I got that from you saying that 15/11 is way over his head. Thats moderate production at best.

Lets do it like this...What type of numbers would he have to post for you to give him props as a good young player?

How's his decision-making? How's his range developing? How well does he play in crunchtime? How's his health been? Does he play through injuries?

Little help from any Grizz fans?
I watched alot of NBA games, Stro is a great athlete and high light reel, but his awareness is awful, he was low attention span, and it doens't seem like he cares.

He's kind of a bigger Darius Miles.

Nobody has seen Swift play big time minutes before, so maybe with a expanded role and coaching from Van Gundy he could become a big time defender.

I'm not sure how he'll fit in with the Rockets. They were pretty much a half court team and he hasn't proven that he has much of a low post game.

I'm actually really interested to see how Swift develops, at the very least he'll be good for a few highlights.....he has more of a jumper than I thought he would, although it's very ugly.

Swift has alot of potential, and I think the Rockets made a solid choice. They paid him less than Jerome James got from the Knicks.

The same numbers he's put up over his career or like Stro's: 10 and 7. As long as they are a meaningful, helpful to the team 10 and 7 with some effort and defense.

Gotcha...Your argument is that its not just his production that prevents him from being considered a good young player, but rather the off the court and/or mental factors. The intangibles. I get that.

But then you'd have to agree that *if* the intangible aspects get better due to his new surroundings (better coaching, better defined role, him having something to prove), then his old issues wern't just excuses...but legit reasons hampering his success. Don't get me wrong, dude makes big money to perform, and in no way did he earn that money in D.C., but I just think that his stint there provided no real indication of how good or bad he'll be...and I think deep down you agree with that.

No...those issues that came about during his time in Washington were real and he had a major part in them.

I'm of the mindset that players just "get it". That can be as soon as they enter the league or after bad situations or just a bout of maturity enters their skull finally. It is pretty obvious Brown is suffering from alot of immaturity right now. He's not just down on himself...he's been acting petulant. Maybe the Laker situation makes him finally "get it".
