Just won the title with New Mexico State!

Finished 32-6. However, I was 0-3 against Utah State. I went into the tourney at a 4 seed. Utah st. went in as a 2 seed but was upset in the 1st round. I beat Colorado in the FF, 66-56. I then had to play Oregon in the final game. I blew them out 87-72 (but it really wasn't that close).

Let's see how long I can continue to turn down Power conference jobs.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Im fairly new to this awesome game, had it for a couple months now. Love legacy mode, however I have a question.

Have any of you ever seen the University of Washington job open up? If so, what were the circumstances? Romar get fired, take a new job? Etc. UW is my ideal job, in my legacy right now UW is pretty good and I settled for Texas hoping it would give me some leverage for the UW job. However, I dont forsee Romar leaving or getting fired. Im just wondering if I should start a new legacy and hope UW does worse so I can land the job.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I've seen Romar fired, he's fairly young so it'll be awhile before he gets to the point of retirement (65 is the considering age in the game). Your best bet is to hope he gets fired.

BTW, My Jr. C just left early for the NBA draft.

He was a *** #178 ranked player out of High School. 6'11 when I signed him. 7'0 by the time he started his freshman year. He came in rated 77. By the end of his JR season, he was rated 89 and just dominated! Was Conference Player of the year and I do not know how he got left off the All American list. Average 25 pts & 9 rebs.

            Left as "A Top Pick".

Undoubtedly, the best luck I've had with a *** player.

Things like this is what makes this game awesome!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Finished a game back of the Big Ten title once again. Finished the regular season/conference tournament at 26-7. Got me a 5 seed.

First game of the tournament was against Milwaukee. They were 26-4 and came out pretty strong in the first half, I was only up by 2. But a giant run to start the second half put me ahead and I won by 20+.

Second round I faced USC. That was when I discovered my sophomore point guard. He had the first ten points for my team. Kept shooting with him and he continued to make them. I had the lead pushed out to almost 20 at one point but near the end of the game they started to make a comeback. I held on though, for a 74-71 win, with help from my point guard with 54 points.

Sweet Sixteen against Tennessee my point guard went off again. 43 points and I coasted to an easy victory.

Elite Eight he started to cool down by the rest of the team picked me up. It also helped that Northwestern (who beat me twice in the regular season and won the B1G) shot poorly in the first half and gave me a hefty lead. Won that by about 15.

In the Final Four everything was against me. I faced a Clemson squad that featured a 7'2' PF and a 7'1 C so I was getting dominated on the boards and couldn't hit any shots. I went down 15 early and couldn't get back into it. I think I pulled within 6 once but that was it. My second FF with Minnesota ended in the semifinals.

The good news is I was able to recruit the #2 center in the country. And in-state recruiting is starting to get better. I didn't think it was so indepth but maybe it's like real life where you won't see instant results, but once the guys who were freshman when you had success become seniors they will be interested, like building a brand.

Yup. I will admit I let him take a good chunk of the shots, but he just kept hitting them.

Unfortunately he was not as good the following year. I went in as a #1 seed and rolled through 16 seed UC Davis. Next game I played Ohio State and had another guy get very hot and go for 38, but OSU just ran the fast break way too well. Ended up losing by ten, 86-76.

Once I get time to play again I'll be the 5 seed once again, which is good for me because I've been a 5 or worse in my Final Four years.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Finished second year of my legacy at Sacramento State. Finished the regular season 27-4 with only losses coming to Texas, UCLA, Georgia Tech, and BYU. Ended up #5 in the mid major poll as well. Won the conference tournament for the second straight year for a birth in the tournament as a #6 seed. First round was against San Diego State and was tough at first but pushed ahead in the 2nd half. 2nd round went up against Memphis. Took a double digit lead in the 1st half and eventually pushed it to 20. They made a push in the last 5 minutes to make it single digits again but I was able to push back ahead and close out the game. Sweet 16 match up against Oklahoma State was frustrating. Took a lead early and pushed it to 10 but they were able to climb back in with the refs calling 14 fouls in the 1st half against me. Went into half up 2 and the second half stayed right around there all the way until the end when they went up 5 and finished the game at that difference.

