Re: After Playing the Demo, Are You Buying, Not Sure or No

I just preordered it tonight. After getting a few more hours with the demo, I can see myself playing this a great deal more than I did with Live 16. I'm having a lot of fun, and seeing a lot of very realistic things happening on the court.

They definitely have something with the game this year.

Well I just preordered it for around $35 at best buy. I'm a little worried and excited at the same time. I haven't bought a live game since live 10. I just hope the dynasty mode is decent.

Not buying unless 2k18 is atrocious.
        1. Online games haven't worked for almost a week in Australia, and no one gives a care.
        2. As games are generally $99 AUD on xbone, the 33% off brings it down to $66, which is $3 less than retailers in Australia for both Live and 2k. Big whoop.

May be a placebo thing but the shooting definitely feels a bit smoother and quicker with the recent patch but they've still got a bit more to fix before I commit.

There's still a small hitch/delay in the jumpshot and I think they need to go back to Live 16 animations, especially with the feet and landing on jumpers, not to mention the signature animations are barely visible.

I agree, if 2K sacrificed realism for fun they would get crucified. My main issue with Live is that players like ZaZa are studs, he's down low dunking on people and blocking shots like Shaq in his prime.

Re: After Playing the Demo, Are You Buying, Not Sure or No

I originally said in this thread that I was buying. I have now changed my mind and will not be picking this up. Has nothing to do with the gameplay but everything to do with the ball hogs and the people that don't know how to play basketball online. If you don't have a group of 5 people you know to play online with you then this game is unplayable to me in my most humble opinion. Me and one of my homeboys was playing the live run with these two other guys on our team and they would just make the dumbest decisions and take the worse shots. I would be standing wide open in the corner and my homebody on the wing across the court wide open while this "random" has three defenders on him and hes just spamming the right stick trying to pull off kyrie like dribble moves and jacks up a 3. I really do like the way the game plays with the exception of a few flaws. But the main reason I will not be picking this game up is because of playing with other guys that don't play team ball and just want to play hero ball and they complete trash.

I know some of you will say but they do that in the other game too, which is true. But in the other game you have the option of doing 3on3 which is what me and my two other friends do. It was just game after game after game of the same ole thing. It was either some guy with the lil uzi vert dreads or the lil yachty braids that were the ball hogs lol! If Live can give us some way to boot these guys then that would be love cause otherwise its just a big headache to have to sit there and wait for a game to load up and then get there to have randoms ruin it.

Re: After Playing the Demo, Are You Buying, Not Sure or No

^^^ i learned on live 16 most of the folks doing the ball hog thing were either kids or 2k guys "giving live a shot". i always say, live has a special breed of ball hog lmao!! its severe lmao, buts its also easier on live to freeze them out or just get continuous 3 sec violations

same this year (for the most part). i cant wait until sept 8th so the live community will be free of the 2k heads and we can really start to decipher who in the live community will be sticking around. ive met about 3-4 guys so far in the live events that i will attempt to run with when the full game comes out.

if you and your homie are looking for folks to run - hit me on psn: coachcolbert just let me know youre from OS. i play offline a lot cause im tired of hearing the bs from my 2k friends lmao

2K isn't realistic at all, agree to disagree. They both have their cheesiness, that's why they're games at the end of the day.

Like coach said, you should wait it out for the OS guys once the game drops.

There will definitely be people here that want to play sim ball.

I'm not into the street mode, but I might jump on every now and then with some guys here when the time comes.

100%. It's the most fabricated scripted sports game I've ever laid hands on. It lacks user control and freedom, I don't find that realistic from a user standpoint.

They have the title 'Pro Am' and it doesn't even resemble actual NBA pro am.

The only thing I'll give it in terms of realism is the visuals, obviously that is their highest standpoint. But when the game plays like you're watching a movie half the time, it better look good.
