Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Love this freakin' game. Started a closed Legacy with Western Illinois. Managed to get both the regular season and conference championships while finishing with a 27-4 record the first year. Made it to the NCAA Tournament, but got destroyed by Duke in the second round. Second year, we finish 27-7 and once again win both the regular season and conference championships. We actually make it to the Elite Eight somehow before losing a tough game to Notre Dame. I'm in my third year now, and I decided to take the job at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Saint John's had an opening, and I was really upset they didn't want to hire me. Oh well.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Started a closed legacy with Eastern Illinois based solely on their logo. They're a good team, I went with 08-09 rosters and they've got a few good players. A SG that drains from anywhere and can drive pretty well, and a tall center (60 overall sophomore) and a good freshmen point who can throw it down (61 overall). They both have B- potential, and I only have 1 player leaving next year, so it's shaping up to be pretty good. Ive gotten lucky in OOC so far and played some bad teams, so I'm 9-4. I think I'm going to stay here for 3 years, unless I get a great offer after two. Recruiting is going decent, I have a chance at a three star and a guaranteed 2 star for one open spot. Next year is going to be great, and I think I'll have a good chance of winning the conference to make the big danceGig'em Aggies!Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Man, this game is just...weird. I'm now 6-3 with UW-Green Bay. I swear, I can pretty much dominate the teams in my conference, but whenever we play one of the big schools, it's a complete murder. They don't miss ANYTHING. Pretty sure it isn't my sliders though.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
That's how it should work... you should be good in your conference if you're a little team but still struggle against the big guys. If we all went 35-0 in year one it would ruin dynasty modeComment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I get what you're saying, but it still doesn't feel realistic to me. I never feel like I lose because the other teams better; I feel like I lose because the 'big guys' never miss a shot. The games just turn into a shootout that I can't seem to win.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
A couple weeks back I started a new closed legacy with UC Davis (after I accidentally deleted my SFNY save, thanks Bud Light). Spent three seasons at UC Davis (I sim most of the regular season and play the conf/post season tourneys). I finished below .500 in the first year with an awful squad, then made a ridiculous run to the Elite 8 in my second season with essentially the same squad. In the third season after completely revamping the roster with mostly 3* recruits, I had one of the strongest teams in the league despite playing only Fresh and Soph. I won the Big West in the third season but lost in the conference semi-final and missed the Tourney (lost on the road in first round of the NIT).
After my third season at UCD I took the job at Bradley (turned down Boise State after my second season Elite 8 run). I wanted to put myself in a position to take a big job in the midwest/east coast in a couple seasons. Immediately I've found recruiting a lot more difficult. CA seems to have a lot of players and less competition compared to the midwest. My current Bradley squad has some decent players (around 70 overall), and a highly rated SF (79 overall), but has no depth at guard. My offense is pretty guard-dependent, so the start of my season has been rough. I'm 4-6 overall with loses to bigger schools and a couple similar teams.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
reading the thread so far, it seems as if everybody is playing career mode.
what about open legacy mode accompanied with nba 2k8. am i the only one here that does that?
also, i turn off the "players leaving early" option.
i mainly play the PS2 version because i have a legacy/association going on with other people. we're in march of year 6 of the college season and i guess the nba season will kick off in a week or two. LOL. DONT JUDGE US. thats the one common system that we all have.
the xbox360 versions i play on my own time so things move slower on that end. im still in year 1 of the nba season.(i completed the college season a while ago.
thats my introductioni'll post summaries later but im more interested in reading the thread. this board is right up my alley.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
So BDC am I right in thinking you play a season of CH2k8, export a draft class, and then play a season of NBA2k8? If so, that's a pretty sweet plan. Can I ask what teams you use?Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
No judgment at all BDC...
For me I can say I just like closed legacy because it provides not only more of a challenge, but also much more randomness in not necessarily where you start as a coach and with a program, but where you go from there...
Open is great if you don't want to start at the bottom, but it presents a completely different dynamic IMO--If you need it, you don't have it. If you have it you don't need it. But if you need and you don't have it, you want it. If you don't have any of it, then you really don't know how to get more of it to get started then anyways now do you? --Comment

Do exported players become really effective?Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Dusted the disk off a few weeks ago got back into year 2 of my Miami Dynasty with the rosters from 2013-2014... To much fun... turned leaving early off... fun as hell to watch the dukes and kentuckys stack there teams...with duke building around jabari parker.... and the insane amount of details and features in the mode and how you can change just about everything about your team and all the different stats.... I also love the history and accolades tracking being able to look back on previous conference winners and all the individual awards being recorded..... being able to to see how highly a player was ranked out of high school and all there previous stats and awards they've garnered...I could go ON and ON... AND Im still finding new little features and things 7 yrs later that i never knew about.... This modeSimply GOAT

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
One thing I just noticed finishing up a season at IPFW....
One of my So., soon to be Jr. left the school for the NBA....
But unlike in real life, I don't immediately get that scholarship to recruit with in the offseason and fill....thankfully, he was the only player of my 13 scholarship athletes to depart so it was not a huge deal...
HOWEVER...
What if say I were at Kentucky like IRL, and they had 5-6 guys leave for the draft....I then have 5-6 spots that I can not fill because of the logic presented...
That seems just a bit silly....
I mean I would imagine no one has had a situation where they had that many guys leave at once, but I can't be sure of that.
It does pose an interesting dilemma though if several guys do it in the game.--If you need it, you don't have it. If you have it you don't need it. But if you need and you don't have it, you want it.
