We ended up scoring 62 in the second half and miraculously held the Eagles to 38 in the half to tie the game up and send it to OT.

Freshman SG Alex Austin was ice-cold in the first half scoring only 3 points, before going absolutely nuts. Finishing with 34 points on 10-19 from deep, he was the reason we came back. On the very first play of OT he fouled out leaving us extremely short handed (We only have 8 guys to begin with). Morris Woods fouled out as well.

We ended up pulling it out 101-99 in OT. Good thing I didn't sim 'til the end!

Things like this are why I love the game. Just because you're dominating/getting dominated, it doesn't mean the rest of the game will finish that way.

The other day I was playing a 2nd round tourney game. I was up 10 and I was on the brink of running away with the game. Next thing I know, I turn the ball over on 5 or 6 straight possessions and then missed some easy layups and I'm down by 6! They proceeded to win by double digits.

Another game I was up 6 with about 5 minutes left. I managed to lose by around 17.

In my first year at Wake (after 5 at my created UNC Pembroke) I ran deep in the tourney but lost my top player. Had a solid recruiting class of four 4* and a 7' 3*. Looking forward to starting this season.

One interesting note, I forget which team it was but one of the other ACC teams lost 10 guys to either graduation or leaving the team. It was wild, I've never seen so many guys go at once, none were going pro early.

I've gone back and started a new career legacy with Montana State using a 2011-12 roster. Easily my favourite team to start with, as they have a solid PG, big C and some half decent outside shooters. Biggest thing is that you only have 9 players your first year, and 4 are seniors. Start with 8 scholarships to give, and can mould whatever type of team you want right away. And they have a nice sized stadium to fill up when you start winning!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

About to hit my 700th win, I have around 185 losses, started at St Francis when game came out, went to valpo then after 4 years and two sweet 16 appearances Jim boehiem retired and opened up my dream job. Won 4 national titles in 6 years but that's when I took a new job to see a few things and accidentally saved over my save. So I started from the bottom again, brown for 2 disappointing 17-14 seasons, then Memphis for 4 years and 2 final fours and amazingly Syracuse opened up again in 2029, it's now 2031 and I'm 14-0 and have one of the best teams I've ever had.

This game is literally my favorite game of all time and it's not even questionable . I've maybe simulated 100 games, I play all of them, 14 min halves

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Well last time I left off a couple months ago, Ball State was doing well for me in conference play. Well we tanked and lost in the first round of the Mid American Tournament.

But I dominated in my first year of recruiting as a mid-major. We grabbed 3 4* guards and a 3* big man (6'9). We were ranked 13th overall in recruiting!

Brown ended up winning the IVY League with a 14-2 conference record but lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They have recruited poorly in the two years since I've left so they will probably drop back down into nothing in a couple more years which is a little sad to see.

The start of this season has been very good as we have started 3-0. All of the freshman have been really productive and all 12 players on the team can play. There are a ton of possibilities with this team and I am really excited for what the season will hold! There is every chance we could win the conference championship!

Hey college hoopers it's me again with an update with my latest closed legacy with * drum roll plz* Florida A&M I'm in year 3 and just hit the 3rd place in my conference (I moved teams around so the conference I was in (The MEAC) wouldn't be such a cakewalk when I got a stacked team (the major schools other than my school in the conference are Creighton, Murray St, Butler, and Wichita St) anywho I am starting to pull in lesser 5* players that the bigger schools don't want which is perfectly fine with me cause it helps me do better.

An update with my Prairie View career legacy. It's year three and we lost to JSU in the SWAC tourney last year at the buzzer. But we did get three good recruit signings, so we should be better. The season hasn't started yet but we have a higher rated team then last year.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Here's a synopsis of my Career Legacy as told through quoted posts from previous pages in this thread:

My current squad is absolutely incredible. We're at 27-0 (15-0) thus far, and have somehow survived every game. We've had a few close calls as of late (most notably 59-57 against Michigan State), but they somehow always come through in the end to pull out a great win. For instance, after trailing 40-32 to kick off the 2nd half against #2 ranked Minnesota, we finished the game on a 49-20 run to win 81-60.

