Once they get a year or two under their belt then they will be putting up the numbers that you'd expect.
    I'm not talking about my freshmen, I can get good numbers with mine. I'm referring to all the other freshmen in the nation - their stats are real low and there are never any "1 and done" type players.. All the good players on other teams are Seniors or Juniors. Just trying to figure out if there is a way to make freshmen stats more realistic for the CPU teams.

      Nope that is the way it is. If you want more "top" freshman use your 10 CAF spots every year to make some 1 & done guys.
      There wasn't that 1 & done epidemic when this game came out.

        Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

        Well, it's that time of year again...

        I started a career legacy with intentions of playing every game, but the simulation draw was just too much. Career went a little something like this:

        2 years at No. Colorado
        2 years at Vermont
        5 years at Miami (OH)
        6 years at Penn State

        That satiated my hunger, but now I'm trying to fully dedicate myself to the game. Just downloaded Raiders' rosters, and am using All-Conference sliders with 13-minute halves.

        It was refreshing to have new teams to start with thanks to updated rosters, so in honor of Pat Knight's firing, I chose Lamar.

        Tried it out on 10-minute halves, and it really is too short. I beat Ole Miss and Marshall Henderson 54-53 to start the season (coming back from 10 down in final 2 minutes) in a very fun game, but I'm bumping back up to 13.

        I look forward to playing every game and keeping you guys posted. Wish me luck!

        P.S. Lamar is terrible. No centers on roster. Only 10 players. I have six scholarships to offer for my first recruiting class.

          Ok thanks. I'll just continue pretending they brought back the rule that you can go pro out of high school.

Jacksonville, the other A-Sun team was a 12 seed and got beat by 45 against UConn. Oklahoma State ended up winning it all. I expect my team to be even better this year. Pretty excited.

              That is a bit surprising to get in with a small conference with an RPI like that. I'm sure whoevers bubble burst would be mad that it was burst by Jacksonville who had no business in the NCAAT to begin with haha. It's pretty awesome to make the tournament any year with a small conference team but getting a win next year would be even better. What year are you in? Is Leek Leek still on the team?

                I'm in 2015-16. I think Leek Leek graduated about 5 or 6 seasons ago. I'm currently 18-3 (11-0 in the conference) by the way. My team's talent level is way above rest of the A-Sun.

                  So, the final four in year 8 (2014-15) was played at.. Albany University. I was perplexed. Anyways, I'm in year 9 now, all of them with Sacramento State. Signed a JUCO Sophomore shooting guard that came in an 83 and is starting right away. We had 4 shooting guards graduate last year (3 got drafted). Each year I want to leave, but then again, I can't imagine leaving what I have built here at Sacramento State. If only I could switch conferences.

                    Year 2 Biloxi State

                    Last season we managed a 20-12 record finishing second in the conference which was a great season considering we had a 54 overall team. We lost 5 seniors and had 10 scholarships. Unfortunately we only filled 2 scholarships and have been afforded some walk-ons. There were very few recruits left and I don't believe in wasting scholarships. I also had a few juniors I had been talking to and was hoping to save a few scholarships for them instead. The last thing I wanted was to recruit someone bad and have to cut them a year later. Despite this team being 57 overall this year, I think it will be even worse this year because I had a few players that could shoot last year. On my last post where I talked about a 7'2 2* C that had potential. The good news is he does have solid potential (B) and the bad news is he is 48 overall and F Speed and D stamina. I also picked up a 3* SG Ben Cox. I love to run an up tempo offense but I might have to slow it down this year. Here is what my team looks like this year...

                    Biloxi State
                    Ovr 57
                    Off 59

                    Starters
                    PG N Williams So 58 ovr 5'10
                    SG B Cox Fr 66 ovr 6'5
                    SF J Robinson 55 ovr 6'8
                    PF B Lawson 58 ovr 7'1
                    C A Stockholm 48 ovr 7'3

                    Bench
                    C D. Leonard Fr 52 ovr 6'10
                    SF J Dobbins Fr 47 ovr 6'7
                    C D. Perez Fr 46 ovr 7'0

                    Biloxi State (0-1) 56
                    @#1 Kentucky (1-0) 78

                    I figured I would schedule some tough teams this year with the idea that hopefully I can have a respectable enough RPI if I do well enough in conference play for an automatic NIT bid. While I'm sure that's a pipe dream I also schedule #1 every year so hopefully I can get an attribute point for beating the #1 school. Anyway, It's hard to tell where we stand when we play Kentucky but one thing for sure is that we were absolutely gassed after 6 minutes. We have a very big line-up and I will probably have to make adjustments because this team will die if I play as fast as I did last year. The 7'3 Stockholm was our player of the game (12 pts, 11 rebs).

