Nothig in particular, but one of the videos said over 90 special and throwback jerseys. I just like that part of sports games. The more throwbacks the better. But, even if 2K has more, I'm glad that I bought Live. 2K just got really boring to me. Hopefully once I play this game I will still be happy.

I've been a 2K guy for the last 8 years, but I decided to pick-up Live based on the demo and impressions that I've read from many "sim" gamers. I almost got 2K again because their dynasty mode is so deep, but that's nothing without great gameplay. A couple real quick tidbits:

I'm not a huge jersey guy, but the Bulls have their 2 different St. Patty's day jerseys - sweet!

I'm really, really going to have to adjust to playing this type of sim basketball. It's not that 2K was bad, but Live really has made this game a true sim this year. You're really going to have to be patient, run a lot of plays, and actually shoot mid-range jumpshots to be successful in this game.

The signature styles of the players and teams are amazing. I'm playing the Spurs right now, and they are very methodical. Parker spends a lot of time between half court and the 3-point line, waiting for his team to set-up the offense. I've also noticed that Manu handles the ball quite a bit up top as well, which is great.

I will post more impressions later when I get more time, but I want to get a couple of games in before my girlfriend gets home! I would say this, if you're a 2K guy that's on the fence and would sacrifice a deep dynasty mode for even deeper gameplay, you will be in heaven with this game.

1st game 12 minute quarters Boston vs New Orleans

user controlled Rondo had 18 assists(familiar)

Awesome catch and shoot sequences...silky smooth

Zero framerate issues on my ps3 slim

CPU Hornets shot 65 percent in the 4th qtr to stretch a 7 point lead to a 30 point rout...hopefully not another NHL 10 situation where the CPU is unstoppable in the final period..definitely something to watch

God my D sucks

nice touch to come out of that game and have 8 rookies in the Hangar(Griffin,Thabeet,Harden, Jennings,Psycho T ,Curry, Flynn, last one escapes me)

28 combined blocks, and 22 combined steals...needs sliders and tuning from EA itself

I'm watching CPU v CPU as I work, and I keep looking for the blood around the CD tray where they stuffed the NBA players into my console.

I played a game vs. the Lakers. Half way through there was a knock at my door. Jack Nicholson was there with his sun glasses, carrying a folding chair.

On the Ps3, no framerate issues or jaggies.

With that out of the way, I have to say that the game out of the box is outstanding. Need to bump up the fouls but I would say that's about it. Played Celtics (me) v Knicks, 12 min quarters. Final score: C's 113, NYK 95. C's shot 49%, NYK 42.3%. Held the Knicks to 4-19 from 3, out rebounded them by 12. They had 25 assists to my 21, and they got 10 points off the break. Turnovers were 16 for them and 17 for me, with 7 steals each.

Was a three point game at the half, but I clamped down in the third and Ray and Paul ran the PnR with both Sheed and Garnett to perfection. Up by twenty with ten minutes to go, subbed in some scrubs and they got a few steals and easy buckets to cut into the lead. A small recommendation: don't try to run a fast break with Big Baby dribbling and Perk on the wing. Didn't even make it to the arc before I got stripped.

Pierce - 24 pts, 5 rebs, 2 ast

Easily the best, most realistic game of video roundball I've ever played. So, so happy with Live's gameplay this year.

Quick question about dynamic season. Are we able to do one for the 2008-2009 season? Or is it only for the upcoming season? I want to play Kobe's 61 point game @ MSG.

I'm loving it! Haven't had a chance to try the online yet but have played about 5 offline games so far just with 5 min qrts to test it out.

It really is the most "sim" basketball game i have ever played by FAR. I was playing on allstar and lost my first 3 games by a bit because i kept trying things that used to work in 2k9 which i had gone back to playing recently. It's almost mandatory that you'll have to run plays this year if you want to win on the higher difficulties. I finally stopped playing like a tool and really focused on playing some solid realistic ball and i managed to win my next two games (against the Bucks and Kings mind you). There are still some small "Liveisms" that pop up every now again but you can really tell they put in work this year. My list of positives off the top of my head:

* Mismatches are huge in this game. I was the Hornets playing the Heat and Peja was getting burnt by Beasley repeatedly and the cpu kept feeding his hot hand untill i subbed Posey in. That slowed Supercool Beas down so they went back to DWade on iso's. Your eye's really light up when you see a mismatch develop when you have the rock and you have to be quick to capitalise on them when they occur.

* Jumpshots are a thing of beauty! This is the first game imo where it's more rewarding to get a man open off a back screen for a nice jumper than any dunk or layup animation.

* Each game is different. Playing against the Suns was a totally different experience to playing against the Heat or Bucks. Great longevity here as this will keep it fresh.

* Kevin Durant is insane. I managed to drop 35 with him mostly on jumpers and 3's vs the Kings and found it very difficult to score with anyone else.

* Graphics are beautiful. Nice crisp colours and mostly very good facial likeness. The odd guy looks a bit off but overall it's quite good imo.

* It's plays great out of the box! In my 5 min qrt games they usually ended with both teams in their 40's and both teams shot between 35-55% in every game. It's so nice to not being have to adjust 50 million sliders and ratings and just get a nice game of hoops going.

I have 3 small gripes that i think could easily be fixed:
1. Not enough legit fast breaks by the cpu as mentioned by CV in his impressions.
2. There is still the occassional time where the cpu will simply stand there and dribble out the clock before launching a massive 3 attempt like in the demo and
3. There is a animation where the cpu player just catches and turns and does a fadeaway almost instantly even if defended and they aren't normally supposed to shoot from that range that Mike W says has already been patched.


Overall i'm really enjoying it and I can't wait to get some more games under my belt and sink my teeth into a few 48 min games as well.

I'll let someone with the game confirm it but i'm pretty sure they have last years games, but it might just be playoffs. Its under Rewind Games in Dynamic Season mode.