                    2023-24 Ohio State Buckeyes: 27-0 (15-0)
                    Starting 5:
PG Gerry Kent - 6'0 180lbs SR: A dead-eye shooter and a reliable point man. He's solid defensively. He's a four year starter and very good at finishing at the rim for his size.
SG Jared Palmer - 6'8 210lbs JR: An All-American. Averages 17 pts and 6 boards per game, and is the school's all-time leader in 3PT FG's made. Clutch.
SF Aly Norman - 6'7 243lbs SR: He doesn't do one thing outstandingly, but does a lot of things very well. Solid all-around player who will get the job done.
SF/PF J.B. Gordon - 6'9 228lbs Jr: All-American and NPOY candidate. Averages 22 pts per game and is the leader of this squad. Outstanding off the pick and roll and great at finishing in traffic. Deadly from 3PT range and clutch as ever. Dropped 50 points in the NCG last year. Very reminiscent of Kevin Durant.
C Brennan Brittian - 7'0 245lbs Jr: Struggles a bit with foul trouble and his offensive game could use some refinement, but he's an anchor in the middle as a defender.
                    Bench:
PG Torin Hailey - 6'1 204lbs Jr: A big-time spark plug off the bench. Lockdown defender and reeks havoc when he is on the floor. Also prone to scoring outbursts at random. Will start at PG next year, most likely.
SG Ryan Dalghren - 6'4 215lbs Sr: Was in my first recruiting class, started as a freshman, and took a step back over the past several years. Kind of a 7th man role, but has always filled it well and is a dead-eye shooter off the bench.
PF Jitim Chalmers - 6'11 243lbs So: Interior presence off the bench. Does very well scoring in close, and his length makes him a constant shot-blocking presence.
C Evan Baker - 7'3 279lbs rFr: Sleeper recruit who paid off with incredible potential. Outstanding size and surprisingly nimble. Needs more skill refinement but his size allows him to haul in rebounds and block shots with surprising results.

Just finished my regular season 30-0 with my Ohio State Buckeyes in 2023-24. Senior night was actually pretty special for me, as these were the seniors that I recruited to help turn around a program that had gone 3-27 before I got there and hadn't made the tourney in 8 years.

Just won the Big Ten Tournament to go along with my regular season title and my Buckeyes are 33-0 now. Beat Wisconsin 91-52, Michigan 77-37, and then Minnesota 65-55. I was very surprised at the first two games as I normally don't get many blowouts, but we were just on it. Then came the Minnesota championship game and we went 1-19 from 3 and shot 32% from the field, so I guess it's feast or famine for the tourney.
We got the #1 overall seed, and have a pretty easy path to the Final Four. Currently riding a 47 game winning streak, including 62 straight at home. Hopeful that I can win my 2nd straight national championship, as I'm losing anywhere from 4-5 starters after the season and we are in for a rebuilding period.

Just won my Final Four matchup with Stanford to move to 38-0 (18-0) and into the National Championship game. And who is waiting there for me? None other than Minnesota, the team that has played me to 3 nailbiters this year and was the #2 ranked team in the country all year long.

Going for back-to-back titles and a perfect season. Wish me luck fellas.

                    39-0. National Champions.

I just pounded #2 seed Minnesota by 20+ points to capture back-to-back titles, complete with the first undefeated season in 48 years (since 1975-76 Indiana).

                    Texas State
2007-08: 17-13, lost in first round. Struggled through my season, but PG Brandon Rush carried us through the conference tournament before we got steamrolled by #1 seed and eventual NC Duke in the first round of the NCAA's.
2008-09: 26-5, lost in Sweet 16. Landed a 5* JUCO C in the off-season, 7'1 260 lb Tyler Cain. IIRC he averaged around 25 pts/12 rebs per game, and he carried us to the Sweet 16 where we got demolished by #1 seed Villanova by 40.

Mark Few took a job at Maryland which meant that the Gonzaga job came open, and they tabbed me for it.

                    Gonzaga
2009-10: 32-3, Final Four. Had a stacked roster led by SF Austin Daye. We had a great season, and Daye carried us through the NCAA's. He averaged 28 points per game, including 32 of our 54 in our Final Four loss to 2x defending NC Duke.
2010-11: 32-1, Sweet 16. The most awesome yet disappointing season of my entire career. We were stacked, returning all 5 starters and adding in the nation's #1 PG with ridiculous quicks and handles. Went undefeated up until the NCAA's, where #4 seed Kansas downed us 82-77 behind superior 3 point shooting. The worst loss of my career by far. This was a NC caliber team.
2011-12: 25-9, First round. Had to completely rebuild, but I had the nation's #3 recruiting class coming in so things weren't too bad. With a lot of freshman came growing pains, but through sheer talent alone we won the conference regular season and tournament titles. Made it to the tourney as a #12 seed, and lost in the 1st round to #5 seed Miami by 10.