                    Biloxi State (0-2) 75
                    @#1 Florida (6-0) 104

                    I did a write-up of this already but for some reason it didn't save so I'm going to keep it short. Florida is #1 because Kentucky lost in the following weeks. I had a bad case of foul trouble and had one player foul out after 7 minutes which made it hard to compete.

                    Biloxi State (0-3) 49
                    @#9 LSU (11-0) 58

                    I took the air out of the ball to keep this one close. We used the whole shot clock to look for good shots and really tried to buckle down on defense. It is a little annoying that no matter how hard I try on defense I can only hold opponents to around 50% shooting.

                    Grambling State (1-5) 75
                    @Biloxi State (1-3) 91

                    Lawson was dominant (26 pts, 8 rebs, 7 assist, 4 steals), yet we only won by 16. Grambling shot 31-47 from the field. We forced 21 turnovers which is the most we have forced in my career and outrebounded Grambling State by 8. I'm baffled at how bad our interior defense is when we play two 7 footers.

                    Biloxi State (1-4) 46
                    @#17 Michigan State (6-3) 80

                    The only player that really showed up for my team was Cox (22 points). Surprisingly we held a 27 to 23 lead in the first half. When the wheels came off they really flew off.

                    Chicago State (1-10) 70
                    @Biloxi State (2-4) 85

                    This one was close until the final 5 minutes. We shot 11-18 from 3 (Cox 33 points, 7-12 3 pt fgs), 50% from the field and only had 2 turnovers. It's not good that Chicago State is the 2nd worst team in the NCAA (58 overall) and we struggled mightily to put them away. Our next game is in Hawaii against Southern Miss in the Hawaiin Island Classic.

                    Hawaiin Island Classic
                    Biloxi State (3-4) 63
                    Southern Miss (6-3) 53

                    This is the best win of my tenure. A big win over a conference USA foe. I had a 49-30 lead with 9 minutes left and my guys were getting tired. We started using the shot clock until the final few seconds. The big reason we won the game was outrebounding Southern Miss 30 to 15. Our defense also allowed under 50% shooting which is good for us.

                    Hawaiin Island Classic Semifinals
                    Biloxi State (4-4) 62
                    East Tennessee State (6-4) 54

                    Surprisingly East Tennessee State upset #23 Ole Miss to advance to the semifinals. Lawson willed us to victory in this one (42 points, 12 rebounds, 12-12 from the line). It's a good thing he had such a good night because the rest of team shot 6-36. The biggest reason we won again was rebounding. We outrebounded ETSU 40-16. Up next, the Hawaiin Island Classic Championship!

                    Hawaiin Island Championship
                    Biloxi State (4-5) 49
                    #25 Villanova (8-2) 73

                    I'm glad that we even got to the championship game. We got 2 quality wins for the program and are faring much better than I thought we would at this juncture. Next games are in the Cougar Classic.

                    Cougar Classic Game 1
                    Biloxi State (5-5) 80
                    Hofstra (7-3) 76

                    We just held on for another huge win. This replaces Southern Miss for our programs biggest win. While we can't compete with the power conference schools, I hope 2 wins over mid majors this year shows marked improvement.

                    Cougar Classic Championship
                    Biloxi State (6-5) 79
                    Belmont (1-10) 67

                    I don't know how a team who was previously winless advances to the championship of a tournament. Belmont "upset" Chattanooga to make it here. This win makes us Cougar Classic Champions.

                    Biloxi State (6-6) 40
                    @Maryland (6-4) 111

                    I decided to simulate this game because I didn't feel like wasting 40 minutes of my day to lose by 30. I'm a little disappointed that my team played so poorly when we simmed. This is an 87 overall Maryland team though.

                    Winston Salem State (3-8) 78
                    @Biloxi State (7-6) 109

                    It was a blowout from the onset. Lawson (34 pts, 11 rebs, 6 assist) was our player of the game but we also had big efforts from Stockholm (12 pts, 12 rebs) and Cox (33 pts).

                    Biloxi State (7-7) 46
                    @#22 Memphis (11-3) 98

                    Another game I decided to simulate, same reason as the Maryland game. Lawson (24 pts, 8 rebs) still played well.

