No script here. This is all about using the tools this fine game gives us.

      How I Play:

      1) I am a DNA Nazi.
--- Ive never used the nuggets before, so the 1st thing I did was look at the DNA% of all of my players, I also study the DNA tendencies of the Spurs..and I play the %'s

      2) I play 100% on ball D.
--I want full control of how I defend pick and roll, how I position and shade my defender, and my shot contests

Denver(me) vs San Antonio, default all star, 12 min qtrs, on the road

      Break Down By Qtr

      1st Qtr
      Denver(me)24, 55% FG %
      San Antonio 21, 52.9% FG

Notes: I had a 14-5 run right of the gate, CPU came on after taking a T.O., I buckled down and held them scoreless for a 2:05 stretch

      2nd Qtr
      Denver(me)26, 52.4% FG%
      San Antonio, 20, 47.1% FG%

      Notes: nothing stand outs

      3rd Qtr
      Denver(me) 25, 45.5% FG%
      San Antonion: 15, 33.5%

Notes: this qtr was the turning point, and where the CPU tried to make its push.

      The CPU came out HARD.

They came out pushing tempo, and Duncan was going at me strong, earning multiple trips to the line.

--I called a time out, and slowed the tempo down. I dumped the ball down to Nene and exploited the strength mismatch.

Mcdyess couldnt handle handle him 1 on 1. They brought double teams, and all kinds of space opened up.

On D, I called 2-3 zone to slow the pace down, and tried to turn Richard Jefferson, Manu, and Parker into spot up shooters. It worked

      4th Qtr
      Denver 24(me) 48% FG %
      Spurs 25, 50% FG %

Played my bench for the whole quarter.

      Individual Stats.

      Denver(me)

      JR Smith: 26 pts, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 11-20 FG%, 4-5 3pt shooting, 28 minutes

      'Melo: 19 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 9-20, 1-3 3pt, 34 minutes

Aaron Afflalo: 14 pts, 2 assists, 7-12 FG (beautiful mid range stroke)

      Birdman: 12 pts, 10 rebs, 1 block, 21 min

      K-Mart: 10 pts, 10 reb, 4 assists, 1 block, 27 min

Mr. Big Shot: 10 pts, 5 assists, 4-12 shooting, 31 min

      Spurs

      Tony Parker: 17 pts, 11 assists, 7-11 FG, 1-4 3pt, 48 min

      Richard Jefferson: 14pts, 6-11, 39 min

      Manu: 13pts, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, 6-16 Fg, 1-4 3pt, 31min

      Tim Duncan: 11pts, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block 5-11 Fg, 37 min

      Matt Bonner: 11pts, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 5-14 FG, 0-3 3pt, 24min

      Roger Mason: 7 pts, 3-4 FG, 1-2 3pt, 17 min

      Antonio Mcdyess 6pts, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 31 minutes.

      Overall Strategy:

Play the %'s and try to force Parker, Manu, and RJ into spot up jump shooters.

I would throw in some zone when they were all on the floor together, and I tried to crowd duncan with doubles. The CPU aint, dumb, it subbed Roger Mason and/or Bonner in when I did this for a few trips in a row, so then I would play man.

I made the Spurs pay for playing Bonner.

As soon as he checked into the game, Id run my offense through the high post, and exploit him on post ups, or elbow Isos. When the doubles came, Id swing for the jumpers or hit the cutters.

On O, Bonner's DNA tendency is to pull up near 70% of the time, so I bum rushed him, on every touch. His lowest % shot is the off the dribble jumper, and his "contact shots is 30". He will not score with heat on him, so I ran up on him and forced him to take this shot, if he was going to shoot at all. 2 of his points came on a goaltend.

      Some highlights:

-Tony Parker is a 42% jump shooter, and 60% at the basket. So what shot would you rather him take?

Here i'm controlling Anthony Carter. I see Bonner coming to set the screen, and try to beat him to the spot. Im able to fight through the screen and cut off the drive.

I then GIVE GROUND..once I see tony parker retreating, and force him into a low % contested, off the dribble, fall away jumper.

      Highlight #2

I'm in a 2-3 Zone here. Parker is dribbling the ball. I dont respect his 3 point shot, so I am playing well below the 3pt line with Aaron Afflalo, with my hands up.

I'm able to intercept Tony Parkers pass, and it is off to the races.

I see that Birdman, has a step on Duncan, so I take control of him with off ball, and cut him to the basket..for the flush.

      Highlight #3

Nene is posted up on Mcdyess. McDyess is too small. I start to back him down, and Duncan brings help. I off ball control Kenyon to cut to the vacated space for the dunk.

      Highlight #4

Spurs caught in a mismatch. I see Duncan caught on Melo. I off ball Melo to the top of the key(run over RJ by a mistake, and got away with it LOL).

