I was actually thinking of getting NBA live this year. Just I can scrap that thought now.

The only game I paid full price was for MLB The Show. Excellent game!! worth every penney. With EA games you don't know what you are going to get..mostly junk so far these past few years, see their pro football game..another dissapointment.

Greedy EA! You would think they want to bring in new customers knowing how crappy Live's been. They should be giving the customers a discount that purchased the last two versions of this garbage.

EA, you can stick it where the sun don't shine...no thanks!!.
Lighten up. Not worth the money to you, you don't like their games, great, don't buy them and move on.. This is hardly something to get worked up over.

I'm sure there are some here that are looking for deals, used or on craigslist somewhere for a cheaper price. Please EA, remove the charge!
Oh my God this makes more sense than anything I've ever seen or read in my life.

Hey Mr. Gates aren't you already one of the richest men in the world? So why keep on charging us for Windows?

Windows is a different deal. It's a software package in and of itself. Nba live is a software package in and of itself that advertises to include the 365 feature, yet they are charging for used copies.

Re: DNA is $19.99 on PSN (For used copies)

I dont get how this is a problem...

EA is a business and people forget that...So you want to not buy the game for 60 but would want to enjoy the game by renting it for 5 bucks and get the same benefits that somebody who paid 60 for it gets

if you buy it used then it will cost you 55 so why not spend your extra lunch money and get it for 60 brand new with no strangers smudges on it...

I recently bought a used car and i cannot call Honda and tell them that i want the same warranty that the car owner who first bought it new got...

sure the first time buyer gets it for a couple of years but i bought the car used for much less and cant expect to get that warranty afterwards

some people just amaze me with their complaints.....

if ea charged for the feature even when the game was new then i understand but is free for those that support the game

but some of you think is a rental for 5 bucks and want the same benefits that full purchase buyers got

and by the time you see this game for 30 bucks used we will be a few weeks away from nba live 2010 so i dont see why anybody would spend 20 bucks on that feature at that time

I see no problem with that.

I love this argument. Its used OVER AND OVER AND OVER again here on OS, but its a horrible argument. You think thats how EA feels? If you don't like it, don't buy it. If they went by that rule then they would have gone out of business a looooooong time ago, EA and every other company in the world is going to do anything they can to get sales, they would never ever ever tell someone "If you don't like it, don't buy it." Trust me they want their fans to try and persuade people to buy their game, not just straight up say fine don't buy it. Thats the absolute worse thing that could happen for them.

People are gonna buy regardless, like me with Madden.
Madden is riddled with bugs that make make me wanna become a serial killer, but I still buy it and still complain about it. Haven't killed anyone btw ... though there's one co-worker. Just kidding.

I'm not saying it's right ... it's just what is happening.

Re: DNA is $19.99 on PSN (For used copies)

                                First and Foremost.
It's the Developer and Publishers RIGHT to protect their IP.

EA, Epic... this is the start... Lets think about WHY they are doing this. Piracy and the Used Game Market which is hurting every company in the industry.

They are rewarding people that buy their game new.
They are penalizing people that have given 100% profit of a used game to another company.

The ones that are loudest about not liking this feature are the ones that will buy it used. Buying used hurts the company. It doesn't matter if it's EA with Madden or Atlus with the Disgaea Series. The smaller the studio the more important is for them to have their game sold as new and not used.... much like the music industry. If you have band you really like BUY their CD NEW and not used or worse, illegal downloads that kill bands with a young life... it's one thing if the band WANTS to give you free mp3s, but it's another thing just taking them.

EA wants 20 bucks for the Daily DNA from those that bought used copies so they can't a least make some money off that game who's sales went 100% to the company/person that sold it used and made a profit from it themselves.

I hope that EVERY publisher starts doing something like this. That gives you a reason to buy a game new instead of buying it used since it only hurts the developer and the publisher no matter the size of the publisher/developer.

                                ---------------------------------------

Since no one's commented about it yet:
stephensonmc just stated that if you buy the game new it links to your PSN or XBL Gamer Tag.

This kills about half of the complaints here.

365 Live is going to affect online and exhibition off-line.
Dynasty mode will use a different line of DNA that's to your specific franchise... You'll need to have access to the Internet to get it so those that have no Internet can't make use of this feature either.

As for Gamestop selling used games as new and/or "gutted" copies as new... demand a sealed copy IF they have one. If they don't, go else where. That should be standard for any game you buy that's opened. Now if you choose to buy the open copy, get home and put the code in, and it doesn't work - take your copy back to Gamestop and tell them the game is defective. They'll give you another copy. Situation Done.