                    Biloxi State (8-7) 60
                    @New Orleans (1-11) 48

                    I'll use this game to give an update on recruiting. We signed Parker Collison (2* #158 SF, #690 Ovr). He averaged 3.5 PPG and .9 RPG playing for Long Range in the ABL. I really like his athleticism and when we evaluated him he looked to have good potential. He looks like he could be another project, we'll have to wait and see. We also lead on the #128 PG (#509 ovr). I've been going after high potential players which is why I've hired in assistant that specializes in teaching. I have about 10 more targets but it's still early and I have no idea how most will end up.

                    Liberty (6-6) (0-1) 54
                    @Biloxi State (9-7) (1-0) 62

                    We withstood a great game by Liberty's 73 ovr SG Marshall (28 pts, 7-11 3 pt). We held a 9 point halftime lead and immediately following halftime changed our strategy to slowing the tempo down substantially. We won largely because of another great rebounding effort (33-22 differential). Lawson (24 pts, 15 rebs) had a lot to do with that. Liberty looked to be one of the better teams in the conference, so it's big to pull this one off.

                    Winthrop (6-8) (0-2) 56
                    Biloxi State (10-7) (2-0) 70

                    Lawson (27 pts, 3 Rebs) had a monster 21 point first half. I said that Winthrop is going to have to change something or I'm going to keep going into Lawson. What's great about the game is they made adjustments and it was noticeable. Almost every time Lawson touched the ball in the second half he was either double teamed or they put extra pressure on him. Lawson had 4 turnovers in the second half and only 6 points. Much like last game the strategy was to hold the ball after half, we had a 7 point halftime lead. Again, the big reason why we won was rebounding (22 to 12) and our shooting was spectacular (29-46).

                    Winthrop had the best recruiting class in the Big South last year and had 2 freshman starters. I mentioned how they got the #59 PG, but they also recruited the #30 PF. Their Freshman PF Momplaisir came in at 76 overall, already their best player.

                    Biloxi State (11-7) (3-0) 69
                    @UNCA (7-9) (2-2) 45

                    I wrote a write-up for the past 2 games but my internet went out when I tried to edit the post so I have to write it all over again. Williams (24 pts) who isn't usually a good outside shooter shot 7-10 from 3 and Cox shot 7-12 from 3. The team ended up shooting 15-23 from 3 pt range for an blowout road victory. The tough schedule has paid dividends, even though we are 2-8 against top 100 RPI teams (wins over Hofstra and Southern Miss) we sit at 65th in the RPI. If we continue winning hopefully we can get an automatic NIT bid or even sneak onto the bubble.

                    Biloxi State (11-8) (3-1) 55
                    @Charleston Southern (8-9) (3-1) 65

                    Lawson (22 pts, 12 rebs) could not will us to victory as he has done many times this year. The other team shot 13-23 from 3. We never had the lead but we kept it close until the end. This loss puts Charleston Southern at the top the conference and dropped our RPI from 65 to 103 (jesus). I can put any hopes of being on the bubble or an automatic NIT bid not winning the conference to rest.

                    Biloxi State (12-8) 72
                    @MVSU 51 (7-14) 51

                    We lost to our rival last year when they weren't very good. I forgot to schedule this one at home because we played on the road last year but we won nevertheless.
                    Biloxi State (13-7) (4-1) 79
                    @Mobile Tech (0-18) (0-5) 50

                    I simulated this because Mobile Tech is still terrible (48 overall). Hard to believe but this is one of the better games they have played this year, they are that bad.

                    VMI (3-14) (1-5) 82
                    @Biloxi State (14-8) (5-1) 83

                    This game came down to the wire. A late 3 pointer by Williams (15 pts 8 assist) put us up by 1 with 15 seconds left. Lawson (24 pts 8 rebs) had another solid game. I guess you can't take any game for granted. VMI is 3-14 and their only conference win is against lowly Mobile Tech. I'm now sitting at 5-1 in the conference and have a 3 way tie with Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina. I have N.C.State coming up on the road which I also plan on simulating because I don't have a chance.

                    Biloxi State (14-9) 50
                    @N.C.State (12-7) 88

                    As I mentioned earlier I simmed this one.

                    Coastal Carolina (14-9) (6-1) 84
                    @Biloxi State (14-10) (5-2) 80

                    This was a big game that could have really could have given us an upper edge over the rest of the conference. We held the lead for most of the game but just couldn't pull it out in the end. Lawson (28 points, 9 rebs) and Williams (9 pts, 11 assist) played great but it just wasn't enough.

