Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

UMES is 4-5 after a 70-58 win over Missouri State. I'm trying to attract attention to some higher guys, but I have a feeling that it I land some good guys, I'll get another job offer.

Obviously I screwed myself last year taking a big job in Iowa. This time, I think if I have success at my next job (let's face it, UMES won't attract the great recruits), I'll stick with it. Let's see how long that holds up.
James Naismith visited an Indiana basketball state finals game along with 15,000 screaming fans and later wrote, that while it was invented in Massachusetts, "basketball really had its origin in Indiana, which remains the center of the sport."

Started playing this again and I kept my Legacy from last year. Started with St. Francis (PA) and after 4 years I am still there. Have won the conference title regular season and tournament 3/4 years. Also made the Big Dance every year. Just recently won the National Championship as a 3 seed vs 11 Pitt. Signed my first 5 star JC Point Guard that no one else was going after. With that signing I had a top 20 recruiting class. I am now 5-0 on the season and looking for a repeat. Highest difficulty

I want to start a career, I don't think I'll start at a low school and work my way up because A&M is bad enough anyways

I jumped ship to UConn after losing in the Final Four. I like that top recruits are interested, but I miss my players and system. I saved it to a different file so I may/probably will stay at Sacramento State. It's just not the same at UConn.

Has anyone done a team in the Ivy League? How is it without the conference tournament at the end?

I started an open Legacy with A&M, didn't realize you started out with 40 coaching attributes. Chomping at the bit to get a normal legacy started, but this years rosters aren't ready so I'm going to pick a year I like. What team should I start out with? I'm interested in making the tourney so I want a team that is in a bad conference so I can win it, and good recruiting.

I did one with Princeton: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ll-ch-2k8.html

I was there for nine seasons, IIRC. I did miss the conference tournament, to be honest, but it wasn't a huge deal. One thing I learned my first season is that the tiebreaker is overall wins, so I got screwed over my first year when I swept Columbia in the regular season 2-0, but we both were 11-3 in the conference, but the game used the regular season record tiebreaker and Columbia won since they a better overall record.

I want to start another one up so bad but I don't have the game since I traded my 360 for a PS3 a while back. At the time I didn't realize this game was so rare--I can't find it anywhere for under about $35.

I might get this game tomorrow but I haven't played a college hoops game before. I want to eventually coach one of my favorite teams, the Tar Heels or the UConn Huskies, but I want to work my way up. Anyone know a good mid range school for a beginner?

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

After getting the 2013 rosters I finally started my legacy with Maine as my team. I simulate (with hoopcast) 3 games, then I play one. But when it comes to the tourneys I play every other game.

The non-conference schedule has not been kind to me. My leading scorer (Xavier Pollard 13.5 PPG) got injured for 45 days. We sit at 4-8 heading into conference play. Some non-conference games included a 90-54 loss at Florida State (I played), and a 91-50 loss at UConn (Hoopcast).

We open up conference play at Stony Brook. No recruits have committed to me, best interest is from a 6'11" center.

I also made Lebron James JR, and Bryce James. I was unsure of their actual age, and wasn't too concerned so I made LBJ JR a HS SR, and Bryce a HS JR.

                      LBJ JR committed to Louisville.

Just started a Georgia dynasty. I have a new coach with B in every category. I'm going to try and finish third or better in the SEC. Also, I created my NBA 2K myplayer, Guy Gamer, as a recruit and I'm going to try and recruit him.

Started up a career legacy with Saint Francis (PA) and holy crap I'm rusty. Through 12 games, I'm 1-11!!!! The good news is there are no seniors and most of my players are freshman and sophomores. I'm in it for the long run!

One of these days I'm gonna get up here and update everyone on my coach Legacy, but my past season I finally won a Championship at LSU with a lot of draft picks in my starting lineup.

                            Now I'm rebuilding that squad.

                            This game is too fun.

Oregon has our (Sacramento St.) number. In my legacy we are 0-3 against them, 2 at their place and 1 neutral site game (pre-season tourney). Man, it irks me too, because we just put it on Arizona State and USC a few weeks before.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I introduce to you, Coach Jay Bolden. I'm in my 18th season right now in the closed career legacy. At this point in time I am 484-121 over my career, which includes 2 seasons at Elon, 5 seasons at Nevada, 3 seasons at Saint Louis, 4 seasons at DePaul, and this my 4th season at LSU. I am coming off of my first National Championship win over San Diego State with a great team at LSU that had 4 NBA Draftees.

