Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Was violently ill today, so decided to pass time (was all I could do) by starting a new Legacy. I checked 2kshare and remembered people saying funkyfresh (ps3) had some good rosters so I tried them and like them. I made a few personal edits to Michigan's roster but overall I was impressed.

Anyway, I decided to go with Wofford. They began as a 68 overall team, my goal was to stay with them for 3-4 years and build them through recruiting without playing any games. Then move on to a weak mid-major and turn them into a giant, playing as many games as I can (I'm a sim freak, it's really addicting).

I was able to recruit very well, so well in fact I was somewhat shocked. Year 1 wasn't great, we went 9-22. Year 2 was a complete turnaround as we finished 19-12, getting to the conference title game and losing (it was real tempting to play that game). The recruits were coming in, even 4 star players were showing interest.

Third year was a disappointment, our team was really young and didn't have chemistry yet, or a veteran leader. I was mildly concerned about losing my job after going 13-18, but the AD saw how well I was recruiting and knew the ship would righted soon enough.

Year 4 was another monster year for recruiting, signed a 4 star SF in season, ranked 35 overall and the scouting report is indicating he could really be a stud. Also had a 3 star PF ranked overall in the top 200, and looks like he could have easily been a 4 star kid. Finally, there was a 4 star pg in the mix, he didn't have a good outside shot but his speed, quickness, handling, and passing were all B+ and I'll take that any day for a pg.

The team was 80 overall at this point, but still working on the chemistry. We did improve over the ugly season the year before, finishing 18-11, but once again missing out on the post season.

Coaching carousel shows I have an offer from Pepperdine and I'm really thinking hard about staying another year with Wofford just to see how good they end up. Pepperdine was rated 77 overall, coming off a 7-22 season. It fit the credentials of a weak mid major I can focus on rebuilding, and actually PLAYING some games lol. Wofford, however was 83 overall and the starting lineup next season would be 2 freshman, 2 sophomores, and a junior. I mean the team was just stacked.

I went ahead and accepted the Pepperdine job (reluctantly), but I'll be closely following my Wofford kids to see how good they end up. I'll probly schedule them non-conference for a couple years. I wouldn't be surprised if they became a 90 overall team in 2 years.

So, now it's off to Pepperdine, hopefully I'll be able to recruit California hard and knock Gonzaga out as top dog in the WCC in a few seasons.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

My Brown Bears season is almost over, but not yet. I finished conference play and ended the year at 20-5, with a 12-2 confernece record. I made the tournament as a 7 seed and faced 10 seed DePaul in the first round.

The game was very interesting. My best big man had 3 fouls quick and sat out for most of the game. I relied on my 2 good shooters off the bench after falling behind by 6, and boy did they go off. One player hit 3 straight 3s which knotted it up, then the other player hit 4 3s the rest of teh half and i was up 5 at the break.

Without much inside presence, i relied practically only on the 3 ball, as my defense wasnt stopping DePaul too well and the only reason i kept my lead with with the 3. I went up as much as 10 but it didnt last long, and DePaul cut it to 3 pretty quickly, but when they had to foul, i hit just enough free throws to outlast DePaul by 4 points. I was 16-32 from behing the arc, easily the most ive shot and most ive made with this team. I play 2 seed Purdue in the next round, and i feel like my only chance at winning this is similar to the DePaul game: hit 3s, but try and get my big man some points inside to make Purdue have to defend the post. We'll see how that goes

lost to Purdue. It was close throughout but late they just took it. JaJuan Johnson had 18 rebounds which killed me. Ended the year 21-6 and now onto year 2.

Played the first game against Hawaii and my new 7'6" freshman is a much needed addition. He had 23 and 11 along with 2 blocks (had 3 others that didnt go on the stats for some reason). Also had a SG on redshirt from last year thats my best player now. Expecting big things this year. Also recruited a 5'8" PG thats a solid all around player i could see starting as long as hes here

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Ugh! My starting PG, SG, and SF all have a 3 PT rating of 77, yet they're shooting in the 20% range for the year through 10 games. My best player percentage wise is my new starting SF with a 72 rating who hits almost 50% of the time.

