Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I'm about to embark on my first go around in the ABL, any tips or advice?

Also, I recruit four 2*recruits, but they are rated pretty low, I believe they are (49,49,48,52). All bigs, which I could really use, seeing as though I only have one player over 6'7. I'm thinking about red shirting two of them and playing two.

I've gone through it a few times, I just like to use coach mode to watch games (because regular cpu vs cpu will cause the players to stand in place, for unknown reasons). I don't really have tips, but I do know it helps in recruiting underclassmen (freshman, sophs) since you can't even call or offer them schollys and it a great source and discovering hidden gems.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I gave in to 2K8 once again after 2K14 became a bore...

I started up a new UConn legacy a few months back, simmed the first season (with 2013 rosters) and plowed through the second season.

I moved all of the current ACC teams (plus Louisville and UConn) into the Big East since the ACC isn't large enough in 2K8.

The season was a blast, I went 32-5 and lost to Kentucky in the National Championship (let's hope that's not an accurate predictor of tonight's game!). UK had every single real-life player back from this year.

Highlights of the year were being the winning the conference regular season and tournament, winning at Cameron Indoor, going undefeated at Gampel and finishing the regular season ranked #2 nationally.

The low point was losing at Wake Forest, who finished 8-22! They averaged 66 ppg on the season but dropped 89 on me. My defense and rebounding simply didn't show up that game.

The ACC Touranment Final was a throwback rivalry, I knocked off Pitt by 7 after trailing by as many as 14 in the first half.

          On to the Big Dance...

          W #16 Texas State
          W #9 Washington State
          W #5 Arizona
          W #3 Florida
          W #5 Maryland (National Semis)
          L #1 Kentucky (National Title)

The Final Four was crazy. I had beaten Maryland by 20+ points in both regular season meetings. I have a very balanced team, no one averages more than 16 ppg and all five starters are in double-figures. DeAndre Daniels came out and scored 54 points for me. It was by far the best individual game I've had in 2K8. I think I topped 40 points once before this game. He had 29 in the first half and I won by 24 points. Maryland's defense was sieve, it was probably the easiest game I had all year since the early season cupcakes.

The championship game was a defensive slugfest. Both teams were rated 99 on DEF. Kentucky was 36-1, their only loss (ironically) was to Maryland back in November in a holiday tournament. After Daniels' huge game in the semifinals he naturally couldn't throw the ball in the ocean. He missed his first 10 3PT and finished 1-13 (I never shoot that many threes but UK shut down the paint). He was 5-20 on the game even though he had a lot of open looks. It was simply an off night.

It was a tie game with about 4 minutes to go when my whole team went cold. My offense was still running smoothly but the only open looks were on the perimeter and they all clanked off the iron. After a slew of fouls UK won the game 66-56. They finished 37-1, certainly impressive given 2K8's messy sim engine.

There isn't a camera like that in the game, they only used those views for screenshots promoting the game.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I decided it would be a good idea to try and use a 2007-08 named roster, and played a closed legacy with the players the game was made for. I have restarted countless legacies and feel terrible every time I do; this time I want to change that.

I chose the Sacramento State Hornets. With what seems to be great recruiting potential and a young and talented team, I feel like the future of this legacy is extremely bright. It's gonna be one hell of a ride.

I have thought about making a dynasty thread, but am tentatively decided against. I love long storytelling, but the problem with posting that on here is that it takes far too long, and I eventually got disinterested with my first one.

For now, I'll just post a few updates here and there on this thread. I need some way to stop myself from starting over!

Well, I'll be getting boat raced all year this coming season, I can see it now. I have no, count it, no seniors on my roster. My tallest player is a 6'8 sophomore, with no help coming off the bench. I believe the tallest player I have coming off the bench of 6'3.

I may be playing two freshman with overalls of (48) and (49). They may be lower rated, by they have great size, (7'0 and 6'9).

I also made an open legacy where I Sim the first season and play the rest. I picked UK.I went 22-10 beating many ranked teams to earn a 2 seed. Hers how the Big Dance went down:
                        2 Kentucky vs 15 Oral Roberts 71-63
                        2 Kentucky vs 10 Davidson 84-82
                        2 Kentucky vs 6 Fordham 69-63
                        2 Kentucky vs 5 Michigan State 83-77
                        2 Kentucky vs 4 Louisville 93-64
2 Kentucky vs 2 North Carolina 83-87 (National Championship)

It sucks to lose the national championship, but can't wait till next year. The only players that left were seniors Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford.

In my 2020-2021 season, I just took SDSU to the Final Four in Houston, my 3rd FF with the Aztecs since taking over 6 seasons ago. The matchups are 2 SDSU vs. 3 Clemson and 4 UNC vs. 11 Maryland. I believe I was robbed of a 1 seed because I finished with a better record and higher RPI than George Washington. Karma got them as they lost to Houston in their second game.
