No but it does have an effect to it. Especially when the rosters are extremely outdated. No Artest on the Rockets. We're talking about the biggest trade of the summer and they didn't include it? Another thing I noticed, OKC doesn't have its logo or team name in the game. In the other game, they managed to squeeze in the logo and team name.

Sure those are mainly cosmetic problems and shouldn't effedt the game itself, but it does play on the overall enjoyment of the game. Not many people will like playing with last years rosters.

I would deal with paying if the price was 800 MS points ($10), but $20 is kind of steep. They should researched this more. I mean, if a person buy the game and play it for a week. Use the code, and then decides "he doesn't care for the gameplay" (not bashing), then sells it on Ebay for $45. The person buying the game is a casual gamer who thinks they just got a deal. And then, bam! No, Dna without a extra $20. If they said this out front, so everybody knew, that's one thing. But to not say a word about it and put prices up on PSN and XBL, that's not right.
Boy this habit is as bad as dope!!!

I have to SMH on this one. Sorry I couldn't contribute anything positive to this thread guys, but I had to chime in..

Actually, I do wonder of someone trades the game in, and the card w/ the code is in it, can they use it or do they link it w/ your gamertag?

Get used to this garbage in the gaming industry everyone. As video games get more and more popular, get used to paying for "extras". It is a horrible trend in the industry but it will continue and only get worse. It stinks for us gamers but it is a big business and this is what big business does.

On the other hand, you would think something like this would happen in Madden first since there is zero competition but I am surprised EA would pull this with Live since they are competing with 2 games.

You can only use the code once. once you activate it thats it.

It will only be a trend if we let it become one - send the message to the developers - do not buy the game - they will rethink this strategy quick. EA is taking a huge chance here and it could blow up in their face - nba 2k9 demo has been released and has shown to be as good if not better than Live. once people realize that they cannot trade or sell this game without significant depreciation - they will think twice I bet and could be the motivation they need to pick up 2k9 instead.

I do believe that Gears of War 2 is going to try something similar to this as well.

If i buy the game used i can get it about 10 dollars cheaper than it new, then i'd have to pay another 20 for the DNA feature, hey guess what im paying MORE for the used copy than a new copy.

Well EA, you just lost your self a customer. No thanks, guess i'll be skipping a basketball video game once again.

                Bad EA BAD!

Actually, if you were going to buy it used, EA doesn't lose a customer. Gamestop, or where you buy it used from, does.

EA is rewarding their customers. Not Gamestop's. The developer is fighting back against the retailer who makes money hand over fist on selling used games.

I see no problem with that.

If they can't pay an additional 5 bones for a new copy they should invest more time into looking at the classified ads then using their ps3 or x360.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

                            Guys,

                            I want to clarify something:

NBA LIVE 365 (new copy) is NOT tied to your XBOX 360 or PSN console hard drive. The code is tied to your PROFILE on XBL or PSN.

If you buy it on XBL Marketplace or PSN Store with a used game, it's tied to your console's hard drive.

                            Just wanted to correct everything!

                            Thanks

I think this is unacceptable by EA. It's advertised and yet they are charging extra for a main feature. Also isn't EA the richest gaming company? If so, then why charge? Not to start a 2k v. live war, but 2k has it's insider and stuff, yet they aren't making people enter a code and/or buy the insider for $20.

I'm sure there are some here that are looking for deals, used or on craigslist somewhere for a cheaper price. Please EA, remove the charge!
