    Does anyone know how to do a step-back? I've seen the CPU do it during drills.

        Anyone ever have 2 created teams?

        I have 1 with the logo of the devil and the other the logo of the M. Both are red. For some reason, doesn't matter what mode I'm playing in, the M logo team is correct. But the devil log team shows the logo M on their home court and in menu and scoreboard?

            There was a guy a while back that had an in depth spreadsheet for legacy, does anyone remember and have it or the post where the guy uploaded it?

                Double tap X on Xbox (I'm assuming square on PS) while holding the left stick away from the basket.

                    Long time no see Brock...I stepped away for awhile, but now I am back to play some more 2k8....it seems like its been forever, but I have a bunch of buddies coming out this weekend and playing that co-op in legacy is always a fun time.

                        Yeah, I had been awhile from the game since discovering the ability to hex edit, around this time last year and got back into playing again towards the end of last year. Always great experiences playing it. Even more so when you come back to after quite a bit of time.

                            I considered looking into HEX but was always concerned I'd break something and crash the game..

                                    doesn't the hop step button do a step back when you're further away from the rim? I remember the controller settings were kinda messed up on the layout screen

                                            Just finished reading this thread for the second time. It's the 10 year anniversary and I was watching the NCAA tournament first round last Thursday... by Saturday I had hooked up my old PS3 and got right back into my closed legacy on 2k8. This is truly a classic and deserves mention as GOAT sports game. I only hope it comes back someday.

                                                        Just started playing this again, and forgot how hard of a game it is (or how bad I am, either way). One thing I have trouble with is figuring out how to trigger animations (like the post-up up-and-unders) when playing in the broadcast cam mode. I can never figure out if "right" of the basket is "down" on the R-stick or "left" is "up" (if that makes sense)...I feel like the control scheme was designed to be played in the iso/up-court view and I'm having a lot of trouble with triggering the moves I want.

                                                        Also, I suck at defense. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to play defense in these games. I try to stay in front of guys, but other than that, someone is always popping open and I can't get any rebounds.

                                                        Also, running plays don't really ever seem to work very well for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong....?

                                                            I find that playing with the nosebleed cam works best. It's similar to broadcast, I believe. You really have to do the bonus drills (attack the basket and post up) to figure out what direction triggers what in relation to your camera. And honestly you have to think while playing. The action can be fast so you might want to slow the players down a little in the settings also. I play on all conference with slider tweaks and I still get handled from time to time. Also hold the left trigger to auto D the cpu player you're guarding. The ratings come into play a bit when you do it so I don't consider it cheating as some people might. Don't switch players right away if the offense passes away from the guy you're guarding because they can get away from you pretty quickly. As far as plays go, search this thread for a list of plays that actually works. They seem awkward but if you set them up they can work beautifully. Use the play art on the screen and follow them. All I can say other than that is to practice them. One more thing. I use controller config C. Simplifies the game for me.
