Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

So, I've been on a simming spree since I last posts, and ohhhh boyyyy... I'm having quite the career, and everything is actually making a little bit of sense between sliders and player ability.

Multiple 20+ win seasons, up to 200 wins already (somewhere over 100 in losses), somehow putting together a power conference caliber team at UALR! I'll either add onto this post, it start a new one with more of a breakdown of my career....if I remember. We got an 8 seed in the NCAA tourney this year, beat 9 seeded Florida, now we play 1 seeded Texas A&M.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm now the HC of a struggling Duke team. I'm also in like year 2021. I enjoyed my time at UALR, but my heart nearly stopped when I got the Duke job offer. I figured, "Hey, you got what you wanted, a job offer from a major school. Take it."

First year went well. We have a 5 seed in the tourney, but last I saw we were getting wrecked by George Mason. Duke actually has a pretty average roster...overall rating is in the mid-80's. I think in time, I'll build Duke back up to the NBA-supplying power they really are. This average bunch of guys put up 24 wins, but lost in the first round of the ACC. I only run with ten guys remember. That means only ten make the team. We only have 2 players over 80, and the majority are upperclassmen.

I've been thinking and writing about this game, and I have some nice treats to share here as far as my thinking goes as a virtual coach, lol. I'll probably post them in a spoiler-tab-type post when I can get to a computer and not type on an iPod, lol.

          (WORK IN PROGRESS)

Here is a nice collection of things I have thought about as a virtual coach on this game, lol. I may make a seperate forum post for this as well, but for now, it will go here. I will label areas, but put all of my bulky information in spoiler tabs to better organize, and make it easy to find what information you want.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just coached Duke to this legacy's first national championship over #1 seed Arizona! It was scary to think I could've faced UALR in the NC, but Arizona knocked them out in the Elite Eight. We had a thrilling ride as we beat rival UNC in OT in the Sweet Sixteen, and shut down KU in the Elite Eight. We met Colorado of all teams in the Final Four, and finished off Arizona for the title. First and second rounds were against Saint Louis and Old Dominion respectively.

No dumb decisions in this legacy! I thought leaving UALR would've been, but 3 years at Duke and a NC have proved otherwise. I'm going to go for that lifetime contract goal. I still have yet to land a 5* guy also, lol.

So, I've tucked away the 2024 Duke Blue Devils into the exported teams section, where they sit alone for now as one of the greatest teams I've coached (and somewhat assembled) (Remember, I don't have that Buffalo team saved anymore because I reset my game). I like exporting them so I can go back and watch the teams I've put together play again...duking it out against another exported team (eventually).

It'll be fun when I get a ton of exported teams. If it works out, maybe I can set up an NCAA Tourney full of them. Otherwise I'll have to write up my own.

            Anyhow, off-season recruiting tomorrow.

How do you export your team to use in play now games? Never done that before and didn't know you could.

Okay, so assuming you're looking at your calendar, you move the right stick to get the menu up, and go to save. There should be an option to export your team, and you save it like you'd save your legacy.

I usually name mine like....with the year I'm in and the team I'm with, like with Duke, it's "2024 Duke".

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Every time I lose in the NCAA tourney, the team I lose to wins it....

I got offered a job at NC State, who only lost 4 games last year. I turned them down, and then I realized they recruited two of the top ten players in the country........ Might need to think harder next time.....

EDIT: Glad I didn't take that job! I'll update once I'm through the tourney.

We just crushed Pitt 95-77 for our 2nd NC in 4 years......

Is Duke officially back? I think yes. This team deserves the exportation after sendung 5 players to the NBA...

We are looking at the possibility of back-to-back NCs. We are either in the Sweet Sixteen or the Elite Eight..... I forget which, lol.

EDIT: tough Sweet Sixteen loss to Oklahoma. Back in the tourney following year, with a #6 seed, first round game against Old Dominion.

                          Depends on your roster.

NOT Maryland-Eastern Shore (unless you want the mother of all challenges).

If it means anything, I picked NC A&T based on the fact that their previous record seemed to be the best given my choices. Maybe you'll want to factor that in.

I went with Sacramento based on how close they are to me. They're alright but don't have ONE freaking center. They have like 3 6'9 PF's. That's it.

My first game was vs Kansas State and I lost by 20 or so. I gave up sooooooo many offensive rebounds.

I spent 2 years at Arkansas Pine Bluff, then took the job at Western Kentucky for a few years, made a couple of tournament appearances and went 31-3 my last year, number 2 seed in the tournament but lost in the second round. Then went to USC for 2 years but was offered the Kentucky job and took it. Finished my last 5 years with Elite 8,Final Four,Final Four, National Champions, and then Runner up. Pretty solid last few years of my career.

Mid way through year 2 and I'm 6-8 (2-3) Despite the record, things are starting to finally come together. I'm having a blast coaching this team and I love the fact that it is an actual challenge to improve this team.
