Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Finally got my hands on the game. Just waiting for the PS3 to come and then I'm in. I'm going to be my Northeastern Huskies.
Want to play a good, regional schedule in the non-conference with a tournament thrown in, maybe one big road game. I'd love to become a New England power first, win the AE (I'm moving us back where we belong) and go from there.
    Thoughts? Advice?

Northeastern always has some strong seasons in my legacies. That is a school I would like to coach in a future legacy as well.

Nice. I wonder if they're bad enough to get them in closed legacy right away

You could try replacing the starters with the backups before you start the close legacy, if they aren't available.

I haven't checked, but I would be surprised if Northeastern is a closed legacy option starting out.

I like Brock's idea anyway, except I would just delete the best players and replace with student managers and the like. In football games, we would call that the Death Penalty dynasty.

It's that time of year again...

Decided to fire up my IU legacy I've had since the game dropped. I'm in 2022, won out the B10 regular season and tourney with a team filled with studs all in the upper 80s. We get the top seed in the tourney but end up losing to Mississippi St in the Sweet 16 - then things got worse.

One of my favorite all-time guys junior C TJ Keller (88/A+ potential) declared for the draft. I was planning on having him as the centerpiece of my offense in 2023, but now it looks like a complete rebuild. So I lose my top entire starting 5, I knew my role players would have to step up...

After a somewhat disappointing recruiting class (2 Mr. BBs, no 5 stars) I was really worried about my squad going into 2023. We go to Hawaii, unranked, for an early season tournament and first round we take on #5 Arizona State. I was worried to say the least, I really didn't know who was going to produce offensively. After being down by 18 at half, my boys somehow turn it around in the second half and end up winning by 2 points, a total team effort to pull off a major upset. We then beat a weak BC team in the semi's only to get crushed by #1 Texas Tech in the finals.

Overall, I am really surprised with how my young, inexperienced team hung in there with some of the nation's best. We are now ranked #25 and after a game against IUPUI my boys are set to travel to Tempe to for a rematch against #11 Arizona State.

Still blows my mind that a game that came out in 2007 still hasn't gotten old.

I just got blown out by 21 to Saint Mary's using my Portland Pilots. We're fighting it out for the conference title with Santa Clara. They just took a 6 point loss to usin their last game. This is my 3rd year with the Pilots after leading PVU to a few tournaments and conference championships.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Finally got my legacy going, looking past the arena being wrong. I'm playing on a high view so it doesn't bother me.
I'm my alma mater Northeastern. It's a young team in the game, which is good since it gives me time to figure out recruiting. I was surprised how well I was doing recruiting early, getting some attention from a 4-star SF (a position I need badly) but when I figured out I wasn't going to get higher than 4 or 5 on his list I turned my attention to a 3-star SF I'm in a tight battle for. I only have 2 scholarships to give this year, and I'm bringing in a juco PG to help my young guys along.
It feels realistic that I'm in a number of battles for players with the likes of Harvard, BC, Holy Cross (BC is getting all the good players from MA) I'm focusing recruiting locally because 1) there's a good amount of players in Boston (where NU is), 2) I want my team to feel realistic and 3) I want to really promote a regional atmosphere. I always hate when NU is playing non-conference games against low majors from the midwest that no one cares about. I want to take on New England.
To that end I put NU back in the America East where it belongs. I did some other minor conference realignment, trying to stress regionality again. (BC back in the Big East, the Florida schools OUT of the Big East, etc).
In short, I've tried to make it feel like the 80s or early 90s again.
For my first year I'm trying to build those rivalries, scheduling as many area teams as possible. It's impossible to get anyone good to come play me, but hopefully that changes with wins and isn't just a product of my conference. I've scheduled good road games though at UMass and URI for example. I opened at the 2k event at UConn and played a tourney at the Palestra, which was really cool.
I'm 4-3 so far with losses to UConn, UMass and a bad one against Harvard I let slip away in the last 2 minutes at home.
I actually like that recruiting and scheduling (let alone the results) are tough. When I played NCAA 10 I had CCSU winning tourney games by year 2 and in the Big East by year 3, which was ridiculous. I'd love to make a Final Four run with NU someday obviously, but it shouldn't happen overnight. I want to feel like I earned it.
Any thoughts/advice, I'd love to hear it.

I have been playing this game since I got it for Christmas in 2007!! I still play it to this day and it is as good today as it was all those years ago! I used to play online as stubbyscooter88 and there were several of you all that I played against in some great battles from seeing your names on here.

I have played so many legacies on here and once played through until I retired my coach after 30+ years. Unfortunately my hard drive crashed on my 360 and I lost it. I feel as if I have started a legacy with almost every team you can start with and this year I decided to use one that I have never used... Charleston Southern. Let me tell you, it has been the greatest one so far of them all. I am 5 seasons in, still with Charleston Southern and don't plan on leaving until I find the job I really want to land.

I have all of the seasons logged and would be willing to share it on here, but it is in Excel and I don't see anywhere to attach anything to my post. Would love to share it with others and get some feedback! Message me on here for how to get the spreadsheet over to you to take a look at.

                              Stay safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Looking back, I had two great years at Fresno State followed by a bad one and the Big East gig came available so I had to take it. The first two years at Villanova were solid but we haven't found much success after that. I'm hoping to change that in the next couple of seasons.