                    Mobile Tech (0-20) (0-8) 40
                    @Biloxi State (15-10) (6-2) 111

                    Lawson (33 pts, 15 rebs), Robinson (19 pts, 17 rebs), and Williams (22 pts) dominated an overwhelmed Mobile Tech team. Mobile Tech's coach Cameron Dollar has yet to win a game in his 2 years at the school. The teams closest contest this year was a 71-58 losing effort at home against Winthrop. He didn't have much to work with but I imagine if you go 0-48 your going to be canned.

                    Biloxi State (16-10) (7-2) 84
                    @Winthrop (8-13) (2-7) 83

                    We stormed back from a 9 point deficit with 5 minutes left. We took an 82-80 lead with a minute left and held it out hitting both our free throws from the line. Winthrop made a late 3 when the game was practically over. Robinson (26 pts, 11 rebs) is starting to become a factor again which he hasn't been for most of this year. This puts us in a 3 way tie for first with Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern with Liberty being a half game behind. This is a crazy close conference race and it just so happens I play Liberty next.

                    Biloxi State (16-11) (7-3) 50
                    @Liberty (14-6) (8-1) 60

                    Liberty was ranked 6th in the Mid Major poll prior to this game. We knew it would be very difficult to win at Liberty. However, we held a 28-16 lead at halftime. Liberty came storming back in the 2nd half though and took the lead quickly. I'm partly at fault for not being able to mount a better fight at the end. I got so caught up in the game I forgot to make substitutions and all of my best players were completely gassed. This puts Liberty in first place in the conference and knocks us from tied to 2nd to 4th. This game was really important and we just couldn't pull it out.

                    Charleston Southern (13-11) (7-3) 67
                    @Biloxi State (17-11) (7-3) 68

                    Charleston Southern just would not go away. They never lead the entire game but kept it within 3 points for almost the whole second half. Lawson (34 pts, 5 rebs) was our player of the game. Charleston Southern ended up shooting 25-40 and without Lawson's effort I'm not sure if we could have won. This win was huge and keeps hope alive. We are tied for 3rd in the conference with Charlie Southern now behind Coastal Carolina (7-2) and Liberty (8-1).

                    UNC-A (12-16) (5-7) 76
                    @Biloxi State (18-11) (9-3) 83

                    Another much needed win to keep hopes alive of winning the conference. Liberty sits at 10-1 still, if they win another game I'll probably simulate my remaining games until the tournament. I figure adding a win or two would be just about pointless if Liberty wins. Besides, I'm sitting tied for second in the conference. If I fall to third I'd avoid a terrible 2nd round match-up against most likely Coastal Carolina. However, if I fall to 4th then I'd probably draw Liberty in the second round after a tough game against UNCA. So there would still be quite a bit of risk involved.

                    Biloxi State (18-12) (9-4) 53
                    @VMI (6-18) (4-9) 81

                    I simulated this one because Liberty won again making them the 2009 Big South Champions.

                    Biloxi State (18-13) 53
                    @Coastal Carolina (19-10) (11-3) 91

                    I also simulated this because it had no effect on the season other than my seeding. It didn't matter to me if I had to play either VMI or Winthrop and if both Coastal Carolina and I win in the first round we would see each other in the second. I ended up playing the first round against VMI. My RPI dropped from 108 to 133 following the 2 simulations though. It wouldn't have really mattered though, I'll be playing for my life in the Big South tournament regardless.

                    Big South Tournament
                    #3 seed Biloxi State (19-13) 49
                    #6 seed VMI (7-19) 47

                    Holy cow it feels like it gets notched up a level come tournament time. We led 49-42 with 2 minutes left . We went to Lawson who was being covered by one of their guards. Lawson had an easy baby hook and he missed it. VMI comes down and hits a 3. Next possession Williams drives and dishes it to Lawson for an easy lay-up, it rolls around the rim and spins out. We get the rebound and bleed the clock down until about 10 seconds until Cox passes towards the top and it gets stolen for an open lay-up for VMI. We fail to convert the next possession and VMI has the ball down 2. With 8 seconds left they dish it to a wide open SF for 3 and it clanks off the front of the rim. We are lucky to escape this game. Next game will be the winner of #2 Coastal Carolina against #7 Winthrop.

