Re: Official Wishlist Thread...

MUCH DEEPER DYNASTY MODE
- Have features inside of the magazine instead of just covers
- Owner Mode with a lot less relocating
- the ability to have expansion teams
- NBDL
- Draft - The ability to scout players
- Show Strengths and Weaknesses, School/Country
- Hiring/Firing of Head/Assistant coaches, trainers, scouts
- ALL-STAR WEEKEND (Rookie/Sophomore game, 3-poinr contest, Dunk contest.

Better Graphics

More Animations (include player specific Dunk/Crossovers that you can assign to a created player)

Street Ball Mode w/ real street ballers (If you can't use real ones then make some up)
- Have the EBC Classic (Rucker Park Tournament). I figure sense a lot of NBA players play in it and it is sponsored by NBA TV then this can be the first video game that includes this.
- Stree Specific Crossovers, Alley-oops
Never surrender, it's all about the faith u got
Don't ever stop, just push it 'til u hit the top
And if you fall, at least u know u gave it your all
Be true to you, and that way u can never fall

Correct the Foul Glitches. There's one glitch where the user draws the charge and then the CPU, if he makes the shot, gets the continuation, and somewhow the basket counts. There's another one where the user fouls the CPU while he's still on the ground and then the CPU shoots and makes the shot. Instead of one freethrow, the CPU gets the ball out of bounds. ITS NOT FAIR!

PHYSICS ... at a new level!!!

NBA Live 2004 depicts physics in videogames at its best but its still unrealistic and not in-depth enough. I want to see physics flood the game, be the difference between running a good play or wasting a play.

#1 ... Everyone who tries to drive the lane gets pushed away, off of body collisions. That doesn't happen in 100% of all plays in basketball. Its quite easy to squeeze into the lane, but the consequences that follow can be crucial.

I agree that you can get pushed off by body bangin defense, *** but NBA Live 2005 needs to focus on other factors, when a player can reach the lane. If a player speeds into a swarm of defense, he will most likely lose the ball, off his foot, or on another players foot. He might commit a charge by running over a player. Well then... how are we ever supposed to reach the lane. What if the defense puts in a 2-3 zone and then where would our hopes be? ... There should be a special button called "Pick up/Set up"... When you are driving the lane, a custom of players is to pick up the ball for their last two steps to avoid stolen balls and take a layup or running jump shot... But in everything, there has to be a catch... Even when players pick up the ball, there is a chance of getting picked off or stripped in the process, and you have to avoid the "traveling violation" when you press the button.

#2 ... Another use for this pick up/set up button is to set up for long shots such as 3 pointers. Pulling up or just catching the ball to shoot the 3 is a tough task because of the strength it involves. I see players catch a ball, and need some time to setup to get a good shot. Last night I watched Stephen Jackson set up for a 3 pointer and knock it down, then he stole the ball and had to reset to make the shot. If he didn't take that extra second to set up, he would have most likely airballed the shot.

#3 ... When you take jump shots, shooting a early will cause you to overshoot the hoop, and coming late will cause you to undershoot. I want that to happen more often. If that happens, we should also see the players effectiveness drop for a couple minutes because of embarrassment and lack of confidence.

One exception to shooting early though... When players get tired they are forced to take early in the air shots, because stamina keeps them from shooting well at the top of the jump. When the USER senses that happening, he should start changing his shot to an early release. When shooting fadeaways, early releases are a good idea too. When shooting runners, a later release might be recommended too.

#4 ... There should be two types of passes. If you tap the pass button, its a hard pass which is hard to be stolen... and a lob pass or easy pass which is easy to be stolen... but... you can catch it on the hop and not worry about setting up all the time... like I said - there is an advantage and disadvantage to everything.

I feel this will raise the gameplay to a higer level... and I hope the EA SPORTS crew will seriously consider my thoughts and maybe implement these ideas into the game.

Offensive rebounding
Don't make it anything like ID 2003 but increase the number of offensive rebounds for both the CPU and HUMAN. If you play games where about 80 shots are taken on average, the average number of offensive rebounds should be 11-14. Some games more, some games less. This obviously needs some more 10 man motion capping.

Mid range game
Just cause this isn't the 80's anymore there still is very much of a mid range game in the NBA. So Live has to have it too. Many shots should be taken from between the paint and the 3 point line too.

These are two of the biggest complaints this forum has. And apparently only these two serious flaws have stopped Live from being a near perfect sim. Considering this I have big expectations from Live 2005 to be the best sim available.

Re: PHYSICS ... at a new level!!!

Just picked this sucka up on Tues from my local Gamespot store.
After 2 long nights of playing it non-stop, I will have to return it, b/c the gameplay is suffering like most freaking EA Ports titles usually do.
Ruins the whole gaming experience.
As most here have already mentioned, the REB sucks, the PGs in this game are the main rebounbers.
Way too many easy power Hops in the lane scoring, also the CPU gets way too many easy fast break Pts b/c my darn PG is the only one crashing the boards & thus it leaves the CPU's PG wide open @ the other end for an easy score.
I will say this though, the Player Editor is kool, & love the NBA Store Gear options. I love tinkering with uniforms & editing players in sports games, although, it should be a lot more flexible & deeper next version.
The freestyle option is really nice, although, trying to guard against it is difficult, but it's looks very kool, but still needs more polish & more features for the Def side of the ball. great feature though.
Hopefully EA Ports (no, it's not a typo) fixes these issues & others raised by gamers in these forums already & add more & maker other aspects of the game deeper, such as Dynasty, Owner mode, Player & NBA Store, Uniform Editor.
Improved graphics, HDTV & XBox Live support would be a great welcomed for next yrs game as well.
Just my thoughts!

Hoop Height

Please fix the height of the rim! I've seen a play in which I was Yao Ming and I went up for a dunk and was swatted by Jerome James of the Sonics, and Jame's head was at the top of the backboard while Yao's head was a little above the rim. It was the fakest looking block I've seen in a supposedly simulation game. Try raising the rim a little bit, and try to improve the ball physics and net physics for more realistic and varied effects.
