How do I call a player specific screen?

Note: I know how to call a screen, by using the L1 button (PS4), but I don't always want the center setting a screen. With 2k, I can simply bring up the icon on top of any teammate, hold the button and that person will come set a screen. I can get any of my five players in 2k to set a screen.

I've tried to do everything I can think of but it still can't seem to do it. Sometimes I want the farthest teammate to come set a screens. What's the exact button input?

Yes the white player indicator underneath your teammates is the player that will come set the pick. With the new passing indicator line this helps show which teammate you are highlighting.

This also translates to hand-offs. When that teammate is highlighted hold 'B/Circle' and they will come for the hand-off.

Some others have suggested speeding the game up in the sliders to improve the slow driving animations. I will give it a try later on today to see if that helps. Seeing the same slowed reverse lay up animation takes too long to complete.

The One is amazing. I'm gonna be playing it year round for sure. They have off court stuff but haven't overdone it, I like the progression, and getting equipment isn't stupidly expensive, I like the crate system.

But the best thing: YOU HAVE TO EARN YOUR UPGRADES! So guys who are 99s will at least have grinded it out. And you can grind it all in park if you choose to do so. Preordering, September 15th can't come fast enough.

EA, please just keep building on this. It's legitimately a good game.

Loving the "The One" part of the demo thus far... but I am kind of lost with the real NBA teams. I played two games on Pro, one with Cavs and one with Warriors. Won both by 30-40 points. Bumped up the difficulty to All-Star...and I am getting destroyed. CPU shoots like 60+ % from the floor and me, with my ~45% can't simply keep up.

So...any pointers for defense moving from Pro to All-Star? If I could "get" the game to click on All Star, I'd preorder in a heartbeat

This is my only gripe. pro to easy. especially shooting. pro my team hits most shots, on all star opposite. then cpu hits not many shots on pro, and on all star hit everything. needs to be tuned for more realistic game play experience stat wise. Gamplay is a blast, love the movement of players and how stars feel and play like stars. Controls seem like for the most part you are in control. The One I go with player lock camera, keeps me on the screen, and makes me feel focus is on me. Also, not sure if everyone knows this, but you can tell AI team mates to shoot if you hit X while they have ball.
Facescan pretty scary for me, looks really good, wife had a good laugh seeing that. I am on Xbox (hit me up nights), love to run some live events with some real opponents, much better with human opponents.
I love how I get to decide what type of player I will be, and much sooner than 2k does. What skills, what secondary skills, and traits I will have. Also can make 5 different players!! Maybe one for the league for more of a grind, and one for live events. The Rise was cool with stories, First Take, court background stories. Wonder how this will go with The League, hmmm. $40 price point very attractive right now , even if i just play The One in this game, and franchise in 2k. Will see how franchise is in this game with EA Access. 2k a great game, but gameplay in live feels fresh and I have more control. Will see how 2k gameplay looks as well. Good year for basketball gaming!! [emoji1] [emoji106]

NBA Live 18 has got me hook, line and inker this year.

I dropped to 19th pick overall. I am a 6'5" wing scorer [emoji1] [emoji106] Every thing is simple and not to tedious presentation wise. Fun. I definitely looking forward to what you do slider wise. Also I did change to 80 game speed, really felt good.

Are players ratings and specific player types properly represented?
From both the human and CPU side of things?

I went number 1 in the draft, the combine game was so easy. Had 8 points 4 rebounds 6 assists and 1 steal with 100 overall rating. Doubt I will buy the full game but at least I did well in the demo lol

I'm pretty beast at live not going lie, played lots on 16 and was curious to see see if superstar would give me a challenge. Well I was up by 20 after the first half so was a little worried, but then the CPU warriors went bananas. Was down one with 6 seconds left was going to drive with lebron, but the defence was on point. Kicked it to the corner to JR smith and hit a game winning three. It felt amazing, loving this game!

First off, had MUCH fun with The One, despite control, movement and animation issue that plague this game. I think because of this mode alone, I will buy Live this year for the first time since Live 10.

Secondly, playing the Finals as Warriors was kinda meh but grew on me especially when I switched to baseline low. I'm usually a broadcast guy in 2K but after playing baseline high in The One for a while then switching to an NBA game's default EA Action Low which is basically broadcast, it didn't feel right.

Anyway, everyone has pretty much covered what I feel about the game good and bad but I'll be more specific for the EA guys who may be reading through these.

- I have absolutely NO gripes with how The One is done, overall, altho I cannot get a successful scan of my face no matter what I try. I'm not a My Player dude in 2K altho I did dig last year's "demo" story as well as 2K's early drop of the Combine years ago. For some reason, I just never dig into those type modes but I really like how The One is laid out and how you can build your player. Excited to dig into it more in the full game.

- Man, didn't realize how much I miss the crowd sounds of Live!!! Geez, the responsiveness, roars and groans of the crowd just sucks you in, even if you have issues with some of the game play. Shooting then hitting a 3 while on home floor has always been "mindblowingly" exciting and gratifying in Live with the crowd reaction and roar. Even when you miss, the build up is so dope that you still love the groan that ensues afterward. Lol.

- While I like the pick and roll holding of the button to keep the pick player engaged or not, I actually don't like it at the same time. Makes the controls awkward while trying to continue to hold the L1 while moving your player. I don't know if there is a click button option instead. Haven't fished through the options that thoroughly.

- The worst things for me are the control, movement and animations of your player. Still wonky like it's been for years. Players don't have any weight to them so the movement is just weird at times which affects control. Steal animations - Whoa. Take me right out of the play many times then couple that with the fact your player can end up with his back to the player he is supposed to be defending in a weird way and turning back around needs to get back on point needs to be fixed.

- Also, the lack of responsiveness not only with steals but with jumps when trying to rebound or block, as well as lack of correct contextual animations when it comes to steals and blocks. Lots of wrong hands being used which are not what a real person would "instinctually" use.

- Oh, and the animations in general still have a bit of a stiffness and I still feel like Live hasn't gotten rid of "paddle hands". Fingers don't seem to spread, bend and animate like they should whether it's around the ball, dunking (don't seem to grab rim) or going for blocks.


I'll leave it there. I could talk about how the NBA stars look smallish (think they looked like that in the 16 demo, too) and the usual "some look better than others" but, meh, I won't really complain. Still a good looking game, overall.

EA, the game is decent and I like it. I almost immediately deleted the 16 demo but this one is decent enough to get more burn from me. Definitely see the commonalities that you're reading about this demo and when the game hits to make more improvements.

hmmm, worked for me. try switching to generic head, backng out to save it, then going back in a re-selecting scanned head.
