Re: This game owns my soul.

so far im having a absolute blast in career legacy mode. Im currently 2-4 with losses to a team that was rated the same as me, and three teams rated 5 to 13 points higher. so its been a decent start.

some end of game team stats:

MOREHEAD STATE dynasty beginning: Season 1

-outmanned and outnumbered inside, I just couldnt keep up. UH was just too good this game. going to the FT line was my entire offense this game.
-Score was 33-33 at half. I fell apart as you can see come second half.

Comparable opponents. They had no inside prescence and I took advantage. My first win of the season.

-no offense for my team. They were rated just 3-4 points above me and I stayed in it for most of the game.

-just too much talent all around. I can usually grab an couple, if not a half dozen, offensive rebounds. but OU was just too big and dominating. Game over before it began

Lastly, my latest game and 2nd win of the season. Both teams pretty even. This was a shootout ALL NIGHT.

Vids to come, and more surprises!

Here is part one in this highlight package for my Morehead State career legacy. Through 6 games:

      <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eUSC2fk5kBw&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eUSC2fk5kBw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

      Play Breakdown:
      1. ABL play to begin the year. I got back and the controlability is so nice I can pretty much move and jump on command unlike other games. Blocked shot on the helpside play by me
      2. Midnight Madness. Steal leads to block on the other end. CONTROL!
      3. Tipped rebound back to the player for a layup off a missed three
      4. MSU @ UH: nice cpu play but he gets rim rocked on the layup
      5. MSU @ UH: broken lead pass into the paint, off my players hands into another teammates. PERFECT broken play as it leads to a dunk
      6. Western Ill. @ MSU: Dual block by me and a cpu teammate
      7. MSU @ bowling green: double team in the paint, as CPU puts it on the ground, stripped
      8. MSU @ bowling green: CPU teammate ran the break along side me just perfectly. I led the break and he finished.
      9. MSU @ bowling green: CPu leadpass off a players hands up into the backboard. I love these broken plays
      10. MSU @ bowling green: CPU fastbreak where a player pump fakes a three drives, #12 CPU teammate recovers on the drive for the block.. BEAUTIFUL!
      11. MSU @ bowling green: Active hands by CPU player. Tough to play against
      12. MSU @ bowling green: Tipped off. rebound into a layup. thats why SG's like that white guy on BG shouldnt be in the paint. No Height
      13. MSU @ Oklahoma: CPU dual block. I have the control and reaction time to catch the blocked shot.
      14. MSU @ Oklahoma: I'm able to recover on the cpu layup drive and Block the shot.
      15. Hartford @ MSU neutral court game: I thought I had an easy dunk but cpu comes from behind for the hard foul
      16. Hartford @ MSU neutral court game: Man Defense is my friend. A few moves and I'm in the lane dunking. CPU player tries to take a charge and is just alittle too late
      17. Hartford @ MSU neutral court game: This game was VERY VERY close. Noone could score in the last 2 minutes, so it went down to the last few seconds. CPU down 2, They shoot up an open three. NICE execution. Score 56-58. 7 seconds left
      18. Hartford @ MSU neutral court game: I run down court and call a timeout with 0.9 seconds left. What comes next is what separates this game from the rest. I had about a 1/2 inch of time separation on the shot. IT WAS GOOD! 59-58. My 2nd win of the year

#12 was so beautiful, exactly what you would see in real life. Great Vid and Great song RD. I like how Hartford moved the ball around and found the open three at the end. Then you had that pretty sweet game winner.

Vids are awesome Rub, you're inspiring me to get into making mixes like that!

I popped in 2K8 for the first time since I bought Live '10 and the game obviously still holds its own. I really miss some things from Live, namely the OBC and dribble moves but 2K8 just grabs you in like no other basketball game.

I picked it up again last night at Gamestop used for 7.99. I was getting the itch for some college ball as I wait for NCAA Basketball 10 to comeout next month. I played two great games last night, I still had my Texas State Career file from when I previously had it. I played at Texas, I hung tight with them through the first half before Abrams and company pulled away and we lost 85-63.

Doesn't 2K8 have off ball controls where you can shift control away from the ballhandler? (Well, you had it if you disabled maximum passing). I used it all the time for selecting the player I wanted to set a pick with.

You are correct but it's just no where near as good as Live's IMO.

I too purchased the game for a second time a few days back. I forgot how great it is. Why did I ever trade this in?

what sliders are yall running with? I had AA's inputed from two years back, so when I reloaded this game, it still had those in, when i started back up earlier this month. I havent looked back.

the game kicks *** and awesome vids by Ruben, i just wish it had accurate court to player ratio. The court looks Way too small. Somehow it still plays great bball.

and lets not forget how kinda crappy the game was before the patch dropped.

Im hoping the 2k10 patch works the same miracle it did on college hoops 2k8.

Without a doubt IMO. It was NBA2K8.5 in terms of game play with a college twist (and an amazing twist at that), and the most badass legacy/dynasty/franchise mode ever seen.