I call a clear out..give Duncan a step fake, pump fake. He bites, RJ is late..Dunk.

      Highlight #5

Bonner in the game? Make them pay.

Caught in a mismatch again, so its time to dance.

PATIENCE here....its Bonner, he aint blocking your shot. Bonner actually does a good job here. That's okay..he's in the NBA too.

I eventually get a sliver of space, and move the left stick away from the contest, for the and 1.

Well done. I forgot to mention that I abused Bonner's ankles any time he was on the floor. He's a straight mismatch on defense almost regardless of the competition.

          Denver-112 SA-90

Wow. Only my second win ever on AS and I've probably played/started 20+ games.

There was obviously no miraculous CPU comeback here because Denver just shot the lights out. San Antonio led 56-49 with 2:30 left in the first half and made a couple plays on the defensive end and came back to trail 59-58 at the half.

SA had no chance in the second half. With 5 minutes left leading by 15 Melo missed a dunk and Parker scored on a layup and then Mason hit a quick 3 and I thought the comeback was on. Off ball screen to JR for a 3 and that was it.

In this game I did notice a few more of the turn around fadeaway 3pt. shots. Other than that I concentrated more on the defensive end.

          Hope it helps.

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment

Alright finally got my game in and I am cutting and encoding the video right now. Its huge so its going to take awhile so I will post as they are ready on Youtube.

Here a little spiel and then the first few minutes of the 1st qtr

Here is some background info that may help you understand what your seeing as I play. My first excuse : ) is that I have been playing 2k exclusively most of the past week while working on my post game video.

I wanted to start the game out going inside. I know we can't shoot jumpers all night and expect to win. I also want to use time-outs and good play selection to stop any runs as soon as they start. They key for us to sniff out what they are trying to do and adjust to it as the game goes on. Also try like hell not to let the cpu take us out of what we want to do on offense.

One thing I know from dna and playing the spurs before is that they love to cram the ball into the paint. As the game progresses I want to make every shot in the paint be difficult and encourage them to shoot from the outside.

You will see me adjust my defense at the start of the game.

One big key to using the nuggets this year is knowing where your scoring will come from when your starters are resting. If not expect a big run by the cpu spurs when you take those starters out to rest.

You are right. At least the only results that czar should be concerned about are the ones that fall in the parameters of his experiment. So those doing other things probably wont be used for his purposes.

Bls I love that spurs shot chart. You can see clearly in the 4th they were on a mission to get the ball into the paint.

Sportsfly and everyone else great writeups and pics. Hopefull we can get everyone from the other thread to do one. Yes there has been a bit if jibber jabber but thanks for keeping it Den at SA for the most part.

Every 45 min or so a new video should be ready up till I goto bed. The rest should be ready tomorrow.

Maybe it was the pressure of everyone knowing your score.

Hell, I was thrilled just to lose by 15 ... but this thread has been informative and I think it will improve my overall game.

doesnt change how I feel, but hey...Its all good man, I got the win.....game was fun....just 2 things..

                    1) I dont get snubbed on rebounds on Pro like I do on All Star when I have clear position...I had Billups grab a board from behind Duncanwhen jumping at the same time. is this going to be looked at via patch? or is this how the difficulty translates?
                    2) Once fouls are patched, I think thatll make a huge difference as well....espeially slowing down runs

I those are fixed, I could handle the CPU BS a little better....still a great game man...happy gaming people
24th you were supossed to be the nuggets man !!!! and where are you stats ?

Edit I am updating my post on page 5 with the videos guys.

                      Nice Czar! Good Nene work.

I have no idea how folks play on a side camera angle though. I get slaughtered every time I try it lol

I thought it was clear that AS had issues? I play on pro with L4D's slider adjustments and it's awesome.

This game was crazy, I lost 99-100 miss a wide open mid-range jumper with Chauncey "Mr.Big Shot" Billups at the buzzer to loss the game.

Notes- Parker played the whole game
-Bonner killed me in the 1st
-I always play online so i had to adjust to offline and have never used the nuggets, couldn't get Billups shot went 9-26 with him.
-Duncans foul trouble the whole game help me stay in it.
-It did feel scripted, every quarter I had at least a 2 point lead at some point and every quarter I was down by at least 8 at some point.
-Each team had 3 8-12 point runs
-Spurs only used 1 time out and it was in the 4th to stop the clock.
-They out scored me every quarter but the 4th
-had a 2 point lead with 32 seconds left, killed some clock then missed an open shot with Mello, Spurs got the ball hit a 3 right away to go up by 1 then i missed an open shot with Billups at the buzzer.
                              - Game Over.

When people post that they had games in which there were several runs by each team and therefore it must be scripted, I'm curious how real NBA games play out? Don't NBA games consist of several runs as well?
