    Can I vent?

Can I rant and rave and scream into the internet web?

    YUP.

This being left out for the 4rth iteration of NBA Live is a slap in our faces.

OS is a community bent on EDITING

    How are we NOT angry?

Sorry guys im frustrated and my frustration isn't met with any concern anymore in regards to their team putting in roster editing.

I understand the rules here and that we cant bash a developer, but this is beyond disrespect already.

But do we not have a voice in this?

Re: No Roster Editing in NBA Live 18

I was really interested in Live 18 this year based on how much fun I had with the demo (more of a offline franchise guy but The One was a lot of fun). However, even at $39.99, not having in create a player or roster editing is inexcusable, period. What's stunning is that EA could actually put 2K "on notice" this year by simply giving players the ability to create players and edit rosters (we're not even talking roster sharing, yet).

As a side note, I'm not sold on 2k18 either. Seems like MyCareer is a mode completely tied to having to be online for VC purposes. Also, they removed a lot of player creation options. I think they caught on to the fact that people (myself included) were effectively having a mycareer experience in MyLeague by creating a player.

Probably because we have another choice that has full editing.

Yeah, that takes away the sting when there's another option, and a good one at that.

I buy live because honestly I have more fun playing basketball in live. I did in 16 and I'm sure I will this year. Roster editing won't stop me from getting this game but it will make me rethink my decision on not purchasing 2k. I might now get it on a sale or something but I need my LUT so Live is my go to bball game for now, until I need my retro fix. Sure it would be nice to update the roster but it only works if they add a CAP feature and I just don't see EA doing that.
I feel the same as you but we are in the vast vast vast minority. I don't care if we use it or not, the fact it's not in will hurt sales, significantly I'm sure. For guys like you and I sales matter and jeopardizes the future of the franchise. That makes me care.

2k18. When there was no editing in Madden, people on OS flipped out because Madden is the only choice they have. When I heard that Live didnt have editing, I shrugged my shoulders because the other game has editing among other things.

Roster editing is a big deal for a lot of people. I think what's being overlooked is there are gamers like me who stretch out the value of sports games by not buying them yearly, so not having the option to move players to their current teams, or just move around players for fun is a glaring omission. I just don't get why they haven't addressed it, and ea has to know we want this by now.

Anybody who plays last years title has something wrong with them so I don't see your point... This is an brilliant idea by EA if you ask me... Don't get me wrong, it's your choice but come on.. I'd spend $60 just to check out the soundtrack and I always cut it off before I start..

I believe you answered your own question.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Well, I'm definitely waiting till late season when there's a significant price drop for this now. This was the one thing I'd hope they'd finally got around to but whatever. Between this and the awful CAP 2k has I'm losing hope in these games sigh.

I know it's not the same situation, but every single time a sport game comes out with a missing feature or whatever, I keep thinking back to All Pro Football 2k8. They had no multiple season mode. Not even a limited franchise mode. And guess what, APF2k8 was the last of its kind. Never thought 2k football would be gone.

NBA Live is already on its last leg trying to survive. Sure, it sounds like people are coming around to it but you never know what's going to happen. Sales usually dictate potential future releases. Hearing that there is no roster editing and some guy just simmed two season in franchise mode without cpu trades, and people cancelling their preorders strictly because of no roster edits when the community has been asking for it for the longest time for current consoles overall simply doesn't look good for the future.

Hypothetically, what if this is in fact the last NBA Live installment ever?
NBA Live 18 and that's it. Hope not. Competition is sports. But without the ability to edit roster or even create-a-player, what happens two or three years from now when real NBA rosters are completely different and EA decides no longer to support Live 18? We'll be stuck with the same 2017-18 roster. Hypothetically, what if Lonzo Ball gets traded to say the Memphis Grizzlies and EA chooses no longer to update the roster?

Never really thought about it, but now that I think about it, roster edit and create-a-player including at minimum multiple consecutive seasons or a decent franchise mode should be the bare minimum. If APF2k8 had a franchise mode, imagine how many individuals would still be playing it. I know I would still religiously play it rather than on and off.
