You guys are right that it's a huge challenge to create a cheeseproof game that resembles real NBA basketball online. Having said that... that is our goal for Live 10. We're doing our best to make sure defense is getting just as much attention as offense and that the game is free of exploits. i'm pretty confident that this year's game will be a special experience online. And I look forward to punishing cheezers with legit bball strategy.

I dont know if your allowed to answer directly but have your guys modified or changed the lock down defense mechanics? i really didn't like how it worked in live 09.

I didn't care for the lock down mechanics in 09 either. The onball defensive play has been completely reworked. I'll explain more later.

So hopefully this means no more unstoppable floaters, easy baseline drives, ball recognigtion(to stop fast breaking bigs), and 100% hotspots if not for these i'd probably be one of the top rated players

a really good game can be played either way. It depends on how the user plays it.

that's just my opinion.

Uh oh, this is scaring me. You know we talked about this before. Just have two separate lobbies is how I feel. A ranked sim and a ranked arcade. I just gave Beluba my 59.99 too, oh no. lol

I like what I hear so far. Beluba, if you guys are able to pull off what you are saying..then you you will have one heck of a game.

I really like the "core" of Live 09.

Im puzzled what it is about programming basic baseline defense in basketball games. It's a glaring hole in the AI, in both Live and 2k.

Is it a particularly difficult thing to program??

There's one thing I'm sure guys ( i hope0 are looking out for).

For me, I dont care how many animations are in the game, just as long as they work, they make sense, and i have control over the majority of the things my player does--within reason: defensive resistance, player ratings, fatigue..stuff like that coming into play.

I hope you guys dont get caught up in wanting to match 2k animation for animation. Sometimes, less is more.

Either provide a different lobby with a different type of online game (sim/arcade) or just beat 2k to the punch, develop a sim online and offline and let the ones who want to cheese and play arcade buy 2k.