Second straight sweet 16 exit, but Oklahoma State went on to win the title so I took a little comfort that I lost a winnable game to the champs. Went into the coaching carousel and took the job at VCU after Shaka Smart took the job at Georgia. The had already signed a 4 star SG and a 3 star C and didn't have an scholarships left for me to recruit with so I went ahead to next year. The 3 star center is 6'11 and is a 77 ovr. The SG is 73 ovr with a nice 3pt shot. Excited to start the season at a new school.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just wanted to check into this thread to tell my career legacy story (or multiple stories). Initially I had a legacy going where I worked my way up and eventually replaced Jim Boeheim at Syracuse. I love the 'Cuse and was pretty happy.
Due to life and other factors I put 2K8 away from a couple of years and only recently dusted it off and got right back into it. I thought about going back to my Syracuse legacy but decided to just keep it as backup and start a new closed legacy. (this was mainly because i never coached a 2k winner at a mid-major so i missed getting that attribute point).

So again I go. Starting at UC Riverside, taking them to respectable records and the NCAA for first round exits. Then onto Miami-Ohio where in my 2nd season managed to coach a 2k sports winner. Then moved onto Richmond where i've just completed a very successful 3rd year as the cinderella team of the NCAA, beating UNC in the Final 4 before getting crushed in the championship game.

However, here is my dilemma. I think I want to end up at one of the top programs (not Syracuse this time) and have shortlisted as follows:
                      1. UCLA
                      2. UNC
                      3. Kentucky
                      4. Duke

As luck would have it, the job at Duke opens up and they want to give me a shot. So what I want to know is who else has played with Duke? Are they the powerhouse they should be? Are you able to score top recruits without UK, UNC or KU stealing them at the last moments?

So my final questions that i really need the help of this wonderful OS community with is:

                      1. Should I take the job?
                      2. Should I stay at Richmond and wait until Roy Williams retires (which can't be far off) and take a job at UNC?
                      3. Or should I take the job, put in some good years until my first preference, UCLA, becomes available in maybe another 10ish seasons?

Oh what to do!!! Too many options!!!

I would head to Duke. I have never used them personally but the always score big time recruits in the legacy that I play and they never have trouble reloading.

Thanks for the tip mate. I'm really leaning towards taking the Duke job. Get me my own Kyrie Irving and hopefully win a couple of NCAA tournaments.

Haha yeah I can't wait to move up to one of the big time schools. I just took the job at VCU so I'm climbing my way up. Just can't wait to be in the running for at least 1 five star every year. The four stars are easy at this point but I want more haha.

Played through another tournament with Minnesota.

I was the 5 seed and in the first round took on Fresno State. I swear every time I get a five seed I kept matched up with a 12 seed how steamrolled through their conference and has like a 26-4 record. That didn't matter this time though, I blew them out throughout the game and won by about 30.

In the second round I faced the Cougars of Washington State. I pulled out to an fifteen point lead but WSU kept chipping away. With three minutes left I trailed by five but a couple quick three pointers and I had the lead again. Then bad things happened. I was up 4 with ten seconds left when they hit a layup to cut the lead to 2. They fouled me but only had like three fouls so the game was in the bad. Stupidly, I tried to lob it to my point guard on a running start so I could run out the clock without them fouling. Instead, they steal it and tie the game with a dunk to send it to OT. I ran away in OT though, winning 84-76 behind 54 points from my point guard.

Sweet Sixteen time. This time number one overall seed Marquette. Not much to say about this game. The game started with a 20-3 run by me and I never looked back. I think the closest it got was 9 and I won 99-64.

In the Elite Eight against 2 seed Oklahoma State it was a tight game for the first half and even into the second, but they went on a streak and I went on a drought, I ended up losing by 8. I graduated five NBA players so it'll be interesting to see how I reload.

What year are you in in your legacy? Because in my legacy, just for reference, Roy retired around 2016 or 2017 I wanna say, so depending on how far in you are it's up to you if you wanna wait that long. It shouldn't be that long after Coach K retires since both he and Roy retired around the same time in my legacy.