                    #3 seed Biloxi State (20-13) 55
                    #7 seed Winthrop (11-17) 42

                    Winthrop pulled a big upset over Coastal Carolina to make it to the second round. We opened up a 15 point lead early and held onto the rest of the game. Lawson had 27 points while shooting 12-14 from the field. We will play the winner of #1 seed Liberty and #4 seed Charleston Southern. I'm sort of anxious about the championship game. This is what you play for, a chance to go to the NCAA's and we can taste it.

                    Big South Championship
                    #3 seed Biloxi State (21-13) 61
                    #4 seed Charleston Southern (17-14) 57

                    Big South Tournament Champions! NCAA tourney bid! Regardless of what happens in the NCAA's (a beatdown is coming my way) it has been a great season. We held a 54-44 lead with 1:30 left. Charleston Southern hit a 3 and suddenly we lost our ability to inbound when they started fouling. We threw 2 straight easy inbound passes out of bounds. When the score was 54-51 we finally went to the line and hit both of the free throw attempts. That was enough to distance us the rest of the game. Lawson (20 pts, 9 rebs) as always was a big contributor. Cox (23 points) was also pivotal in the win. I'm really looking forward to the selection show now.

                    #14 Biloxi State (21-14) 59
                    #3 Georgia Tech (25-8) 77

                    We competed until the end not wanting to give up but ultimately GT was far too much. Lawson (30 pts, 7 Rebounds) is pretty much the only guy who could even match up with GT. I knew that we would have to hit a lot of 3 pointers to stay in this and the team shot 2-17 3 pt fg (that may be a season low %). It was still a great year and we saw tremendous strides in our players improvement. For instance, Williams improved 4 overall this year (I think that's pretty awesome seeing how I don't even do the training drills). Cox improved 2 overall and Lawson/Stockholm improved 3. The team started the year at 57 overall but improved to 59 when it was all said and done.

                    I put a list of awards, graduates, some off season news and other tourney results but none saved.

                    Liberty advanced to the NIT Championship before losing 64-109 to Seton Hall
                    #1 seed cuse beat #1 seed Michigan 90-72 in the tourney

                    I don't remember who got all the POY stuff now but Beilein was COY and Lawson was conference player of the year and Cox was conference freshman of the year.

                      Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

                      Originally I was going to use Raider's roster and start a new legacy with Texas Southern. However, I realized after using them that they weren't a team I was interested in using. I then decided to look through some rosters and made an interesting decision. I decided that I would pick a smaller school and add some of the players that were kicked off other teams (In Raider's roster there are a bunch of those guys when you look through the so called "free agent" list).

                      I added the likes of PJ Hairston (I know he's in the D-League: just made him a senior to make this first season interesting), Cleveland Melvin (Depaul), Kedren Johnson, Tony Freeland, Jalen Steele, Devonta Pollard, Shaq Johnson and Sidiki Johnson. All of them are sitting the first year as transfers, but with Hairston I made the expection because I know he'll be in the NBA next season. All the other players either left their former school or were kicked out, and I decided to make Chattanooga the location to start. Their conference is one of the few that is still the same today as it was in 2008, and they had a nice court. Add to that the amount of Tennessee schools I could play, I thought this decision of going here and doing it the way I am would be interesting enough to keep me playing without starting over or simming too much.

                        That's pretty interesting, haven't heard of that before. I look forward to hearing about how that goes. It sounds like a bunch of high character players though!

                          I finished the regular season and finally won the A-Sun tournament after losing in the final 2 out of 3 years. My record is 27-3 (16-0 in the A-Sun). I got a 8 seed in the Big Dance against Villanova in the first round.

                            How do you guys do this? The gameplay is so terrible compared to what we have now, for me it's totally unplayable lol

                              I remember I used to think College hoops in 2k8 had spectacular gameplay. Me and my friend would have a blast playing exhibitions (I'm not a huge exhibition guy). I often think how awesome it would be to have a college hoops game that played like some of the more recent 2k games and it makes me pretty sad honestly lol. I've been waiting years to start a dynasty and actually play the games. I figure it's never going to happen unless it is on college hoops 2k8. I hate Ed O' Bannon with a passion.

                              Another solid season but it sucks to draw an 8 seed. I think that basically means the most you can go is one game into the tourney.

                                I still have a hoopcast sim legacy I do, but I've really only played 1 game in the last couple years, and that was just to play with updated rosters. It's still fun to recruit
