I think its dandy that people are giving their final thoughts instead of making more smashfest, vs, comparison threads over and over.

i have never seen a thread like this over there.

i think live is held to a different standard, i know 10+ dudes dedicated to editing and tweaking and fixing tendencies and rosters most of the community does not even use anything default over there

YET ON THE LIVE BOARDS WE BASH AND BASH and make more threads to bash

Basically.......like any EA sports game, they take 2 steps forward and 4 steps back in other areas of the game. Good lord if you combined the spacing, off ball control, half court play of Live with the animations and AI of 2K you would have a complete game.

Over all, these living dna and living rosters crap need to take a back seat next year for they can focus on core game play 1st and their servers 2nd. Let living dna and living rosters come last.

Technically there should be at least 5 different animations for every move in the game. With all the ballers in the world, I am sure they can easily find 100 random people to mocap them.

Guess I'm with most people, I play a game in dynamic season every couple days. I'm mostly a dynasty kind of guy but Live's doesn't grab a hold of me. But I keep coming back b/c obvious reasons (control, spacing, etc...). Slightly disappointed as I bought this initially to be my main game, but post game + quirks like balls bouncing out the arena or my standstill pg throwing post entry pass couple feet away from guy's hands out of bounds keep me from playing everyday. But I'm perfectly happy playing games here and there as I don't get nearly as frustrated. Hoping that Live 11 continues in same direction, as Live 10 gets much more time than Live 09 did for me. Hoping for improved dynasty mode, refined post game, and whatever tweaks and bug fixes they can fit in.

In a sense I think alot of people want this series to pull through, but its just not happening, because there is a standard set and they arent quite hitting the mark.

I can't believe people are taking this as a 'negative' thread. In the first post I actually said that the "top 20%" of this game is the best ever in any NBA game.

That's the reason people want it to pull through and go to the next level (finally)...because the bits it does do well are a class above anything we've seen to date.

Unfortunately, as you know, there's large parts of the game that are just flat out poor...and these are holding the series back big time.

Perfect? Ha! I knew you'd come in sooner or later with your smart comments. And try to re word everything like your the only person on OS with logic.

Never said the game was perfect, it has many quirks, none that are just game killers. And definitely none that are worth ranting about over and over again. As this thread was about, your final thoughts and then everyone gave a thought, and if it was said," to be liked or enjoyed". Everyone would overlap their so called final thought with more opinions.

It's like some of us just can't like the game, because people will still come in and say," yeah but it doesn't do this and and this occurs, etc". When some of us don't see it, or don't care enough to let it drown out the fun we are having with the game.

It's not perfect, and definitely far from it. Yeah their are animations that need to be added in some instances that we need them. Yeah the commentary is annoying as hell," I mean Marv, call a timeout on OS".

The fouling is ridiculous in the paint, contact fouls that is! A.I. decision making is hit and miss, some games nothing goes wrong, some others it does. Dynasty mode is too simple at times and nothing really drawing you in to keep playing it, That's why I only play Dynamic Season. Nothing wrong with it.

My final thought is, after the final patch, the game is fine to me, it's not the all of be all of terrible basketball games. It's not a beta, lol! It's not incomplete! As some of the people put it.

Can it be improved, heck yes it can in 100's of areas. But for what these guys changed in the series in a 10 month period of full dev time with each other. It came out better than expected. I guess I'm the only one that sees that as a positive, instead of always seeking out the negative.

Rather you want to admit it, when EA games are released they are put under a microscope and a knife on day one. No other title or titles gets that type of attention and gets put on blast.

I wish people would put more emphasis on seeking out good things about it, instead of always trying to write up 100's of negatives, I think the positives this season, easily out weigh the negatives. This game is good, it might not reach everyone's expectations, but to some us, it's fine for what it is, and definitely better, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better! Than Live 06,07,08, and 09 combined!

Just gotta say, I LOVE these forums. A great back-n-forth going on here.

But hey, I don't think CV is being unreasonable or negative at all. I actually follow many of his threads because I know it's always going to be a thoughtful objective topic.

I enjoy Live 10 a lot, and up until recently, probably have logged more time with it than 2K10. There's a lot to like here, the shooting, the control, etc.... And ironically, it's the areas that 2K struggles with, that Live does pretty well, so it gives a nice reason to be playing both this year.

