How this game is playable if I can't drive by a defender?? I'm not bashing the game at all, I'm just pissed because I want to enjoy it but everytime I play I quit after the half.

For me, it is impossible to drive by a defender no matter who is defending or who you are controlling. I was using Kidd earlier, as well as Carter and each and every time I tried driving past my defender I would get cut off and nowhere to go. It makes the game extremely unenjoyable for me.


Does anyone know of any way to solve this??

The series has suffered from this for ages. A new game engine is needed to fix this and a whole host of other issues.

Actually, does anyone know if there's a new engine planned for 2006? I'm done with LIVE until we get a new engine and some real NBA plays

Are you using freestyle? It's not hard to drive by a defender at all if you're utilizing freestyle correctly.

Play it like you would in real life.... set up a defender, then take them off the dribble with a crossover. Or use some triple threat moves, and then beat them with a quick first step. Be careful though, the help defense is really a lot more effective than it is in the real NBA.

Eliminate the sliding, add in team specific playsets, upgrade the graphics, and throw in player specific tendencies. You'd have the best basketball game ever released...

All these things are in ESPN. Unfortunately, Live has the little things that ESPN doesn't.

Like what? I ask because I haven't played ESPN this year because I've heard bad things about bugs, but I've been interested in giving it a try.

Make sure you download the patch, and alot of the bugs go away.

It's really not worth it if you're going to pick it up for the PS2. If you have an XBox and Live, def. give it a shot. The game will feel more sluggish at first, compared to Live.
