I feel you guys....i dont know if this has been discussed....they say fouls will be patched, but hopefully they patch the CONTEXT of the fouls as well, just not the amount the user gets..even though that would help alot. Seems like the cpu summons a contact animation and foul at will sometimes..

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
Yea and the cpu can just avoid contact at times when it wants, and if there's no contact the layup is money. It's almost always 2 points. The blocking/shot contesting just totally needs to be worked on next year.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
I put the fouls to max and the CPU got 3 foul shots to 1 of mine.
Like Sage said, anytime I thought I played great D, it was a foul.
Most of the time when the CPU played great D, it wasn't.
Very annoying.Comment

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
Yea they just need to incorporate a way to better challenge shots on the move. A lot of times if you don't have a body between the man and basket you get an open layup animation. When in reality this isn't always true because I guys can still force misses without being directly in your path.
What Live needs is more layups and jumpshots that force the offense to change the trajectory on shots. So lets say you got a big guy on you and your 6'2 you shouldn't just be able to put up any shot because he's not in your way.
Irl we have to adjust sometimes because of fear of getting blocked by doing things like putting more arc on a shot. The game also needs more riding the hip anims that cause players to put up adjusted shots that are makeable but more difficult.
Really this issue and many others are imo time issues. EAC just couldn't put in every type of missed shot situation this year so now we are forced to deal w/ some flawed logic.
This is something that should improve a lot in the coming years I hope. As soon as Live's animations catch up w/ the "mental" part of the game its going to make this game incredible.Last edited by Jano; 10-17-2009, 05:57 PM.Comment

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
It seemed like the same exact thing for me! For every one foul I got the cpu got 3, lol. Wow that's crazy.http://twitter.com/sageinfinite

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
Yeah, and all my fouls make sense most of the time...like a big rotating late... or a strong finisher getting the step..the cpu and human should be under the same logic..Comment

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
All I can say is I'm enjoying the hell outta this year's game. I'm wish I can describe how I play because I'm not having these problems people are having atleast not to the extent some say(long stretches without scoring). Sure the CPU will go on stretches like a 12-2 run but when this happens I kick up the defense rather than push to try and keep up...Last edited by Whaaaazuuuuup; 10-17-2009, 07:41 PM.I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
Thank god because I can't deal with that ****. I swear on all star it seems like there is something that activates to keep the score close. For me it doesn't seem like the cpu works for their points. Alot of it is just dumb luck(shot gets blocked, cpu gets the ball back for the easy score), they get the "animation advantage"(where they automatically avoid the contact, once you see that layup animation its over, you know its going in), or they get the foul called. Oh yea and I forgot the offensive rebound where no matter how much you contest the shot, it's going in.
But a quick cliffnotes version... First half was great. I went into the half leading the spurs 51-50. I was shooting 44.8%, they were shooting 42.4%. I would have been down 48-50, but Melo hit a 3 at the buzzer over RJ to give me the lead.
Came out the second half, and no matter what I did... no matter what D I threw at them, they would score. I went to 2-3 zone, Parker had the ball approx 5' in front of Half court on the wing next to the bench. I did NOT have double team set on him, and he was NOT a threat out there. But for some reason, Birdman and Kmart both went out to double him, leaving the lane wide open for a cutting RJ for the dunk. Next time down the floor, Duncan gets the ball at the foul line, in the midst of my 2-3 zone. Middle man should cover him, right? Middle man runs out near the 3 pt line, leaving my baseline man to come up and cover. Once he does that, the baseline player, Manu I believe, comes in for an easy uncontested layup.
I wish I would have caught these few on replay, but my replays were messing up.
Like I said, I was having a PERFECT game. No cheese, they were leading, but I was playing good bball, and staying in the game. Then something kicked in, and my players started acting like a little league team on defense, making all sorts of ignorant CPU AI mistakes.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
I like the way the CPU goes on runs. That's basketball.
I played a game according to these parameters. Up by 10, the Spurs went on a tear, hitting everything in site even three pointers with double team defense in their face.
One exchange went like this.
I had the ball, they knocked it from my hands four times in a row, but I recovered it. They knocked it away the 5th time and stole it.
On the other end I blocked Duncan twice, but he recovered and threw out to Parker who drove by his defender and pulled up for a mid range jumper. He missed, I recovered, but they tipped the pass and stole it.
Using Melo I knocked the ball loose, saved it as it went out of bounds. I threw it around the defender to Smith for a nice breakaway dunk.
The game got intense at points. That's basketball.
My only complaint was that Duncan hardly got the ball, and I wasn't doing anything in particular to defend him. He scored 10 points on 4-8 shooting for the game with two FTs. He also had 10 rebounds.Comment

Re: Czar's game feels scripted group experiment
I can handle runs. Runs are no problem. My only problem is when your CPU teammates are sent WAY out of place, to continue the opposing teams runs. There is NO reason that the thigns that were happening in my last game, should happen.
Games get intense.... that's awesome. Runs happen, even seemingly impossible runs... but that's fine, and still basketball. But when cheap "weird occurrences" happen to continue or to start runs, thats where I get upset.
This game doesn't need that stuff to happen in order to provide a good tough bball experience.Twitter - WTF_OS