But I think what CV and others are getting at is, the frustration with the whole "hype hype hype--->Game drops---> okay we'll fix it next year" stuff. Every time I start enjoying Live for what it is, that bug creeps up on me, where I see a big eurostepping thru the lane, or Dwight being suctioned to a contact shot under the rim by Rondo, or Lebron averaging 21 PPG, 3.2 REBS and 2.3 ASSISTS in my Dynasty, and it just frustrates me to the point I just remove the disc.

I said this in another discussion with CV, and maybe he feels the same way, but I truly believe Live 10 is what Live 07 shoulda been, and if that is a stretch to some, definitely 08 coulda been exactly what 10 is now. I mean, consider this, with all the great control shooting and movement, there still to this day is VERY little signature on the wing, and NONE down low on the block. We're talking about a bball game almost 6 years into development on "next gen." This is why I appreciate these threads, keep em coming, because EA needs to know, they are NOT "back" and are far from it when their game has players receiving passes out of bounds and 5-6 players on each team have the same sig shot. They are NOT back. A good foundation to compete on next year though.

But that "next year" thing again.... many have ceased to wait years ago.

All that said, Live is enjoyable (playable for the first time this gen IMO) and my thoughts are that, I just hope that they scrap this focus on DNA and Live Run, 500 sneakers, and get everything sig'ed up, I mean EVERYTHING. The sneaker thing angers me, cuz everytime I pass to a cutting D.Wade out of bounds, and look down at his kicks, I realize that EA found it so imperative to give me every pair of retros, but not to prevent players from doing such nonsense. PRIORITIES!!!! My thoughts on Live this year is, solid game, good foundation for next year, but once again the PRIORITIES weren't right.

I'm curious though. Do you guys want NO passing to a guy out of bounds or just not as frequently? I guess I'm asking what do you guys want as far as things that happen in real life versus the game? Was watching the Knicks vs. the Bobcats tonight and sure enough a guy passed to a guy who was out of bounds.

^^ Yea that's what i've thougt actually what do you guys want really? These guys can't realize or watch any bball games i guess, because in times there are lots of stupidty going on the court within a real game way more than an issue of a guy passing an out of bounds guy.

Hopefully they continue to build on what's there. But they really need to address the issues or else we're going to be discussing the same things once again, much like the fastbreaks, rebounding, etc.

That's exactly what i like them to do with the following series; and that's the reason why i got frustrated for the people just come here and ridiculously bashing game up; because ea need to know that they are in the right direction with what they accomplished on the basis of positive evidence not just negatives and also with positive criticism so that they progress.

So we're on the same boat more or less i believe. But although i know what's wrong with the game; i don't come here repetitively just to critic on what's wrong every single time. People on their own has their corners where to start criticising Live 10; some likes to take a negative approach, some wants to take the positives as there are a lot of guys that take negative approach here on this forum; guys like me and Bshadows i believe would like to want to show the positives, too. So that all those negative things shouldn't have to be put in words by guys like me and him.

And progress can always be acquired on the basis of positive evidence; there is no wrong with it. And also the fact that this game still and maybe won't take the credits it deserves.

I have been a member of Operation Sport for a while and never felt the need to reply to a post. However, Behindshadows may have summed up my final thoughts on live 10 and also the frustrations I have with some members on this site. Live 10 is an enjoyable game and deserve credit for the improvements EA installed. Like all the current basketball games, it needs to continue to improve on certain areas. With that said, it seems that some people on here post comments with alternative motives. They continually bash the game and then sprinkle praise here and there just to seem objective. It’s so irritating to visit the nba 2k forums and read endless praise, constructive criticism, tips, advise on issues, and an overall positive impression on the game. On the other hand, when I come to live 10 forum I’m stuck with “Fox News, Fair and Balanced coverage”. <O</O

I still love it after all these months and play it a great deal. Unless they totally screw things up next year, Live 11 will be the basketball game that I have my eyes on.

@randombrother... I don't mind the possibiity of throwing it out of bounds or occasionally a player catching it with a foot on the line, that's cool. Its just the times where a player will be running the break with both feet firmly out of bounds all the way down court, or will catch in momentum and continue out of bounds. These are what Live needs to eliminate.

@ataman.... I watch basketball religiously, between League Pass and NBATV, and I have played this sport all my life. Many others here have as well. Its disheartening to see guys taking posts the wrong way. I enjoy Live, in terms of visuals I think it's the best looking bball game ever from a graphical standpoint. The control and shooting is second to none.

But the thread is "final thoughts" on Live 10. So we're just in here commenting on Live as a bball offering this year, that's all. Not to be misconstrued as "do you enjoy Live". Because I'm still enjoying it a lot.
