    Hello everyone

I have finally finished the simulation legacy for 40 seasons.

follow the link above, it was a great time building my teams and I had more fun not playing these games than I did in other legacies that I played in.

Thanks for the posts guys! Crazy how this game is still alive after almost 10 years of being in existence!

Looks awesome man, but can you help me with something? I noticed your single player record for ppg in a season is only 14.2 ppg, that has to be a mistake right? The guy with the career ppg record has a higher average than that, unless I'm misunderstanding the doc

edit: oops, I missed it on the very first page lol, 23.9 ppg is the season high, my bad!

Finished my 1st season at Northeastern, going 10-6 in the league, which was my goal. I figured that'd get me a top four spot, but it WON THE LEAGUE! Then, however, with the conference tourney in Binghamton, they picked me off as the 8-seed and went on to win the league. As the regular season champ I got to go to the NIT, where I trailed Texas A&M (who should have gotten in) by one at half before fading late. I finished 16-16 and won coach of the year in my league.
I was chasing two kids hard in recruiting, and got one (they were both at 99 interest forever). In the offseason, there was a kid I had been interested in early but backed off when I saw he was looking at Pitt first, who ended up in the Final Four. When he was still out there in the summer I took a flyer, and after one visit he signed right away! Now I have two 3-star freshmen to build on a team which lost just one senior (who never played).
How much playing time do you have to give a frosh who listed playing time as a priority to keep him happy?

Sounds like a good land in the recruiting scene... As far as the question about playing time for freshmen, I would play them if their overall was greater than the other players at their position regardless of class (FR,SO, JR, SR). If this is an inherited roster which it looks like it is since this is your first year, its likely both recruits will come in with a greater overall that bench players at the same position. You may see some reduction in your team chemistry in the short term. Long term however you may build a better chemistry with younger players playing for 3-4 years together.

Does that make sense? Best of luck to your team!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Yeah, I've never really bothered to pay attention to whether a recruit wants playing time or not. I just play the best players for my system. Every now and then I have a player transfer out, but usually they just weren't good enough to play in that case, and it's no big loss. I usually play 9-10 players in my rotation, though, and if my team is good (as my WVU teams are in my career legacy) and we blow out a lot of teams, all players on the active roster will get their fair share of playing time, which tends to keep players happy.

I've actually been trying to play with an eight-man rotation as of late, but it's sometimes difficult to juggle the minutes to keep everyone's fatigue up sometimes (I like to keep everyone on the floor in the 80+ energy range).

Bought this game again from Gamestop and started a career legacy with Alabama State. The moment I get an offer from any SEC school, I'm leaving this team. Who knows what happens after that.

Went 1-8 in non-conference games where most of them weren't close at all. However, I did beat Grambling to start conference play 37-34 It was ugly

It does. The two freshmen I'm bringing in are now the 2 best players on my team based on overall rating. I feel bad about benching a couple kids I rode to the league title last year, but I'll find time for everyone. Have to start the best guys.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

In year 2 of my Florida A&M legacy I missed a game tying shot as time expired at Cameron Indoor to fall to 0-7 or 0-8. Cal is next, then conference play begins. I don't understand how I can almost beat Duke, yet get run off the court by Hampton.

Hopefully I can finish better than 7-22 like last year, but it's looking like it'll be close unless I clean up in conference play. My team feels like it's playing the best it has I'm the 1.5ish years, so hopefully we keep improving. Non-con doesn't matter much this season. All power 5 teams on the road. I need to make real progress in conference play to hopefully keep my job.

Next season I might play a few teams closer to my level non-con. I just went with what it gave me to start this year.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Wow, I'm rereading this thread and found posts of mine from my current closed career legacy that I made in 2009. That's amazing. Nearly 7 real life years I've been playing this legacy. I don't play Ch2k8 that often anymore until March rolls around, but every year it somehow sucks back in. Amazing how a game can still keep people playing almost 10 years after its release

I started off at Texas State, moved on to Gonzaga, then to Connecticut (Where I won 3 NCAA titles), and I'm currently at my dream job at Ohio State (Where I won back-to-back titles and had my first ever undefeated season 2 years ago). I plan on staying at Ohio State for the duration of this legacy.

I've had some pretty incredible seasons, teams, and players.

