Re: Operation Sports at NBA Webmasters Summit

One of the producers mentioned to us how they fixed the super speed AI PGs in last years game. He told us that there was a code written into Live since the 90's that gave the AI super speed to compensate for their terrible defense. This was also the cause for the AI being able to double the post so quickly and then getting back to their man once you kicked the ball back out. Though they did say they still had work to do on the post game, they did take care of the speed.

Fixing the speed problem automatically fixed other things as well.

No more AI PGs beating everyone out on the break.

No more catch up speed from the AI PGs when you're on the break.

Harder for AI defenders to cover the open shooter in the half court if you kick the ball around enough.

They still do, but the producers said that they realize this, and adjustments will be made.

Hmmmm...not too sure. Maybe Shawn can give you a good answer. Rebounding in general was better, but I'm not sure how much improved the AI offensive rebounding is compared to last year.

                    Nice! Thanks man!

If the final product is just as or even better than these impressions, I'll be one happy bball gamer.

Yeah, I'm not just trying to hype the game up. They really did fix most of the problems that were in last years game. The game does play alot like last year, but alot of the problems that made the game unenjoyable were fixed.

BTW, the graphics are off the hook. 10x better then last year. I'm no graphics whore, but I was very, very impressed with what I saw this year. And the rosters that were in the game were up to date which was surprising. Trades that happened last week were already in the game. I thought it was cool.

Tell me more about the mid-range game. What i heard sounded good.

Also, talk more about opposing star players. You said when you played the Mavs, Finley and Dirk got most of the touches. This is good, but did they take most of the shots? There's nothing more frusturating when playing the computer and a fifth option like Devean George takes 15 shots and Kobe Bryant takes like 11.

Is the double-team-every-time Calvin Booth touches the ball down low gone?

Last but not least, what about the shooting forms? Did Dirk have his hitch? Did Jason Kidd have his kind of flat-footed jumper? Did Rasheed shoot from way up top? Thanks guys!