I have 11 Regular Season Championships, 8 Conference Tournament Championships, 16 NCAA tournament apperances, 9 sweet sixteens, 5 final fours and 3 championship game apperances (1-2). I've also been conference coach of the year 11 times, national coach of the year 3 times and had 9 pro draftees.

Summary on each team I've coached:

Elon: I don't remember too much about the two seasons I spent at Elon but we lost in the first round of the tournament both seasons.

Nevada: I got to a fairly decent Nevada team that already had a good point guard named Zygis Timmerman who led the team in assist and was a very clutch 3 point shooter. After he graduated, I had already recruited 2 really good wing players that helped me get to the Final Four in my final season at Nevada. Rashaun Vaughn and Fendi Lynch were the veterans on my team who also had a 5 star SG recruit I brought in to the play the point, Stephen Wade, who ended up being a pro draftee. So far Rashaun Vaughn holds the record for my coach with 53 points in a single game.

Saint Louis: When I got to SLU for the retired Rick Majerus, they had a wildly athletic team with a blinding quick point guard named Jonathan O'Dell. In my first year there, I got them to the final game, losing to Maryland. After that season, I recruited a 6'1' SG named Pat Cammon who was very JJ Redick-esque. Although he was only 6'1" he was a pretty good ball-handler and he was a spectacular shooter. He was an All A-10 freshman but couldn't really lead my team further than the Sweet 16 even though I had some versatile big-men that could shoot the ball on that team. My weakness was guard play.

DePaul: I, with regret, accepted a job at DePaul, which is where I went to school for a semester IRL. They were very bad in this game and were often really bad in the Big East. I wanted to rebuild them so when I arrived they werent very good. My coach's ratings were strong enough to have this team competitive, but my players were often out-matched in the Big East.I finally got a 5-star recruit, Bronsen Platt, an athletic SF that could shoot and rebound and he was the only bright spot on the team for the most part. I lost in the Second round, then the first round, and then missed the big dance for the first time [although I won the NIT over George Washington..more on them later]. In Platt's Junior year we had a rough season at 28-10 but somehow got hot in the big dance and made it to the Final Game and lost to Kansas.

LSU: So finally I decided to leave DePaul and go to LSU. While I have missed the competition of the Big East, it's been fun to build a basketball program at a predominately football school. I inherited a really good team, including a 6'5" Sophomore PG named Dane Cisse and a 6'4" Sophomore PG named Patrick Santee. I also had a great team around them and before the season even started, I learned that I was inheriting a 5* recruit from Arizona who was transferring to LSU, a sharp-shooting slasher named Deno McNamara. He did have to sit out a season.

In that first season at LSU I got them to the Final Four and lost to George Washington...who eventually won the National Championship that year. In my second year at LSU, we were having an amazing season, Deno McNamara was a starter and really made Cisse and Santee unguardable. My big men were playing well and our bench was contributing. In the last 3 games of the season we started getting hit really bad with injuries. We did finish the regular season 30-1 but lost the first game of the SEC tournament and then lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

I FINALLY won a National Championship in my 17th season in this game, defeating San Diego St in the Final game. Between all of the seniors in the starting lineup, the freshman Ashley Augustine had a triple double in the final game which was interesting. My team looked something like this:

PG: Dane Cisse, 6'5" SR 90 OVR
SG: Patrick Santee 6'4" SR, 88 OVR
SF: Deno McNamara 6'5" SR, 90 OVR
PF: Ashley Augustine 6'10" FR, 81 OVR
                                C: Dave Kinloch 6'9" SR, 86 OVR

I just brought in a slew of really good freshman and I'm currently 12-2, #15 in the media poll. I also have the #2 SG recruit coming to LSU next season, this guy named Albert Manning. At the moment I only have 2 true point guards on my team so adding this guy will help.

And George Washington also has the #1 freshman at the moment, Greg Plummer, and that team is currently 17-1, #5 in the polls. It's interesting to see that GW has won a championship and it subsequently led to them getting a #1 overall recruit down the line.

Should be finishing up this season in the next few days so I'll be bringing an update soon. I think the team I have now is good, but if everyone stays, next years team could bring me another championship.