Jim Calhoun retired at this point, leaving the UCONN job vacant, and they chose me to take his place...

                    Connecticut
2012-13: 23-10, lost in the second round. Had no backcourt whatsoever, so this was a tough season to grind out.
2013-14: 34-4, National Champions. Brought in 3 5* G's, all of which made major contributions right off the bat. Had a dominant frontcourt coming back and beat fellow Big East school Louisville in the NCAA title game.
2014-15: 33-5, Elite Eight. Had some remnants of the dominant front court left, and had a great season as my backcourt played outstanding.
2015-16: 38-2, National Champions. Just an overall dominant team. First one consisting of all my guys, and they were just unreal. Great backcourt, great frontcourt, on a whole 'nother level than most teams. Won the NC 108-66 over Washington State.
2016-17: 39-1, National Champions. Even better than last year's squad, and that's saying something. I'm pretty sure the lone game we lost was the only time we didn't win by double digits all year. This is the best team I've fielded to date in any basketball game.
2017-18: 26-9, Sweet 16. A rebuilding year for us with a couple of 4 year starters leaving the squad, but we still made a nice run in the NCAA's thanks to our dominating PF whose name escapes me.
2018-19: 29-8, Final Four. We had a SF named Connor (last name escapes me) who was just incredible. Won all of the major NPOTY honors and carried us to the Final Four on his back. We got beat by a better team in that game though, because we didn't have much offense outside of Connor.

At this point, Thad Matta finally got fired and I took over an Ohio State team coming off a 3-27 season and one that hadn't made the tourney in almost 8 years.

                    Ohio State
2019-20: 17-14, missed NCAA's. With how poor of a roster I had, I was forced to lean on my lone good player, my C. Pretty sure he won conference POTY for his efforts.
2020-21: 25-11, second round. I pulled in a pretty decent recruiting class that made an immediate impact, taking this team back to the tourney for the first time in a decade.
2021-22: 29-8 Elite Eight. I landed a stud 5* SF and 5* SG who both came in and started immediately. They both made immediate impacts, and I had a great team, but unfortunately we got beat by Florida 68-62 in the elite Eight when we just couldn't keep up with them from behind the arc.
2022-23: 35-4, National Champions. Everything came together this year. With an entire lineup full of former 5*'s, we had a great year, capped off with a 20 point win in the national championship game.
2023-24: 39-0, National Champions. I returned my entire starting 5 and my top bench players from last year’s Champs, and we put together the first undefeated season in 48 years. You can check out my starting 5 down below, we were just filthy. Incredible team. It certainly wasn’t easy, as we had our share of close calls (Most notably 59-57 over Michigan State in East Lansing), however we found a way to dig deep every time we needed it.
2024-25: 22-0. This team in all honesty, is not all that great. We have great rebounders and outstanding size though (Along with luckily getting all of our tough B10 contests at home so far), and have somehow survived unscathed. Our backcourt is pretty mediocre, and I could definitely see us limping down the home stretch of this season.

                    Texas State: 43-18
                    Gonzaga: 89-13
                    Connecticut: 222-39
                    Ohio State: 167-37
                    Total: 521-107
                    National Championships: 5 (2014, 2016, 2017, 2023, 2024)
                    Regular Season Championships: 10
                    Conference Tourney Championships: 11
                    NCAA Tournaments: 16
                    Sweet 16's: 12
                    Final 4's: 7
                    Pre-season #1: 1
                    20-win seasons: 15
                    Conference COY: 9
                    National COY: 5
                    All-Conference Players: 31
                    All-American Players: 9
                    National POY's: 3
                    Pro Draftees: 26
Currently sitting at 22-0 (9-0) in 2024-25, riding a 75 game winning streak, and a 78 game home winning streak. Like I said above, this team really is not that good. We've gotten some lucky bounces (Ex: Arizona fouled us on a 3pter at the buzzer on the road, we drained all 3FT's to win), and we really on our outstanding size and rebounding ability. Our backcourt are both freshman and have been pretty mediocre so far. We have also had every tough game except for the Arizona game at home so far, and have 5 road games against Top 25 B10 teams on the road to finish things off. Could definitely see us limping home down the stretch.

Went on a big CH binge today and finished out the regular season.

