Really? I don't have any problems getting some nasty dunks and getting those strong lay up animations. You said you're using Fist's sliders, right?

Oh I still got the occassional dunk and good layup animations it's just I'm a running team with Wake. I average high 80s-low 90s in points so I need to feel like my players have speed, guys like Teague.

Yeah I use fist's sliders, one of the better and most challenging sliders I have used in any game. I really like the range of games I get when using them.

If it weren't for My Player mode in 2K10 I wouldn't have bought a hoops game this year and I'd be knee-deep in College Hoops but I'm thinking starting a new legacy in 2K8 with the '09 rosters.

Just started up a SU Legacy using Shadow's 08-09 rosters. I was using Broadcast cam but switched to Nosebleeds (I think that's it, it's the one right after Broadcast) and man, that camera is sweet! Court looks better and player models seem better.

When I used 2k cam, I always felt the players looked too big for the court or the court was too small and spacing the floor was always an issue. Now, I have no trouble getting open looks.

Won my first game against Siena by 30.

I'll have to check that camera out, I always seem to have that spacing issue when playing from Broadcast. I thought 2K or High helped out quite a bit.

This game could possibily be one the all time greats for me. 3yrs running of playing a game when college b-ball rolls around. I play it and put it back on the shelf when I start to play another sport. I have never done this before with any sports game Madden (no way) NBA nope, baseball not yet ( the Show is close) we will see when the Show 10 comes around.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I decided to go with the High camera on PS3, haven't had any lag in any arenas so far and it can be manipulated enough to look pretty similar to the 2K cam.

I finished the regular season in Year 3 with UConn last night, went 10-8 in the Big East and 20-9 overall. Real young team, had a few injuries, all in all I was pretty happy with how the year went.

I drew Pitt in the first round of the BET, I beat them 72-70 in the regular season in a classic game. As usual it was another battle...

I came out on fire, built up an early 14 point lead but of course Pitt kept battling back, it was down to a three point game half time. I opened the second half on a nice run, went back up by 11 before Pitt went on a 17-0 run, classic CH2K8. The run wasn't cheap it all, I had a few starters on the bench, went cold for a bit and they brought the funk for a few minute stretch.

So I'm down six with 8 minutes to go when my sophomore SG (led the Big East in 3PT made) goes off, he hits 6 of 8 threes down the stretch to help turn my small deficit into a 12 point win. Crazy stuff, such a fun game.

I've got Notre Dame in the second round, they embarrassed me 91-66 at their place and beat me by 7 in OT at home (another crazy game where I stormed back to send it to OT before falling short). So I've got some revenge in store for the Irish, they always say how tough it is to beat one team three times in the same season.

Re: This game owns my soul.

so ehh sent me his modified fist's MOP slider settings with the speed lowered and after one first half last week, i was taken back by how it felt and looked.. I gave up 54 pts and 60% shooting that first half and was down 25.. two midmajors here... Later that evening, It all clicked together and I guess my eyes and mind were used to how it looked. I replayed that same game with the same teams and it was quite the battle

I was LBSU. My offense was all three point based, as the slower player speed really seemed to help me on my jumpshots. I could see the animation start and it just felt right. almost slow mo-ish in some sense. THe other teams offense was all FT based. They were more on the drive, attack, and get fouled gameplay. when I attacked, If I needed to, i would get the calls. But I was within 4 with 2 minutes left with my three pt. style offense But at the end I just couldnt get any closer.

some video highlights of that game.. mostly stuff that stood out:
                <embed width="440" height="420" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://v4.tinypic.com/player.swf?file=15xk9d3&s=4"><br><font size="1"><a href="http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=15xk9d3&s=4">Original Video</a> - More videos at <a href="http://tinypic.com">TinyPic</a></font>
                rundown:
                1. this didnt happen all the time, so i hate to focus on just that but I dont remember this happening often on AA with normal speed settings. Here the blue cpu player gets into his defensive stance early and just cant keep up. At some point with other settings, thats a for sure END of that fastbreak. But here it somehow works out for me. Again, this didnt happen all the time during the 30 minute game. I'm a bit conflicted here as if this is a positive or a negative. more games should see if this issue is valid.

