Keep in mind, we still officially know nothing about franchise. For all we know it is vastly improved
I too have my doubts, but to already be giving up on the game with no info out at all about franchise seems a little extremeComment

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He
Seems there are no specific team styles again.
Played GSW twice and after every defensive board Draymond Green simply passed it to the PG to carry the ball / Boston did the same.
Draymond should be running the offene as a point forward some of the time.
Last year's NBA part of LIVE got boring VERY quickly as teams were all generic.
Same again. It is a damm shame they have done nothing to fix the NBA part / franchise / team styles / player specific traits.
That drove me nuts about 18. Besides Curry scripted to jack up an occasional 'crazy' long ranged 3 pter, every team and player played the same, and they all were determined like hell to drive to the basket. When they couldn't drive, they'd pass the ball and jack up a horrible shot or circus layup late in the shot clock. It was constant no matter what sliders I changed, and it ruined the game for me.
That, and ea's silence on franchise mode unfortunately made me not preorder. It will take some major news before it's release to make me change my mind.
And I've also read comments complaining about the commentary, which is something I also expected. Why bring in a new duo with far less name recognition, instead of adding Mark Jackson to JVG and Breen, and improving what they already had?Comment

Because these guys are going to be in studio all season recording new stuff and talking about the current NBA so it can go in the game. Breen & JVG likely couldn’t commit to doing that.Comment

Not necessarily
I too wish that was the case, but that may not be their marketing strategy. Nothing is set in stone, so they can choose to market their game any way they wantComment

Yes, unfortunately, rhe NBA game itself is generic again. The only 'separation' are ratings. I.e. Durant will play better as he is rated higher than Tatum. But that is it.
There is no team specific play, yet again.
I really like the controls and movement, but the NBA game is just way, way, way too generic for me to buy the game again this season.
I understand EA focussing on The One...but they are basically defaulting on the NBA game itself. It is almost like it is an afterthought.Comment

I've been tooting Lives horn for years, but unless something blows me away, I'm done.

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He
I was initially impressed after the first 3v3 with Iverson, Carter, etc. I'll chalk that up to excitement because I haven't played a live game in so long. After the first 5v5 came along though, thats when I started seeing all the flaws that have plagued live since forever. Generic basketball with rocket animations when going for layups, dunks, and even just passing the ball. I love how players feel weighted and some of their animations are very nice and fluid. However, looking at it as a true 5v5 basketball game, it is very lacking. I like how the defense feels most of the time but it's still very flawed when it comes to defending the paint. Live has always had a problem with passing into the paint and this one is no different. Passes that has no business being caught are zooming through bodies causing an easy rocket animation dunk or layup. I don't know how to explain it but it just feels generic and arcadey. I don't really see it as a viable option of you're looking for a true sim experience. There's one thing I like about it though. I love is that you can create space for yourself for a step back or nice mid range jumper. That's almost impossible to do in 2k because of the sliding defense. It makes it too easy for the CPU to magically recover and contest your jumper.Comment

Okay so I'm buying Live this year over 2K. Still has bugs to work out for sure, but the presentation, soundtrack, The One mode, new physics engine, overall strides and no microtransactions deserve our support. People need to look at progress for this game over last couple years and try to understand how hard it is to rework a game year to year. Thank God Live is chipping away at 2k's dominance. 2K has gotten lazy AF year by year and worse and worse. The microtransaction scandal last year was game breaking.
Long story short, Live isn't perfect but it may be the most fun game by far going forward, starting this year. The One is WAY better than My Career and this year having all of these legend paths was a BRILLIANT idea. Adds huge replayability with all of the archetypes and lets you play like many of your favorite legends.
PS. Has anyone figured out how to activate Iverson's trait? It says scoring unlocks it... yet it never gives me the boost. I randomly got it once and not sure how.Last edited by ClipsFanSince98; 08-24-2018, 09:18 PM.Comment

I hope everyone is enjoying the demo. I can't really give much feedback as pretty much all playable modes are just not for me. I played one game online and it was just run and gun and reminded me why I am an offline player. I will have to wait until EA ACCESS to get a feel for things.NBA 2k18 Roster:

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He
Finally got to try it out.
The One was fun. I enjoyed it about as much as last year. I still wish the video clips were full screen instead of a rectangle in the middle.
I loved the 5v5 against the CPU. It felt like a completely different game compared to 18.
The AI was much quicker to make decisions, and The CPU offense was beautiful to watch and fun to play against. I took a step back against Curry and he immediately knocked down a three. Durant was driving and knocking down mid-range jumpers, and guys were making smart cuts and making open passes that I never saw in 18.
Animations were a lot smoother, and evening felt more responsive. Post play was way more responsive as well. It was nice to be able to fak shoulder fake into a drive and dunk in one fluid motion. And visually, the game definitely looks a lot better. The videos don't do it justice. I am disappointed in the lack of sweat, though.
I am disappointed that they didn't update the halftime show. Jalen Rose still sounds pretty terrible, and is a major blemish on an otherwise pretty good piece of presentation.
As for commentary, I actually thought it was pretty good. I like that they focus on the game in front of them instead of going on and on with side stories. It did sound a bit robotic at times, but overall I was pretty happy with it. Knowing they can add more throughout the season makes it even better.
Of course, this was only one game, so we'll see how things go after playing more.

The one is cool the game feels different however, I need more info on the franchise mode. If it is bare bones again it's a no go for me. If the focus is on the One and the rise then make it a separate game...
