Re: The Official FA \"Bug\" Thread.

I've been following this thread through and through, but I can't really remember if anything like this has been posted.

Anyhow, the problem, as I see it, lies within the point system. Iverson is almost always a free agent after season # 1. Why? Well, because Philly's points available prior to the season are -535,501. They are unable to sign him afterwards because they don't have the cash. Now, I know you can resign your own players while exceeding this limit, but I don't think that "registers" for the computer. I think it just looks at the points available, etc.

Another contributing factor to this is that the salaries are way out of whack. For instance, kenny Thomas has a 7-year, 300,000 point contract...while Iverson makes just under that amount. How is that possible?

Well, I'm confident that we'll find some way around this. Just not quite sure how yet.

OMFG, lol. I guess I can live with that too as long as they get signed somewhere. But I still say, if some random cpu team is gonna sign them for the mininum, then U might as well just sign them for the minimum yourself and then just trade them to their respective team. Sounds like the best solution to me.

I totally agree with this. The problem is with the point system. I have simmed seasons with CHI and Jamal Crawford who is like a 67 is asking for a max contact as well as Marcus Fizer. SO it is near impossible to stay under the cap because if you want to resign your players you have to max them out. Also the "point system" should be based more on the luxury tax then on the actual salary cap I believe. That's All

what would solve this whole mess is if EA provided an option to turn the CAP off as it does in Madden.
