I think the bigger problem is that CPU wings don't post up. That's a big part of kobes game and I haven't seen him do it yet.

I have to say i've seen him do it quite a few times to my Vince Carter right in the middle of the ft line, and right on the right elbow for fade a ways

That said, im not sure I like the auto post up because it doesnt allow me control of when and where I want to do it, because as you refer to sometimes I like to post up on the periemeter

I don't like it.

Granted, I haven't played the game, but I would've wanted to have full control in this aspect, plus the ability to protect the ball.

I also don't like that as a defender you can't 'body up' your man anymore, loved that in last year's game..but this is for another topic.

We'll see come next week how I'll feel about it after playing the demo.

The auto post up works well enough, but all it takes is for you to get stripped/fumble the ball away once when you just wanted to post up for you to wish there was a post up button. Why are alleyoops on a face button but not backdown?

Right, you expect your player to post but he does not and you are already planning your next move (cuz you expected the post up) and you end up doing something else you never intended to do.

I thought it worked pretty well, but it looks like Beluba and team are going to patch it.

More options are never a bad thing.

Yeah, I'm glad they are going to patch it. I think the auto post up works in standard post situations, but when you have Kobe on the wing matched up with Jameer Nelson, it's better to be able to protect the ball before you try to initiate contact. This way the option to steal is never there, and the team will have to double to prevent an easy bucket.

I'm with everyone else who thinks there should be a manual post-up and protect the ball button. I dont know how many times I got ripped trying to simply drive to the hole...I like that they reach for the ball but I dont like all the pre-canned animations. This goes for rebounds and steals. Like when u see the animation you know you have no chance at getting the ball. I wish their was more outcomes. Its like everyone has a high steal rating and it doesnt matter who you dribble with, if you see that animation it's a turnover. Im just not a fan of pre-canned animations. (Ex. In 2k9 when u tip a rebound in the air, its me doing it and its not a given that I will come away with the ball.) As far as posting up is concerned, I should be able to post up any time I want. I also think the BIGS should have more BIG moves to thier disposal....especially since you cant dribble with them without getting stripped, Where is the drop step?? and hopstep??

I don't understand why the cpu would want to post up or attempt to do so if you are not in proper defensive position. If u aren't blockin a path to the basket the cpu should attack it as quicly as possible and that is what I find that it does in the demo. IMO the gentle move of the LS to initiate the post up works perfectly. If you don't move it gently towards the defender it will be as if the cpu "pulled the chair" on you and u just may lose the ball. As it is, the system works well and I can use a variety of post move including the fadeaway by kobe (though when done it looks nothing like Kobe)

I don't like the auto post up and obviously majority of the people on here don't like it either so most likely it will get patched.

But i don't like it b/c of the simple fact that i cant post up when i want too even if i have a mismatch with jameer nelson guarding kobe and i want to back him down right away and hit him with the fade away instead of dribbling past him.

But glad to know that mike is looking into getting it patched.

Beluba...How about just using last years control scheme for backing down a player. You clicked the right stick and the player would back-down or post up. It's a nice solution because you can keep the RB button for the quick plays and would be very nature to say. You click the right stick and you use the post-moves with the same stick also. Never have to move your thumb.
