You can’t edit rosters in NBA Live 18, but I’m hearing this could be patched in. Guess we wait and see.

Honestly I would be in complete shock if it gets patched. We have been asking for it since NBA Live 15. 4 years and still not included. It seems pretty clear it is something on the development side as to why it's not included. Not sure if is the lack of coding knowledge to implement it.
My personal opinion it is an Ego issue with the team doing the edits for the game. And my evidence of this was I had given factual evidence in Live 15 & Live 16 of player rating issues and was told if they didn't break the game they would be made. And of course they were never implemented. This showed me that the ratings were done on Player reputation and Popularity rather than true statistical and game research. I'm not even into heavy attribute editing or accessories...
I simply want the ability to take a player from one team out them on another...Comment

So that bold part isn't even going to work either? When I hear 'roster editing,' the first thing that comes to mind is simply editing a players rating.
Can't move players to different squad? ..... hmm, hmm, do I hold off on pre-ordering (even though I don't really mess with rosters myself)?

That should have zero effect on player movement. Also that should not limit the ability to edit within Franchise mode, as that should be where a User can customize their own experience. I understand Synergy limiting or eliminating Roster sharing.NBA 2k18 Roster:
