They will both be great. I am looking forward to play them and i will definitely get them both. So it doesn't matter which one is better, ESPN has got better presentation and lots of game modes; on the other hand, Live has got revamped 2004 gameplay which should be enjoyable and what're more exciting? AllStar Weekend and New Dynasty mode!! Yeah, and NBA Street V3 is coming out in 2005, i am happy because i am going to have a great great year of basketball fun.

I feel just the opposite, I think ESPN plays more real. To my knowledge real players don't slide like there on ice. To me live looks so faje when it comes to graphics, that why it does not feel realistic. Oh well that just me.

Yeah kinda like Live had Freestyle - then ESPN said ohh we got ISOmotion..

Live had Freestyle Air - then ESPN said Oh you can change your shot in midair..

Live had Franchise - then ESPN got Franchise...

Live had Authentic sneakers - now this year ESPN has Official Reebok sneakers and create your own shoe..

and as you said live has Pro Hop - now ESPN had Hop Step

Live is Innovative and not scared to try new things, while ESPN waits for live to implement things and then copies them.....

1. Isomotion is different from freestyle
2. Espn has had a franchise for ahile
3. Espn already had the ability to change shots in the air and they both came out with the ability to control that shot this year. There's no way that they could wait for ea to say that they had it and then they decide that they want to put that in. THe game is almost done.
4. Espn has had authentic shoes like adidas already and live doesn't have create-a-shoe.
5. You don't know what you're talking about at all so just stop.

2k4 didnt seem to have any authentic shoes, but i think the original even had some authentic shoes at least the iversons were in there

Rawdog805, I'm sure Live has ripped off a thing or two itself. And who cares, unless your a FANBOY, which you sound like, one game taking something from another game is good, it means the product is better, unless what they copy is done poorly. I just don't get FANBOYS that have the IQ of a 1st grader, they don't look at things like an adult. If LIVE copies ESPN 2k5 and adds triple pass rendering, I'm sure you won't mind. Fact is, I know you won't, cuz your a fanboy, you'll be going on and on about how LIVE is better b/c their graphics are equal, and so on. Hypocrisy. Oh yeah, just to point out how dumb that logic is, saying 2k copies Live, here's an example. "Yeah, LIVE copies everything ESPN 2k does. 2K has been a sim since the Dreamcast days. So Live, which is an arcade game going way back, is now copying ESPN 2k and becoming SIM."

It don't matter who copies who, it's all about how GREAT the games become. All these fanboys who act like 1st graders whine & complain and criticize the other game, instead of using their darn brains & caring only that both games are AWESOME. I prefer ESPN over Live, except last year neither game appealed to me. I don't care or worry about Live overtaking 2k5, b/c both games have a GOOD track history of staying in business, and if the games take turns every other year beating eachother, it only means they work that much harder to beat their competitor, which helps us, b/c we get a better game. Case in point, we save $30 and $10 b/c Sega and EA compete. NO WAY they drop price if they didn't have to worry about their competitor. If this goes over your head, you real are a FANBOY!!!

You know, I really don't care if franchises borrow from each other. In fact, I WANT them to do this. It makes for BETTER games for all of us. However, the borrowing aspect doesn't make any franchise better than the other. It's in the EXECUTION that matters.

Last year, IMHO, ESPN was pitiful. They turned it around and it has the POTENTIAL to be a very good game. Live 2005 does as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing both in action.

2k4 did have authentic shoes but for some reason the players didn't have them on. If you created a player they had the iversons and the tmac 2's.