28-3 (15-3). Won the conference regular season title. Indiana ended my winning streak at 79 and my home winning streak at 81, however I got revenge by pounding them by 24 in their house in the de facto regular season title game.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I started a new one with Hampton last week. I forgot how frustrating starting from the bottom was. I think I'm 3 games into the conference schedule and I'm something like 7-12. Had wins over Maryland (on a buzzer beater) and Virginia (Harris nailed a 3 to tie to put it into OT, but I won by 6) but then I lose to a ton of bad teams, Albany got us by 16 the next game after Maryland and the game after the VA win we got blown out by Florida A&M by 22.

I chose Hampton because they had the most upper classmen of the starter schools and had a Fr. PG starting so I felt I could recruit some guys as the older guys left and build around the PG...but at this rate I might not have a job long enough to see the PG even become a JR. They have a solid Jr Center too who can beast down low, he's leading the nation in boards and is up there in ppg.

Still a lot of fun though, in my old one I built a team up then went on to Wake and did well so I had gotten used to winning. Hopefully I can have a good class come in and start running the conference next season.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Thought I would updated you on my Coach Youngblood thread.

Started with UC Davis and stayed for 4 years, I am now at Gonzaga for my 3rd season. In both Year 1 and Year 2 with the Zag's I dominated the WCC and made it all the way to the National Championship game (something Few was never able to accomplish) but I have lost both (First to Oklahoma State then to Maryland). I also have a National Title loss with UC Davis.

So that makes 0/3. I wonder if I will end up like some of the other college basketball greats to never win the big one at this point.

Currently in year 3, I am just getting ready to finish up non-conference play. I am 12-4 and have Top-25 Oregon at home for my final game. I am finally in the Top-25 (ranked 21 I believe). Crazy to think that back to back NC appearances and I can't even get in the Top-25 preseason poll (Granted my team is like a 85 Overall).

For some reason with this legacy I can't recruit. My Coach has a A in Charisma, but every year the Mr BB from Washington signs with either Oregon, OSU or UW, pretyt much the same with any 4* guy from Washington as well. In my 7 seasons I still havn't landed a 5* recruit, not even a world one and my highest recruit was a #54 Overall 4* PG from Canada who is 6'5 so I moved him to SG. He came in as a 79 OVR and is a 81 now as a SO. He is by far my best 3pt shooter.

Last year after my NC loss, I turned down a chance to go to Boston College and Penn State. Didn't go to BC because they had 6 SR's and the coach had already filled all 6 scholarships with low tier 3 an 2* players. They were coming off zero wins in the ACC. I almost left for PSU, but told myself, why being how 9 of my top 11 players were coming back I wanted 1 more change with the Zag's. My coaches Overall is high enough now that next year if a bigtime job opens up I should be able to get one. Being a West Coast guy I want to play in the Pac-10 someday but would love to finish my career with Boise State or maybe a MWC school like UNLV.. However I am totally open to spending some time in the Big Ten/12, A-10, ACC/SEC or Big East at some point in my career

With my UNC open legacy, we went 35-5 and won the championship. Our only out of conference loss was to UNC Asheville and we went 12-4 in the ACC, sweeping the regular season series with Duke and beating NC State for the conference tourney wind.

The Final Four was us, Memphis, Kentucky, and LSU, we beat Memphis easily and then assassinated LSU in double OT, about 56-50, McAdoo getting a clutch and one to put them away.

Back to back National titles. 39-0 each year and my whole starting lineup is gone. I have some good players down low but my backcourt isn't very strong besides my starting line up. I also only have 1 scholarship ATM, hopefully the top Pg signs with me. I'll definite finish the last 13 years at Syracuse and hope I get 1000 wins before I retire.

One thing, I have never had a national player of the year. This year with a young inexperienced team I think I might try to go for it with my senior sg JR Byrd who i was surprised didnt leave early. He's now 91ovr with 93 3pt
                              Paul Harris...thats all

Currently 12-4 with Iowa. All the losses has been by double digits which is frustrating. Most of them were close until halftime and then I just fell apart. Every team I've lost to (Iowa State, Michigan, Michigan State and Indiana) were ranked.

It's going to be a struggle to make the NCAA's. The Big Ten is loaded and my team just plays terrible away from home. I did lose Mike Gesell for 14 days due to a quad strain. That hasn't helped and Melsan Basabe missed 2 games because of a foot injury.

Finally start playing some of the "weaker" Big Ten teams this week. I really need wins over Penn State and Northwestern to get back on track.
