oh man.. i dont know what kind of animations VC keeps year after year but putbacks are old, like 4 years old... and Live/EA say its "new"... VC does the same thing with hopstep but its just off as far as live is pushing the putbacks.. they were in nba 2k2... layup tip ins and dunk tip ins..

It's just the way the business is I guess.. to take an idea that isnt yours and say it is... thats a definition of plagerism... IMO ( ).

At least they feed off each others artist abilities and try to outdo one another. Except for the fact Live's graphics suck and they make way more money... i can never understand that.... seriously..

And who cares, unless your a FANBOY, which you sound like, one game taking something from another game is good, it means the product is better, unless what they copy is done poorly. I just don't get FANBOYS that have the IQ of a 1st grader, they don't look at things like an adult. If LIVE copies ESPN 2k5 and adds triple pass rendering, I'm sure you won't mind. Fact is, I know you won't, cuz your a fanboy, you'll be going on and on about how LIVE is better b/c their graphics are equal, and so on. Hypocrisy. Oh yeah, just to point out how dumb that logic is, saying 2k copies Live, here's an example. "Yeah, LIVE copies everything ESPN 2k does. 2K has been a sim since the Dreamcast days. So Live, which is an arcade game going way back, is now copying ESPN 2k and becoming SIM."

It don't matter who copies who, it's all about how GREAT the games become. All these fanboys who act like 1st graders whine & complain and criticize the other game, instead of using their darn brains & caring only that both games are AWESOME. I prefer ESPN over Live, except last year neither game appealed to me. I don't care or worry about Live overtaking 2k5, b/c both games have a GOOD track history of staying in business, and if the games take turns every other year beating eachother, it only means they work that much harder to beat their competitor, which helps us, b/c we get a better game. Case in point, we save $30 and $10 b/c Sega and EA compete. NO WAY they drop price if they didn't have to worry about their competitor. If this goes over your head, you real are a FANBOY!!!

I wasn't saying that put backs were a new innovation or anything i was saying check how fluid the players move. Who comes up with what first is irrelevant. Who implements it best is what counts.

I know it's off topic but football wasnt even close. If you can see past the graphics and the ESPN presentation, ESPN loses almost all the way across the board imo. I do enjoy the running game more in ESPN though. And if you take into consideration the price ESPN is the better value, but if both were $50...


Back to basketball. These two look like they will be close though. It's gonna be hard to pick just one. For years EA games seemed to be lacking to me. Ever since those first two Live games hit PS2, I hadn't touched one since. When the Dreamcast folded and 2K hit PS2 I was done with Live. But lately EA is putting forth some effort in their games and you can see it.

I liked NHL 2004, Fight Night, MVP Baseball and Madden & NCAA05, so it's gonna be hard for me to leave Live on the shelf this year.

I have to say NBA Live feels alot more realistic than ESPN. Lets hope that isn't the case this year.

I hope they both are realistic, that way I could get the best of both. I really like what Live is going to have this year, but I'm also interested in what Espn has to offer.

Yep that's what I've ben saying. I just want both games to be good so I can have a good time playing them. If both are good its a win-win situation for the fans.
