... other than both teams shooting 50-51% respectively.

I live that 'split the defenders' animation also. Very cool.

I'm having great fun with this game so far compared to my console experience. It just looks, moves and plays so much better.
