The above poster is correct about the Quick Play screen.

If you pause the game right after the tip and one of the teams have possession of the ball it gurantees that everything has been saved for you in the game setup for plays and defensive pressure.

After your done pausing the game you can now go and swith controlles over to your team and the only thing you would possibly need to do is setup your defensive pressure on the oppostion. The plays will already be saved and you can then go back to the action on the court and now you have control over your team.

Playmakers...when you change the quick play sets for each team are they retained or do you have to do it each time you play? I'm going to give your sliders and player edits a try as I am intrigued by all of this. I hate doing player edits and all but I'll edit a few teams along with all of your other suggestions in hopes that I can get a true simulation nba experience.

Unfortunately, EA is lazy and unlike Madden you have to change it every game because it doesn't save once the game is over. It only takes me 2 minutes max to input everything from game to game.

Try editing two teams and play a preseason game first that way you'll save yourself time with all the editing that I did to determine if you like it or not.

Here's a brief example of my changes:

            DEFENSIVE CHANGES

Lower all PG's, SG's and SF's shot blocking to zero.

Set a scale 8-40 for all PF's and C's shot blocking. Example Ben Wallace and

Shaq would be highest rating 40/A.Walker would get lowest rating 8

Set DEF Pressure to Low on all PG's, SG's and SF's to reduce perimeter blocks and create spacing.

Increase DEF AWR for all players by +20. Makes them react quicker in Zone Defense and helps to challenge shots but without blocking it.

Lower Jumping Rating -15 for these SF's and SG's that are 6'8 or taller to reduce blocks on perimeter. Josh Childress, Peja Stojavic, Al Harrington, Jared Jefferies, M.Dunleavy, Ivan Newble, Darious Miles, Scott Padgett, Eddie Griffin and Adres Nicioni those are the ones I did because when they defend shorter players on perimeter they would block everything despite 0 shot blocking rating.

            OFFENSIVE CHANGES

Increase Starting PG's passing by +20, Backup PG's by +15, All others by +10.
Increase OFF AWR by +10 for all players

Tried a game last night...I'm still seeing a ton of 3's by the CPU. This is even after changing the quick play sets to the recommendations you suggested in this thread. Are you seeing this?

I have it down to around 16-24 3-pt attempts per game by cpu. Are you playing with quick plays that are tailored to a team that has scoring guards?

For example setup a scrimmage versus Miami (CPU).

Use These two Quick plays for the Heat

                    Inside 8
                    Sideline 5
                    Basket Cut
                    Your Team Offense

The Heat should go down low very often.

I figured it out. I set my Defense for the team I'm controlling from automatic to man or 3-2 and it makes a world of difference. Thanks!

Is there a way you can actually view the plays unfold in the playbook screen or somewhere else (ala last year's Live)?? I've looked around and can't find any play diagrams for each individual play.

I used my March Madness game to view the plays. There is no way to that in Live which is silly and lazy on EA's part.