I don't know whats happened. Earlier in the year I had a game where I shot 19-43 from the three. Through the first few games of the year my PG and SF were in the 40% range, now they're in the 20s. When I go to the three point drills I get a perfect release every time, so I know I have the jump shot timed. Does anyone know what is going on? Its been about a 6 game stretch of my PG and SF with 77 Three rating hitting under 30% combined. I never take a three unless it is completely wide open, but that doesn't matter apparently.

Just played a team who ran a triangle defense that left my PG unguarded, yet he went 0-9 from three. The closest any defender ever got on any 3 attempt was maybe 7-8 feet.

Started a new Career Legacy with Howard University. I simmed all the Non-Conference games, and playing the Conference games. I think I'm going to stick to this for three or four years until I get back in thr groove of things with being absent from playing the game for a few years, and find a slider set I really like. The recruiting and building a team is sooooo addicting.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

3-1 so far in year 2 with Brown. Had 3 wins to start off the year, but against Gonzaga, i wasnt able to stop them from hitting long 2s and 3s, and it hurt me. My 7'6" center has been great, but its kinda expected since scoing inside is a lot easier. Last season, i won most my games because of 3s, but this season i havent been able to him them as easily. My new freshman PG is ok, but he is better than the one that graduated, so its an upgrade there. My new SG is my best rated, but his shot is weird and im not consistent at all with it. Then my SF and SG that came off the bench last year and were my best 3 point shooters havent been as consistent as the year before, so Ive been relying on my big men to get points in the paint. I play Washington next, so if i can hit the 3 ball, i think i can spark the upset

Started a career legacy with 2010-11 rosters made by raiderfan on 2kshare. I have UC Davis and right now we are 1-4 to start off the year. We have played some good competition to start out including Texas and Mississippi State (who was ranked 17th at the time) so hopefully that will help in conference play. I have 5 scholarships and have offered to a PG, SG, SF, C, C who are all 3* recruits. A couple of them are JC recruits. The link to my legacy is below if anyone is interested.

Im like 6-1 or 7-1 right now. This Brown squad i have is really nice. The players there were already great shooters, and with my new freshmen this team is great. I have one scholarship for next year, and im either goin for a PF or a SG. I have enough guards, but i really dont like my starting SG that much and would rather have him come off the bench as a PG next season and have my current backup PG get a reduced roll. But i may still go with the PF. He's a better overall player than the SG, but i feel like i need a good shooter more than another good postman when i have a 7'6" center.

so i did a lot of simming all the way to the end of the regular season. i finished 19-5, with 3 conference losses to win the conference. I beat Harvard twice (played both). First time they were ranked #23 in the country, and i beat them by 4 at home. Then a few weeks later... They are ranked #12! I beat them by 10 in their place. I made the tounry as a 6 seed (about 2 to 4 spots higher than i thought) and played #11 Ohio State. Not a favorable matchup. Interesting enough, BYU and Western Michigan are 1-seeds

Bought the game on saturday and today i started my first ever ch2k8 legacy with Tennessee St.

                            20min, All-American, 500bloc sliders & FunkyFresh rosters

1ST GAME vs. #22 Georgia Tech

                            (1-0)--------- (0-0)

Georgia Tech absolutely dominated the 1st half and it didnt matter if they took a shot inside or outside everything went in (tried Man, 2-3 Zone, 3-2 Zone but nothing worked)... at one point we were down by 18 but before the half ended we managed to take it down to 10 (48-38). At the beginning of the 2nd half the defense switched to 1-3-1 Zone and i guess it worked (at least it was better then in the first half) BUT the real game changer was Jacquan Nobles the guy scored 14 out of his 16pts in the 2nd half (two 3 pointers) but we were still down 80-78 with only 2.7 sec left on the clock. So with 2.7 left we get the ball on our side of the court and...

NOBLES! NOBLES! NOBLES! Tennessee St. outscores Georgia Tech 43-32 in the 2nd half and wins it 81-80.

                            (1-0)--------- (1-0)

After the big upset against #22 Georgia Tech we continued our strong play by defeated Delaware St. 63-49 in the first game of the Polar Bear Tip-Off Classic. Just minutes into the game and we already had a huge lead (17-4) and really never looked back. Four out of five starters had 10+ pts... after giving up 80 pts against GT we hold Delaware St. under 50 good day for the D.

                            PotG: #22 T. Fredrick 16 Pts, 3 Reb, 4 Ast