2.#11 on my team pump fakes and drives around three guys. no rotations or nothing. could this be a player rating issue, fatique issue, an animation issue where a specific layup animation is SPED UP in relation to the slower player speed? ive never quite had an uncontested half court hlayup like that.. and back to the main point of #1, I didnt see this alot so Im happy its here, because it happens sometimes IRL, but at the same time, if this is triggered by the slower player speeds, ill need to look into just how effective it can be. when i say it doesnt happen alot, i mean i didnt play the entire 30 minutes trying to pump fake and drive. within the scoop of a normal offense, it didnt happen out of the realm of possibilities.

before the speed was lowered, it seems like that #21 guy in the paint would have contested that shot and a foul animation would have happened. It almost seems like the player speeds being lowered has helped the offensive team, as that person knows exactly what they want to do, and the REACTION TIME here, is seemingly more lifelike.

3.MY PF takes a loose ball and rolls down the court for a dunk, with alittle too much ease it seems. the UTA player with the blue undershirt usually would have stopped that with an animation that gets him in front of the ball handler. if im not mistaken, i did check speeds and they were almost identical so it seems probable, but in every other game ive played, that sort of play is stopped. with the speed lowered, alot of animations arent triggered..
#1 also should have but didnt contest the shot like I have seen with normal speed.

4.im turbo blasting my button on this fastbreak, and thats really the fastest youll see many players run... the defense is there, and a contested layup is made.. i think i missed 3or 4 just like this, so the misses are definetly there if you force it.

5.My player runs the middle of the court and splits two guys for a layup. Here #23 or #1 dont really step up like they should. #23 seems to get stuck in that sideways defensive stance, and there was no stopping my guy without that animation being triggered. my guy was a 89 speed and one of the others a 86 so its totally reasonable to assume, this sort of thing can happen... again, it doesnt always happen, but its now happening more than anything before with player speed normal.

                6. press is there. cpu recognizes with the half court pass. my guy is too slow to react, easy play for the CPU blue team.. that was my CPU teammate there. usually thats either a foul, or a stopped possession. it almost seems like the layup animation triggers and its so fast that my own player cannot respond like he used to be able to.

7.my player streaks out on the fastbreak and its pretty much over. the CPU man appears to commit to the other defender whos a few steps slow and gets himself out of position for the defensive stop.

8.here is just a pass out of the post. whats interesting is the reactions of teh CPU team. they arent QUICK to block or know whats happening. maybe thats the player speed kicking in as they are slower to react. I then have a 12 foot "open" jumpshot.

9.I wouldnt call it exploited but some of the lead pass animations happen so quickly that your guys are sped up. meanwhile the defense is set in tune with the current player speed settings. i cant pull this off successfully every time, nor do I try. but once in awhile an animation will be faster than the surrounding players giving that player an unfair advantage But when its all said and done, what the speed lowering does provide is worth these few negatives.

Thanks Rub, good stuff. Also, I am using 75/5 for speed now, I think you're on 52/5 IIRC with those settings.

It's funny looking at those clips, I guess on MOP the individual player awareness has a HUGE effect because I do not see most of that stuff with UConn and rolling vs Big East teams. Some of the things were weird, like the CPU going into their defensive stance 50' from the hoop instead of sprinting back, I honestly do not see that. Also, the one where your PF goes coast to coast is just weird, never seen anything like that either. The CPU is super aggressive when cutting off driving angles vs me. #7 is also really bad, no idea why the CPU guy who's back in the paint flares out to cover a guy on the opposite wing on a break. Makes no sense.

Have you played any powerhouse vs powerhouse matchups yet? I mean, I tweaked these settings specifically for my UConn legacy so they may not translate as well to lower level teams.

Re: This game owns my soul.

yes im at 52 gamespeed/ 5 player speed. ill do one more game with some random powerhouse teams. then jump up to 75-5.. at 100 game speed, i know the ball travels soo fast. which might be great for player rotations. and thats likely the reason its like that.

I will say that although I am highlighting the questionable and bad, if it were truly happening every game and in every possession and every fastbreak situation, I would either have won the game by a ton or, had a longer video. so although it doesnt happen alot, it was there.. ill be more focused on player awareness ratings, speed ratings, defensive ratings, fatique ratings and other variables that may be at hand.

that game felt like the most organic, non cpu cheating type of game, that ive played in along time. Shooting felt great. My guys got open.

two powerhouses. then a jump to 75/5

                          100/100

                          50/100
                          40/40
                          50/40

Don't worry about Dunk in Traffic being at 100, you still rarely see dunks. Being at 100 has a positive effect on something, it's just been so long I can't remember exactly what.