My first year at Gonzaga, we rode Austin Daye to a Final Four run. My second year, I brought Daye back and had a great team around him, and we went undefeated, only to be knocked off 82-77 by Kansas in the Sweet 16 (Still my toughest loss of all-time). I recruited a 5 man recruiting class full of 5*'s, however I only got to play 1 season with them before bolting for UCONN.

At UCONN I inherited a loaded roaster from Coach Calhoun. It was lacking in back-court talent though. I responded by bringing in 3 5* guards and a 3* sharpshooter. The result? A 144-12 (66-6) run that included 3 National Championships in 4 years (2 of those back-to-back), with 3 Conference Tournament & Regular Season Titles to go with it, and the worst year being an Elite Eight finish.

At Ohio State, I inherited a program that had gone 3-27 the year before and hadn't made the tournament in a decade. I missed the tournament for the first time in my career in year 1, but my recruiting paid off. I landed SF J.B. Gordon (Kevin Durant clone, National Player of the Year, played at the 4 spot for me), SG Jordan Palmer (6-8 and set a school record for 3's made and percentage), SF Aly Norman (Good 3PT shoot, solid off the dribble, and evolved into the National Defensive Player of the Year), and PG Gary Kent (COF, Steady leader, Sharpshooter, great distributor). These guys were the core of my 2 time national champions. Gordon dropped 50 in a blowout win over Washington State in the 2023 NCG, and then scored 32 in a close win over rival Minnesota in the 2024 NCG.

Below, you can see my career record/summary.

I see you and I are having similar career paths. You went 17-13 and then 26-5 in your first two years. I went 7-22 last year and am 1-10 this year. I should be 2-9 (2-1), however my team decided to give up 11 points in 55 seconds to lose 72-67 to NC A&T. My team is playing so much better at the moment. These sliders make every game a battle, but I feel like my luck might be able to turn and I might be able to get a decent run going here, My team has progressed to a 72 to this point on the year making me one of the top teams in the league. Playing the ridiculous schedule in non-con has also helped me tremendously because I found out more about my strengths and weaknesses and now that the opposition's talent level has dropped off so much I am able to use my strengths even better and hide my weaknesses more effectively as well. I just wish I had not missed the buzzer beater against Duke, that would've been a monumental win for me.

I just had a game tied 21-21 with 8 minutes left in the half. By halftime it was 49-29 them. They recorded 9 blocks, 3 steals, hit 7 straight 3's(10 total shots made in a row)..... Decided to just turn the game off. Chalking that one up as the game just going bananas for some reason. I literally went 8 minutes without a shot hitting the rim. I had a mismatch(their 5'8" PG on my 6'8" PF) in the post that resulted in the PG getting a block. I'll come back and play it another time.

When you're first starting out with a small school, a lot of times it comes down to luck. My first year I only made the NCAA tournament thanks to 2 buzzer beaters in the conference tourney and the Conference Player of the Year on the regular season champs being knocked out by injury.

I then somehow beat out Oklahoma State and Texas Tech for a 4* JUCO C who dominated the conference and led us to the 26-5 season. I bolted shortly thereafter for greener pastures and better talent at Gonzaga.

In my other legacy it was more like your's. I think i went 14-18 with Chattanooga in year 1, then went 22 and something in year 2 and made it to the conference championship every year and year 5 and 6 were 30 win seasons with year 7 being an undefeated run until I lost to the Citadel in the conference championship. I went to Gonzaga and struggled to get near 20 wins in two years before that legacy came to a stop.

This one is the same sliders, but it's just a pain. I have zero scoring ability outside of a player or two. No big man has rebounding or post offense above 65 and only one player has a 3pt ability above 70. Take away my driving ability and I can't do anything. And it seems like everyone starts off man until I drive a few times and I see a 2-3 all game and can't drive and lose.

I had that same problem in a legacy I did, my highest rated three point guy was a 68. However, my sg was really good at finishing his layups (somewhere around low 80s) so when they went 2-3 on me I swung the ball opposite to the sf, and then quickly back up top to pg, then over to sg. Because of how the defenders move in the 2-3 in this game I always had a second before the defender on that side recovered. So you drive in right at their center in the middle. If the guy on the lower block comes to help dish it to your big man on that block, if its just you vs their center just go up and hope he fouls you and doesn't send your shot into the stands. I either had a tough layup or I was on the foul line 8/10 times

just recently got this game back and i started a career legacy with dartmouth.
